"Rebellion." The King spoke quietly, almost wistfully as he gazed at the blood on his hands, turning them this way and that. Cambria's entire form tensed, ready for the next onslaught. She wasn't sure that was the best thing to bring up at a moment like this, but it was certainly too late to take it back now.

The King looked to Dominik, that same eerily soft voice at odds with the viciousness of his bloodied appearance. "He did not show himself. The assassin. It was just all of you." He sighed, tilting his head towards the ceiling and shutting his eyes.

"My lord–" Cambria began as she stepped closer to the circle converging around the monarch. Perhaps if we all trapped him… Her flames sparked within the palm of her hand, which she kept hidden within the folds of her skirt.

"Rebellion. Indeed. I had forgotten was war was like during these times of peace…but no longer." The King looked down suddenly, eyes flashing and voice turning to stone. "Let them rebel against me. I will cut all of them down until I find the one that took her from me. I care not about this forsaken race. Let them die. War is war."

Victor had crept into the room unnoticed and was watching the scene unfold before him. There was an eerie glint in the king’s eyes. There was no longer room for doubt. The king was mad. Only a true rebellion would be able to stop him.

"You do not care about this race?" Ames muttered coldly, his voice soft yet sharp. His hands curled into fists as the more he looked at the king the more angry he became. "Are we to assume you do not even care for your own son at this point? Though I wouldn't be surprised–"
Dominik placed a firm hand on Ames' shoulder, griping it hard to prevent the boy from speaking out of line any further. The lord kept his eyes on the broken king, somewhat of a smirk curling up on his lips. "If it is a war that you want, don't think I won't play my part. If it is a war that will put an end this, then it is a war you shall get."

Etzli just sighed to herself. Of course it had to come to this…. She quickly wiped her leftover makeup from her face onto her sleeve to the dismay of her aunt several yards away. She breathed in the scent of the blood and her stomach growled. Who knew her first time out of the house in years would end up in blood, carnage, and war? She slipped away again, silently, heading for the library. She needed to research.

The fearful look had long since vanished from Cambria's features, instead replaced by a glint that would have been described as manic. War was something she was good at. War, she thought to herself, is exactly what we need. This reign as gotten much too boring. Her lithe form relaxed into a casual stance. This was a game she was all too familiar with. But who's side to play on? Licking her lips, Cambria debated if she should just behead the King now and get it over with. It was a pleasant mental image.

The King smirked, appearing to come to his senses. "Well well. We are at war then. Only that traitors death will suffice." His ravaged eyes dragged across each noble before him. Then without a word, he vanished.

Cambria pouted. "Shit."

Etzli was muttering to herself as she flitted across the rows of books, searching. She had no clue of how wars worked. Much less one instigated by the king against his own people…

"Well then.." Dominik chuckled wistfully. "It seems we must prepare for war. I think now would be an appropriate time to say that I intend to fight for myself. I have no reason to protect nor fight with any of you, if anything, I fear at least one of you would stab me given half the chance. I haven't yet ruled out the possibility of one of you being the murderer, especially you." He glared at Victor. "You are the odd one out here."
Ames smirked a little, whispering into Dominik's ear. "I think Miss Etzli is worth noting as a suspect, she may be weak but I feel the weaker ones are the most dangerous."
The lord nodded thoughtfully. "You're right.." He rose head to stare at the other nobles, his eyes sparkling brightly. "I wish you all the best, and may the gods be in your favour." He turned his back to them and proceeded to leave the bloody hall with Ames. "Try not to die!" he called over his shoulder.

Victor recovered from his shock before Dominik left the room. “Why would I do anything?” he demanded loudly. “I would have nothing to gain! I have lived alone for a hundred years and am in need of nothing.” He looked almost fearful. “Why do you suspect me?”

"Because you're a wild card, darling." Cambria said as she crossed her arms across her chest. A red brow lifted at the young vampire as she continued. "No one knows you, or your lineage and yet here you are among the old and powerful. Unknowns can be powerful threats." She hardly looked threatened as she spoke though, instead looking more as if she couldn't quite figure him out. An interesting puzzle to mull over. "Much can be gained during war. Especially for those who hold no allegiance to a House already established. I'm sure you understand?"

Intriguing notions would have to wait though, she thought as she pun on her heel to leave, hesitating at the last moment to cast a apathetic eye over the once grand ballroom. Dominik had certainly drawn a line in the sand, many others would be doing so as well. So where would she lead the Vocorix? Side with the monarch she had once fought for? Or take the risk and rebel? Questions. Questions. Questions.

Victor looked around, uncertain. There was trouble brewing. More than he had bargained for. The king had said there would be no escape and yet… Victor vanished into his cloud of sparkling light and swooped out of the ballroom again. The bodies on the ground gaped up at him, the light barely reflecting in their dead eyes.

Edith looked after Dominik's receding form, her eyes narrowed. Someone always had to disturb the river, just to see the ripples. War was on their hands now, whether they liked it or not. Plans were forming in her mind as she looked to all the other nobles. This didn't change the fact that there was still an assassin in their midst, it just made it easier for them to hide.

Don't worry, though. I won't forget you… Edith thought with a smile. But first and foremost, her stance needed to be made clear. Edith was on no one's team. Her main goal was to find this assasin and end the war. Now, who she had to cut down and exploit in the process, those were all little surpise candies for her to find. Just at the thought, her bloodlust grew. "Oh goodie!" She thrilled, clapping her hands like a child. "Let's call it a night shall we? We all have much planning to do."

(I won’t be on until September. Very very VERY SORRY!!)

Etzli has found a few books worth looking into. Battle strategies, history of vampire wars, and a self defense book. She spied a book on herbs too and grabbed that before stumbling out of the library and heading for her room again, stomach grumbling.

(Yep, if we do redo this, I'll be able to keep up better. :) )
