Dawn nudged Jade with her snout, ~Go talk to them.
"No way Dawn," Jade hugged the dragon's snout. Dawn simply stood up snout in the air. Jade held on tighter not wanting to fall. Dawn carried Jade over to the group of kids and dropped her in the middle of them. Jade shot a glare at Dawn, before Dawn went off to play with the other dragons. Jade sheepishly said, "Hi?"
Realm paused in mid-jump, landing softly on the tall reeds of grass in the field, focusing it's faded violet eyes on the dragon's yellow ones. She recognized him immediately. His wise and calm stare, as if there wasn't a care in the world. Realm turned around and bounded back towards Zodiac, nudging her playfully.
~Where was Cain today?
"Business, as usual." She mumbled back, running her hand's across her dragon's scales as she looked over at the old, red one resting in the field's grasses.
"Hi" Charlie said chuckling at her dragon "Dragon's can be pretty frivolous can't they" He said trying to make her a bit more comftorable
"Yeah," Jade responded slowly standing up, "Especially mine."
"Yeah I can see that" He said looking over at the dragons, playing and bounding around the field "You know some people say their graceful, those people must not own one"
"Jade, right?" Zodiac asked, finally speaking up after a moment, her dark hair blowing in the wind. She mostly recognized the girl's dragon. Ever since she had been young, she had drawn other people's dragons in a notebook she kept, labeling behavior, personality traits, and anything else that was of importance.
Jade looked at the dragons, "Or have woken up to their curtains on fire, because you quote on quote overslept."
Jade turned to the girl, "Uhm yeah. How did you know?"
"I notice people. Plus, we've spoken once or twice." She answered, focusing her intense hazel eyes on Jade. Realm crept towards her dragon, Dawn, and studied her curiously, as if it was a new species.
Jade nodded, "Oh. I'm sorry your name is?" Dawn looked at Realm strangely. She didn't understand what he was doing.
"Zodiac." She replied, glancing over at her own dragon. "What are you doing, Realm?" She sighed, chuckling as she shook her head faintly.
~I'm meeting her.
"You're scaring her."
~She doesn't look scared to me.
Jekyll bounded back to Charlie nearly taking him out in the process "Jekyll calm down what are you doing" He said as the dragon was basically bouncing in place
Dawn spoke to Jade, ~Tell Zodiac to get her dragon away from me.
Jade let out a slight laugh, she relayed the message to Zodiac, "Dawn says that she doesn't want to be bothered by your dragon." Her voice got quiet, "But don't tell your dragon. I want her to suffer."
A forked tongue suddenly flicked out of Jun's muzzle, testing the air. He sensed no immediate danger, the world around the village remaining calm. At least it seemed that way…
Jun's eyes narrowed, pupils becoming thin slits which were nearly lost in the bright yellow of his eyes. The spines along his back seemingly raised every so slightly. His griff unfolded, covering his sensitive earholes. Small streams of smoke started to rise from his nostrils. The red dragon seemingly muttered something under his breath.
He felt his rider was probably starting something in the tavern. The dragon honestly didn't want to go and fetch Cain. It was difficult enough being his size, but to even try and move through, he'd more than likely end up crushing the village. The most he could do was sit where he was, while trying to get through to his rider, who currently wasn't responding.
(Ummmm I can have my guy make an excuse to leave and go get his dragon, then they can run into each other?)
"Hey, I have to go get Nox. She's probably finished sleeping now," Aurelius said, turning on his heel.
He began walking, retracing his steps through town, feet barely making a sound on the cobblestone streets. Finally, he arrived back at the stables, where Nox had been resting. However, she was panicked, having been shaken by some sort of nightmare.
"Nox, calm yourself!" Aurelius shouted, extending a hand to pet her.
He used the other hand to unlatch the gate.
"What's wrong, Nox?"
She let out a deep rumble. "Nothing. Let me out, human."
"No, you had a dream. You don't want to tell me because dragons often dream differently than us. A lot of the time, your dreams are a glimpse of what's to come. If you don't wish to tell me, I'm going to assume it's a full-on cataclysm, and I'll take it straight to the elders."
"Oh, all right. It wasn't full-on cataclysm, but it was awfully close. The village was on fire, and men broke into the stables to kill us. We were cornered and could not get out."
Aurelius led her out of her stall. "That's concerning, love. You know tensions are mounting."
Nox growled. She swept her tail furiously.
Aurelius stroked her neck and closed the stall back, then began walking away with her.
"Do you think it's real?"
"That's a stupid question."
"Do you think it was a vision of soon?"
"Probably sooner than you think."
(Meow, Im back from my party!! And can finally be online!)
((OOC: There is a bit of swearing in this post))
Cain sat in his dark corner. There was a bottle before him, another set off to the side. His amber eyes seemed to pierce through the usual customers. The man ignored the occasional look from the villagers who sat in the tavern. Eventually he finally had his fill of alcohol, but remained where he was.
The sound of movement drew his attention. Cain's vision moved, soon coming to land upon a man, a villager, who had approached. Cain's eyes narrowed, glaring at the stranger. He could smell the other was beyond drunk, and probably decided to take drunken frustrations out on him.
"You always come around, think you're so high and mighty don't cha?"
Cain listened quietly to the other's words. He was completely silent as he allowed the fool to continue his drunken spiel. It was rather amusing. Leave it to alcohol to loosen another's lips. The darker male slowly closed his eyes, clearly drowning out the other's voice.
"If it weren't for those Elders and officials, we'd driven you out long ago. For all we know, you could turn right around and murder us all in our sleep! Yea, I know about you, everyone does. What you have done. Couldn't even save…"
The drunkard never finished. Cain was up in an instant, not giving anyone a chance to move or react until it had already been done. The dark man had the other pressed against the wall, shoving his arm against his throat. Cain's eyes seemingly swirled, changing to bright yellow, a yellow all too familiar to a certain dragon, his own dragon. His pupils narrowed into thin slits, becoming even more dragon-like. Cain's voice was a dangerous growl.
"Don't.You.Fucking.DARE.Bring that into this. You so much as say another word, I will more than happily slit your throat."
Cain's voice became even darker, "And you know it's true, cause I won't give a damn about what the Elders will say. I may work for them, but they sure as hell don't control me. So watch your tongue, or you'll soon find yourself without one."
The dark male finally stepped back, releasing his hold on the drunken fool. Cain glared after the other as they swiftly staggered back to their place. His yellow eyes once again returned to their normal amber, pupils round. Cain glared over the other villagers, all who sat in silence, staring.
"Anyone else have a smartass remark," Cain growled.
The tavern was completely silent. None dared say a word. After he seemed satisfied, if you could call it that, Cain grabbed the second bottle, tucking it away. He then stalked out of the tavern, heading back to the fields where his dragon waited.
Zodiac nodded towards Charlie as she began to trudge towards her dragon, her arms brushing past the tall grasses. No matter how many times she told herself not to, her eyes would always glance up towards the mountains, hoping that she could go there someday. Shaking her head faintly, she looked back down towards the grains in the field as she neared Realm.
~They won't let you go. You've already asked multiple times.
"I know that. The Elders and Cain won't let me." She muttered back, rubbing Realm's dark scales as his violet eyes looked up at her. She remembered the first time that she had met him, scared to death by the storm outside. The Council had labeled him as a storm dragon, since sparks always seemed to be dancing across his skin.
Charlie pet the head of his dragon who was now fairly settled down. He didn't like leaving his dragon alone witch worked out since Jekyll didn't let Charlie leave him alone anyways. Jekyll's blue eyes met Charlies brown ones with trust. Charlie hadn't been a dragon trainer for a large portion of his life, this made communication between himself and Jekyll a bit more difficult but they were getting better at it.
Cain's dark form moved swiftly. Boots clicked on the cobblestone. A darkness seemingly emitted from him as he walked. Almost instantly, everyone scattered before him like leaves in a wind. No one dared get in his way, especially now when the man clearly was agitated. His amber eyes smoldered, seemingly flickering to yellow, but always returning to that burning amber.
It wasn't long before once again he entered the fields. Jun's great head turned. The dragon slowly sat up onto his haunches. Yellow eyes focused on his rider, the pupils narrowing into thin slits which were nearly lost in the bright yellow. The spines along the red dragon's back were fully erect now, alert. He sensed his rider's agitation, which wasn't good for anyone.
Already knowing the routine, the dragon instantly lowered his massive head. Great red wings slowly unfurled from his sides, readying for flight. His tail uncurled itself from his side, slowly swaying one way, then the other. Jun remained completely silent, knowing better than pursuing the man's thoughts. The red dragon was ancient and powerful, but even he knew what his rider was capable of doing. Jun would probably be the only one able to stop Cain if it were to ever come to it, and the dragon hoped it would never happen.
Her hazel eyes narrowed, watching Cain intensely as he walked towards the great, red dragon in the fields. Something happened. She studied everything he did. His glare was penetrating and cold, and every step and movement he made sent the message of anger and frustration. Maybe even hurt. Zodiac turned and hopped onto her smaller dragon, her dark wings unfurling as she watched the other dragon across the field.
