Eerie put his hands on Levi’s head and hip and laid down with him slowly, wrapping the sheets around them. The best medicine for Levi, in Eerie’s opinion, was snuggles. He helped Levi get some clothes on, somewhat thankful for the sheet, of it wasn’t for the blanket he’d be as red as a tomato. Once finished with that, he leaned back into Levi and gave him a gentle kiss. He wrapped their hands together again and relaxed into the bed.
Levi let himself be kissed and snuggled. The bed was warm but the pillows were cold. Soft and smooth below his cheek. Eerie's breathing puffed along his chest and his arms were lukewarm around Levi's waist. Having a person curled around him was nice. Especially when the person was so completely alive. Every tiny shift and breath proved that this was a new day. That this was separate from his memories.
Eerie twisted his legs with Levi’s and he half-closed his eyes. He listened to Levi’s calm heartbeat, inhaling and exhaling slowly with it. He looked up at Levi and shifted up so he was on the pillows with him, instead of curled uncomfortably. He stretched out a little and relaxed, finally smiling at Levi. He looked so tired and soft, but also handsome.
Levi wished Flora were here. Flora always knew how to break him from the fallout. Flora knew how to take his answers and suss out what they meant with complete accuracy. Eerie seemed to understand him on a different level. Eerie seemed content to push him outside his norms. It wasn't as comfortable as being around his sister, but it was exactly what he needed.
Eerie booped Levi’s nose. “Get some rest, babe. I’ll see you later tonight, and we can get something to eat, okay?” Eerie, for one, was starving again but he could wait. He wasn’t going to leave Levi alone like this, wether Levi would let him or not.
(MIGHT BE KIND OF BAD)
Levi hummed in response, closing his eyes and finding rest easily. His dreams were considerably less calm than his outside demeanor. He was swimming through an ocean. There was something behind him, some dark presence, that he couldn't see but knew was there.
He was swimming from it, as fast as he could, but something grabbed his leg. And when he looked down, it was a corpse. White and bloated, with dead black eyes. Its clammy fingers clutched at his ankle and he tried to pull off the fingers. But he only succeeded in ripping the flesh off the fingers. Pale chunks fell from his hands. He wanted to barf.
Levi woke up drowning in sweat and dry heaving off the side of the bed. He coughed and gagged and fell onto the ground, retching and scratching at his throat.
Eerie’s eyes flew open to Levi’s back. The next moment he was on the floor. Eerie scrambled off the bed and to Levi’s side in a moment, pulling his hands away from his neck. He sat up Levi with difficulty and applied weight to Levi’s hands, in case he tried to scratch for his neck again. This brought them very close, but Eerie didn’t care. Eerie whispered soft ‘it’s okay’s and ‘it was just a dream’ though he wasn’t entirely sure what it was about. He just woke up to see Levi reacting to something.
Levi felt himself being moved around but he didn't really calm down until he caught a glimpse of Eerie's face and heard the soothing murmurs. If Eerie was here, then this wasn't a memory. This place was safe. Things were okay. He pushed himself up into Eerie's arms, curling into his husband as closely as he could.
Eerie took him into his arms immediately, trying to keep a leveled head himself. What if he was just making it worse, somehow, for Levi? He curled his legs around Levi’s lap and dipped his head closer to his husband’s. His hands found his hair and hips, one stroked the floofy light brown mess and the other was resting on his hip.
“I’m here, Levi. I’m here.”
(Yo dude, Levi has light brown hair, just fyi)
Shaky breaths flew in and out of Levi's mouth as he attempted to calm down. His face was squished into Eerie's chest and his hands were fisted into the fabric so tightly it was three seconds away from ripping. When Eerie spoke, Levi could feel it in his chest That fleeting movement was the most comfortable thing Levi could possibly experience right now. "You're alive."
(Dude sorry. I thought I read black. I’ll edit it.)
Eerie smiled warmly, rubbing Levi’s hair into a fluffier mess. “I am alive. I’m right here for you. I’ll never leave.” He didn’t care about his straining shirt, nor the fact that neither of them were wearing pants. He cared about finding the exact, most best way to help Levi. He’d probably die before he found it but until then, he’d search and ask everyone.
(All good! Just making sure you knew.)
Several more choked off breaths shook through Levi, making him shudder and shake like a leaf in the wind. Eerie was here and he said he wasn't leaving. Even if it wasn't the truth, it was comforting enough to calm Levi down. He wanted to be held and kissed and petted and murmured to so badly that he nearly ached with it. "Hold me. Please."
Eerie shifted his grip on Levi. “I am, love, I am. I’m right here, holding you as close as I can. Just calm down, try to catch your breath. You’re not in danger, you’re not hurt. You’re safe with me, in my arms. Trust me.” He murmured all of this, trying to get the most of it. His voice was shaking slightly in the strain of whispering, he didn’t care. He wanted his husband to be okay, to feel safe.
Love me, Levi wanted to say, Hold me close and never let me go. "Don't leave. Don't leave. Please." He clutched even tighter. His heart was hammering in his chest. Blood thrummed through his ears and everything was overlaid by its sound. One of his scars was making his whole shoulder ache, the way it so often did after nightmares. Someone had told him it was psychosomatic. He didn't know what that meant.
Eerie held him as close as he could. His arms strained slightly with the effort. “I am. I am. I’ll never leave. I’m staying right here with you.” He tucked his face into Levi’s hair, squeezing Levi’s lap closer with a motion from his legs. This was perfect, sitting here like this, holding his husband in his arms. This is what he wanted, and what Levi needed at this moment.
"Promise?" Levi sniffed, keeping his face hidden. His eyes were getting warmer and he knew he was getting close to the edge. Knew he might start crying. If he started crying, Eerie would know- deeply and completely know- that Levi was weak. And sure, Levi had been weak today. He was already acting like a sniveling coward, but at least- at the very fucking least- he hadn't cried.
Eerie nodded. “I promise the whole world. I’ll never leave.” He swallowed a little. “I love you. I care about you a lot.” Eerie gave a slight chuckle. “I don’t even know where it came from. You’re just so… good. I could never replace you for anyone else.” He went to continue talking, but he stopped himself. “Sorry, I must be rambling.”
Levi half perked up at the word good. Eerie thought he was good. And wasn't that the best thing he could be in the world? Good? The only thing he'd ever needed to do was make the people who mattered happy. The only way to make people happy was to do what they wanted. "More."
Eerie shifted, feeling Levi perk up a little. Was he actually helping?
“When your dad first messaged us, I was unsure, sure, but I didn’t hate you. I more or less was prejudiced against you. But you were just really kind, and you put up with my shit and I really can’t thank you enough for that. Not to mention… you’re really caring and soft, even though I might suggest something you don’t want to do. You’ll accept it just to make me happy, right?”
Levi nodded furiously, looking up from Eerie's shirt just to prove how serious he was. In the back of his mind, he was squealing happily. The praise was soothing him, calming him. He derived most of his self-worth from what people told him. And Eerie said he was caring. Said he was soft.. Said he would make Eerie happy. "More."
Eerie smiled down at him. “You’re going to make a good husband. I’m excited to share my life with you. It was awkward at first, but now there’s just that bond between us. You deserve that bond. More than I do. But we both have it. We’re bound together in warmth. It’s really nice. Really. I’m really glad you’re here with me. If I didn’t find you… I don’t know where I’d be with your sister… but. I’m here with you. You’re my amazing, lovely, awe-striking, handsome, husband.”
Levi didn't even think, he just pushed himself upwards, claiming Eerie's lips in a searing kiss. Eerie said he was awe-striking. Amazing. Said he deserved something. The room was a bit hot, but Eerie's skin was cold. His lips were cold too, and that just made him even more perfect. He pulled away after a few seconds, flinching when he realized what he'd done. HE kissed EERIE. Without permission. What if he fucked up?
Eerie made a faint noise in surprise but didn’t resist. He rose his hands only to put them back down. He identified the fear on his husband’s face with concern on his own.
“What’s wrong, Levi?” His hands found Levi’s face. “You didn’t do anything wrong.” He smiled a little. He loved the determined power behind that kiss. He wanted another. He ached for Levi’s lips on his and for Levi’s hands on his hips, like it was earlier.
Levi leaned back in a little slowly, head tilted in confusion. The kiss had been nice, excessively nice, but it was strange to think that Eerie had liked it the same way Levi had. He was made to hurt people, not give them pleasure. "It… was?"
Eerie nodded. “It was. It was amazing.” He left something unsaid, trailed off. He wanted to go past the kissing, but he knew to be patient. He took Levi’s head in his hands and shifted slightly so he was on his lap, straddling him again. “It was really nice. Really.”
