(You are very welcome. :)
(Thank you… It's going pretty well so far. I'm planning my novel for NaNoWriMo right now .. A little unexcited because I have to go to my dads the next two days for the 4th of July, but eh. It's all goody good.)
Mellie's eyes sparked with challenge. "Of course."
Jade came down with the board game, placing it on the coffee table.
(I've heard of NaNoWriMo. What is it?
Well, I hope you have a good time there, anyway. I'm going to the middle of nowhere, North Dakota for the 4th. But it's fun 'cause I get to practice my archery!)
(Should we time-skip to the end of the game?)
(National Novel Writing Month. In the 30 days of November you commit to writing 50,000 words…
Also yeah)
Mellie slouched in her seat. "I can't believe you beat me…" she grumbled.
Brooke shrugged. "Well, hey. You didn't lose by much! You were pretty good," she told Mellie.
"That's not enough…"
Jade sighed. "Stop it, Mellie. She won fair and square."
Jake looked at Brooke. "I can't believe you convinced me to sell all of my property to you.."
"I can be pretty persuasive when I want to be," Brooke teased, playfully batting her eyelashes at him.
He reddened, awkwardly coughing.
"Aww.." Mellie squealed.
Brooke laughed a little. "Okay, so now what should we do?"
Mellie beat Jake in answering. "Watch a movie? I think Jake and Jade have Netflix.."
"What movie?" Brooke asked, yawning. She had gotten up early for work and it was getting late, so she was pretty tired.
Jacob turned to Brooke, grabbing her hand and squeezing gently.
"Coraline! Please? I hear it's cool but Dad won't let me watch it," she gave her puppy dog eyes.
Brooke laughed lightly. "I'm sure that's for a good reason, Mellie. What about… The new Beauty and the Beast? I've heard it's really good, but I haven't seen it yet," she suggested.
Mellie gasped. "Wait, really? It's awesome; one of my favorites. That's it. We're putting it on." she declared.
"Okay, so that settles it," Brooke laughed again. She turned to Jacob to teasingly ask, "You good with watching a princess movie? Or do you want to watch something more manly?"
He dead panned, "I have lived with girls my entire life and seen numerous chick flicks. A princess movie won't hurt my masculinity."
"Well, good. 'Cause I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be able to convince this one–" She gestured to Mellie, grinning. "–to change it. Also, I'd really like to watch it as well."
Mellie snorted as she scrolled through the movies, looking for the one. "He wouldn't tell me no. I'm too adorable."
Brooke smiled. "You're also his sister, so that gives you an advantage," she joked. "Soon, though, someone else might have a higher advantage than you."
"And if someone has a higher advantage already?" Jacob teased.
"Well, that depends on who it is and why they have it," Brooke replied, smirking at him.
"Well let's say they have pink hair… are about this tall… ring any bells?"
(I swear, every time someone uses her hair to describe her, I forget that it's pink…)
Brooke cocked her head to the side, pretending to think. "Maybe… And why would they have an advantage?"
(Lol…)
He tapped his finger against his chin. "Hmm… Well, I believe I promised them my heart. Plus… they're really amazing… thoughtful, smart, kind.. you're really awesome, Brooke." he admitted.
