Hunter laughed.
“Cute,” he commented. “Anyway, let’s get to work!”
Hunter laughed.
“Cute,” he commented. “Anyway, let’s get to work!”
“Okay, all we need first is a card. I think I have a pen in my purse, so we don’t need to buy one,” Kenzie said. “And then to surprise the others!”
(Skip to when they show up?)
(Yup!)
“I can’t wait to see their faces!” Hunter snickered as they drove to their friends’ place. “It would be amazing.”
“It’ll be great,” Kenzie laughed.
She had stuck a picture into the card and written, “Congratulations! You’re and aunt/uncle!” beside it.
Once they reached the house, the knocked on the door. After a minute or so, Leo’s face popped through the door.
“What do you guys want?” He asked, raising an eyebrow. “I thought you were busy today.”
Kenzie blinked and raised her eyebrows. “Wow. Hello to you too, Mr. Grumpy. We stopped by to say hello because we miss our friends. Care to let us in?”
Leo’s annoyed face turned into a grin.
“Come on in,” he said, opening the door wider. “Will’s currently freshening up, but she’ll be here soon. Anyway, what brings you both here? You came without notice.”
“We just have something to give you guys, but you can’t open it without Willow,” Kenzie said as she held the card up, closed in its envelope so he couldn’t see it.
“He can’t open what without me?” Willow asked, stepping out and standing beside her fiancé. She smiled at her friends, her blonde hair pulled back into a high ponytail and her eyes accented by dark mascara.
“Kenzie and I have something for you both,” Hunter gestured to the envelope in Kenzie’s hands. “We felt really grateful to you guys, for everything, so we wanted you both to have this.”
Hunter motioned to Kenzie to give them the surprise.
Kenzie grinned and handed it over to Willow, who glanced down at it curiously before giving Leo a confused look.
"Just open it!" Kenzie giggled, leaning into Hunter's side.
"Okay, okay! I'm going!" Willow exclaimed as she opened the envelope. She glanced at the cover in confusion before she opened the card and squealed. Shoving it in Leo's hands, she wrapped her best friend in a hug. "Are you serious? You're not pranking me?"
Leo stared at the envelope for a good minute before he finally looked at his best friend.
“You’re joking, right?” He stammered, looking at the picture and then at Hunter. “This is serious? You’re going to be parents?”
Hunter nodded.
“I’m going to be an uncle?” Leo repeated, his voicing rising in pitch. “There are two tiny humans in Kenzie’s stomach?”
“Yes and yes, Leo,” Hunter grinned at his best friend’s reaction. Leo took a deep, shaky breath.
“Listen, I think I’m going to cry, but pretend I’m not,” he said, rubbing his eyes. “Can I be the Godfather? I mean, I am the godfather, aren’t I?”
“I was actually going to talk to Hunter about that later,” Kenzie giggled as she pulled Willow off of her.
The blonde laughed and moved to hug Hunter. “I’m so excited for you two! Congratulations!”
Hunter grinned, hugging Willow back.
“Thanks, Willow!” He grinned. “We’ve actually chosen names already.”
“Really? What are they? Tell me, please!” Willow bubbled with a grin as she pulled away and moved to Leo’s side.
“Hm, I don’t know… Should we tell them, babe, or make them wait until the shower?” Kenzie teased, turning to grin at her husband.
"No!" Leo exclaimed. "You cannot make us wait that long!"
"Can't we, though?" Hunter grinned. "I really want to torture you guys."
“You know, babe? I think we should make them wait, seeing they’ve been making us wait to know when their wedding is finally going to be,” Kenzie chuckled.
“What? No! You two are evil,” Willow declared with a scowl.
Hunter laughed.
"Sorry," he stuck his tongue out. "Speaking of which, when are you getting married?"
Leo and Willow exchanged a look, causing Hunter to get suspicious.
"Tell us the names first, and we'll answer that question," Leo responded.
“We’ve been waiting longer, I think we deserve the answer first,” Kenzie said with a smirk as she leaned into Hunter.
Willow shifted and glanced at Leo, chewing on her lip. Kenzie noticed and raised her eyebrows questioningly at her friend.
"I wouldn't put it past you both to take our answer and not give your own," Leo shot back. "For all we know, you might not even give us the correct names."
Kenzie rolled her eyes and sighed. “Well… I think I’ll leave that up to Hunter, then. I don’t actually mind saying, but…” she shrugged and glanced at her husband. “Do you?”
Hunter shook his head.
"Nah, not really," he answered. "But they need to tell us first."
(And then saying involves me remembering what, exactly, we decided on doing… sigh)
Kenzie gave a quick nod. “Exactly. We’ll tell you the names as soon as you tell us a date.”
(What?)
"Fine," Leo sighed loudly. "Willow, you have them on you right now?"
(Idk, I think I was tired when I wrote that. I was confused. Lol.)
"Not on me, but I think there are some in the kitchen," Willow said as she pulled away from him and headed out of sight. After a few moments, she came back with a small, white envelope in her hand and handed it to the McArthurs with a light chuckle. "You two pick who opens it."
Kenzie rolled her eyes and took it from her friend. She slipped her finger under the seal and pulled the card out, holding it so that Hunter could read it at the same time as she did.
Hunter's eyes skimmed through the text before they widened.
"Next month?" he looked at his friends. "Dude, how long have you been planning this?"
