(I hate slow internet. -.-)
(Kenzie has made Hunter so soft! 😂😂😂)
Hunter tightened his grip on Kenzie’s hand before leading her towards his room.
“We will watch A Quiet Place and you cannot say no,” Hunter said to her. “I’ve been dying to watch that one!”
Leo rested his forehead against Willow’s, trying to get his breathing back to normal.
“Is this reality?” He breathed out. “Did you really just kiss me?”
(Aw! I think it's cute.)
Kenzie grinned. "All right, fine. I don't know what that's about, but I'm sure it'll be great as long as I'm with you."
"Yeah," Willow giggled breathlessly. "Yeah I did."
Hunter grinned, excited to see her reaction to the fact that she had just had just agreed to watch a horror movie (I haven’t watched it. The writer is not a big fan of horror things).
“I’ll enjoy it a lot,” Hunter mused to himself.
Leo grinned.
“Count me a lucky guy then,” he mumbled, still dazed.
(Lol. Same, though. I have enough fear without them.)
"Well, good," Kenzie said, reaching up to press a quick kiss to his cheek.
"Well, I'm a lucky girl," Willow said, opening her eyes finally. "It's too quiet. Where'd Huntzie go?"
Hunter inserted the disc into his video player when he found the movie and made himself comfortable next to Kenzie on the bed. He pulled her close to himself, wrapping an arm around her waste.
“Hopefully it doesn’t disappoint.” He commented right before the movie started.
Leo furrowed his eyebrows.
“I think they realized how much it sucks watching their best friends kiss,” he replied. “I’m all up for a second round, too, actually.”
(The thing about Leo is that he’ll be a flirt and smooth and all that, but when the tables turn on him, he’ll get all flustered and cute.)
(Lol. I love it. It's adorable.)
Kenzie leaned into Hunter's side, laying her head in his shoulder. Hopefully, she would be able to watch it without getting too scared.
Willow laughed. "Yeah, I bet they did. And if you want a round two, then you'll have to catch me!" she exclaimed, quickly darting away from Leo.
(Bumping because: HUNTZIE + WILLEO + FLUFF = PERFECTION)
(Honestly I haven’t watched this movie. Why did I suggest that?? Let’s pretend it’s The Conjuring because I have watched that. -.-‘)
The movie was utterly boring for Hunter. Twenty minutes into the movie and Hunter already felt tired. It was the same predictable horror movie. A couple moves into a house, finds said house haunted, gets possessed, calls exorcists, evil ghost is exorcised and they live happily ever after. Typical.
Hunter didn’t realize when, but soon, he felt his eyes shut as he fell into darkness.
Leo grinned as he chased after Willow.
“This isn’t fair!” He exclaimed. “I’m a terrible runner! I am not athletic, Will!”
Kenzie jumped at a part in the movie and huddled closer to Hunter. When he didn't move or respond, she looked over and noticed he was asleep. She pressed a kiss to his forehead and shut the movie off. That was enough horror for her for a lifetime.
She turned and wrapped an arm around him, snuggling closer to his side as she drifted off.
Willow laughed and dodged Leo again. "Well, I was in track in high school. Best on the team!"
Leo grumbled, but there was still a grin on his face.
“That’s cheating!” He exclaimed again, stopping to catch his breath, resting his hands on his knees. “I’ll never be able to catch you, then!”
"You're gonna have to try if you want that second round!" Willow teased, coming to a stop on the other side of the couch.
Leo narrowed his eyes.
“Does that mean you don’t want that second round?” He asked, his eyes dropping slowly. “So you’ll only kiss me if I catch you, which I probably won’t. Is that your way of saying you don’t want to kiss me again?”
Willow blinked a couple of times before opening and closing her mouth, trying to figure out what to say. She definitely wanted a round two, but she couldn't tell if Leo was messing with her or not.
Kenzie sat up with a gasp. This was why she didn't watch horror movies. She always had nightmares afterward.
Her heat pounded in her chest as she looked around wide-eyed. Her dream replayed through her mind.
Leo continued to pout, hoping his little act would soften Willow up enough to have her come to him.
Hunter’s eyes opened as he jerked back in a daze. Blinking sleep away, he looked at the shaking form of Kenzie.
“Kenz?” He murmured sleepily. “What’s wrong?”
"I just– I was just…messing with you. I…didn't mean it that way," Willow stuttered, taking a few steps closer. Her eyebrows were tilted down, and she frowned, worried she'd actually hurt Leo.
Kenzie squeezed her eyes shut for a moment, not responding to Hunter right away. When she opened her eyes, she turned back to him and gave him a small smile.
"Nothing. I'm good. Everything's fine," she bluffed.
Leo continued to pout, crossing his arms, but he felt delighted at the fact that his little act had worked. He took some lessons (albeit a bt reluctantly) from Hunter about acting so he could get what he wanted, and he was pleased that he did so.
Hunter immediately grabbed Kenzie and pinned her underneath him on the bed, fully awake.
“Are you?” He whispered, his nose barely touching hers. “Is it?”
Willow continued to step closer, though she was beginning to get suspicious again. She eventually got nearly toe-to-toe with him and whispered, "Leo?"
Kenzie blushed and looked away. "I'm fine, honestly," she mumbled, her voice wavering. She didn't want to worry him or make him think it was his fault she had the nightmare.
(I got roped into playing a couple of rounds of hide and seek with my cousin, sorry.)
Leo suddenly grinned and grabbed Willow’s arm, pulling her closer as he pinned her to his chest.
“Gotcha!” He exclaimed, laughing, his eyes twinkling mischievously. “I caught you, so now you have to give me a kiss.”
Hunter raised an eyebrow suspiciously.
“Kenz, look at me,” he demanded, ignoring the position he had put them into. “What’s wrong?”
Willow's eyebrows shot up as she looked at Leo. She laughed, shaking her head. "Okay, you totally got me there," she admitted, then gave him a teasing smirk. "But if you want a kiss, you'll have to take it."
Kenzie turned back to look Hunter in the eye, her own brimming with unshed tears that she was trying to hold back. "I just…had a bad dream," she admitted quietly, closing her eyes tight to keep the tears from spilling over.
Leo immediately clasped his lips over Willow’s without a word, his hand holding the back of her head firmly in place. Fire burned in his chest at the contact and Leo knew at that moment that he was deeply screwed. He didn’t realize how deep his infatuation with Willow ran. He was completely and entirely enthralled by her. He rested another hand on her upper back, not wandering any further.
Hunter’s eyes softened and he cursed himself. Why had he suggested the horror movies? Stupid him!
“I’m sorry,” he murmured, gently resting his forehead on hers, and closed his eyes. “If I had known that you had nightmares because of horror movies, I would have never made you watch it.”
Wow… Willow thought as she closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around Leo's neck, pulling him closer. There was practically no space between them, now. Not even a piece of paper would fit between them.
Kenzie bit her lip. That was exactly what she had been trying to prevent by it telling him what was wrong.
"It's not your fault. You didn't know," she assured him. "And I could have asked to stop the movie at any time, so it's more my fault than anything."
Leo smiled against the kiss, feeling warm all over. He’d kissed plenty of girls before, but he knew without a doubt that this was the best kiss he’d had. When they pulled apart to catch their breath, Leo didn’t hesitate to capture her lips once more.
“I could kiss you all day…” he murmured against her lips. “And still not get tired of it.”
Hunter laid back down next to Kenzie before pulling her over his chest, wrapping his arms around her tightly.
“I’m here,” he murmured. “I’ll keep your nightmares at bay.”
