"I know you aren't," Hunter replied with a small smile. "I won't treat you as such. You're a strong, badass woman."
"I know you aren't," Hunter replied with a small smile. "I won't treat you as such. You're a strong, badass woman."
Kenzie blushed and smiled over at him a bit. “You give me too much credit sometimes,” she murmured.
Hunter shrugged.
“No, not really,” he answered nonchalantly. “I’m saying what’s true.”
Kenzie smiled at him for a moment longer before leaning her head back against her seat with a hum. “All right… Lets go home so I can take a nap…”
"Right, let's go," Hunter laughed. By the time they reached home, it was already 8. Thankfully, they didn't have college; they graduated a couple of months right after their wedding. That meant they didn't need to skip college. That also meant they needed to find a job soon. Kenzie was slowly getting closer to her dream of becoming a vet, and it pleased Hunter. His wife was terribly good with animals. Him, not so much.
“Okay, I’m going to go lay down. Do you want to join me, or do you have something you need to do?” Kenzie asked as she stepped out of the car.
"I'll join you in a while," Hunter said. "I got something to do."
Kenzie gave him a small smile and a nod before pecking his lips and making her way inside. Once she reached the bedroom, a wide grin spread across her face, and she let out an excited squeal.
“I’m pregnant, I’m pregnant, I’m pregnant!” she sang, doing a little dance before laying on her back on the bed, still grinning excitedly.
(Can we skip?)
(Sure. To a few months later, maybe? Kenzie with a baby bump, oh my gosh…)
(That would be so cute!! Can you start?)
(Sure, no problem.)
A few months later, Kenzie was in her second trimester and feeling much better. She still really liked French toast, which she found slightly amusing, but she couldn’t stand to be around peanut butter, which was not so amusing. Her morning sickness came and went, but it was mostly gone by now.
She was starting to show the fact that she was pregnant and had a small baby bump. To keep it a secret from Willow and Leo, she wore larger shirts around them, at least until she and Hunter told them the news.
The ultrasound was that day, actually, and they would get to see the gender of baby McArthur. Kenzie was excited beyond words and was flirting around the house as she collected her things, then the things that she’d dropped while collecting her things.
Hunter watched Kenzie with an amused smile. Time flew by so fast. Kenzie now had a baby bump growing. She glowed brighter, and it made Hunter happy.
"Are you ready?" he asked her softly. "For the ultrasound?"
“I just need my purse… I don’t remember where I put it, do you?” Kenzie asked as she looked around the room. The item in question was actually hanging from her arm, but she was too nervously excited to remember that.
Hunter laughed, shaking his head in amusement.
“It’s on your arm,” he grinned. “You don’t need to be nervous, Kenzie.”
Kenzie glanced down at her purse and sighed. She shook her head, the looked back up at Hunter. “Sorry. I just can’t help it. What if something is wrong? What if the baby isn’t growing right? What if it’s too small?”
Hunter rested his hands on her shoulders, stopping her from talking further.
“Kenzie, it’ll be okay,” he bumped their noses together. “The baby won’t be small. It’ll be growing right. Don’t worry, okay?”
Kenzie closed her eyes and slowly let out a breath. When she opened her eyes again, she gave Hunter a small smile.
“Right. Of course. I’m healthy, so there’s no reason for the baby to not be…” she reasoned quietly. “Thanks, hun.”
Hunter smiled.
“Now let’s go,”
(Can you write the ultrasound part? I have no experience in that.)
(Sure. Lol. We’ll see how well I do.)
When they reached the doctor’s office where they were having the ultrasound done, they were led to a room with a couple of computers, other medical equipment, a bed, and a few chairs. Kenzie was instructed to lay down and pull her shirt up over her stomach, or at least hold it up. Hunter could sit beside her in the chair that was provided for him.
“Now, I’m going to put some gel on your stomach that helps the machine to read the ultrasound correctly, Sony’s going to be a little cold,” the nurse said with a polite smile before dipping her fingers into a transparent, blue gel and rubbing it on Kenzie’s stomach.
Hunter took a deep breath, nervousness spreading through him. He couldn’t wait to see his unborn child. His future, his pride and joy.
He smiled at Kenzie, mainly because she was his support, and because she needed his support as well.
Kenzie grinned back at Hunter before turning her eyes to the screen as the nurse put the ultrasound thing (I have no idea what it’s called) on her stomach. The nurse looked at the screen as she moved it around, and she made a small sound of surprise.
“Is everything all right?” Kenzie asked, suddenly worried.
“Oh, yes, everything is fine. I just wasn’t aware that you were having twins,” the nurse said.
When the nurse gasped, Hunter's head whipped up in horror. Until she broke the news, he felt like he was going to collapse.
"…Twins…?" he repeated in disbelief. "We're going to have twins?"
“Well, yes. Did you… Did you not know that?” the nurse asked softly.
“No, we didn’t,” Kenzie answered, shocked. Not only was she pregnant with her first child, she was having twins!
Hunter was sat in his seat in shock. Two kids. He was going to be a father of twins. Hunter couldn't seem to believe his luck.
"Kenzie," Hunter murmured, still in disbelief. "You are seriously amazing luck."
