Etzli shook her head frantically before convulsing again. "No! No blood!"
Etzli shook her head frantically before convulsing again. "No! No blood!"
"Damnit Etzli!" he hissed. "You. Need. It."
(I'll reply later.)
Still up on the balcony, Cambria's eyes flicked about the patrons of the ball. Not a single noble was among them. Her eyes narrowed into slits. What could possibly be going on? This is not the night to be looking as suspicious as this. What would the King think should he notice they were all gone? I am not loosing my head because of the stupidity of others. She vanished from the balcony, using the speed blessed to her by her noble bloodline. Clenching her fists, she was sure she was going to murder someone.
Cambria paused out in a hallway just off the main ballroom once she recognized the voices coming from within. She moved to the little group, dress swishing roughly about her legs. A curse in her native tongue slipped from her lips as she beheld what was happening. "My gods. This is not the time to be weak, girl." She hissed down at the shuddering form of the young lady. "You are a vampire. Start acting like one before we all get killed."
"Can't you see she is troubled?" Ames hissed at Cambria and Victor, kneeling beside Etzli. His eyes searched hers for a brief moment before a sharp gasp left his lip. "You poor girl, you didn't deserve that.."
Dominik averted his attention to Edith with a regretful shake of his head. "The lady is refusing blood and it kills her. It will do her no good having a crowd around her, she needs space, she needs someone who will listen to her. I assume my butler knows why." he shot Ames a look, to which the boy nodded sadly. He turned back to the frail child and mumbled soothingly. "Please allow my butler to carry you to your room, you don't deserve to be in this pain."
(Oh jeez)
Klaus had been one of the last to join the scene, only hovering near the sidelines, his eyes half-closed as he squinted at everyone around. He couldn't deny Ames' very true words, but he kept silent, just still watching. He apparently joined too late, because she was already being lifted slowly as Dominik offered Ames to carry her. It was the child's fault, why were they sympathizing?
Victor stared at the others coldly. Unsure to release the girl to them or not.
Dominik rose to his full height when he realised Victor was giving him a cold glare. He looked down at the stranger, his bright amber eyes were emotionless yet a dangerous glimmer flickered across them. "I suggest you allow one of us to help this girl."
Cambria almost snapped the head off of the butler for such insolence, but decided otherwise at the last moment. He was hardly worth the energy to do so. Instead she stared down her nose at the girl. "She would have been left for dead on the battlefield." She elegantly crossed her arms. "Hardly a proper vampire, but sure dote upon her and tell her everything is 'going to be okay.'" Cambria miffed none too quietly. Her flames danced along her knuckles and in the pupils of her eyes, a warning.
Etzli was starting to hyperventilate, unable to function from contrasting harsh words, calm words, forceful words… Not to mention there were so many people around. She coughed, and blood spattered onto her dress, eyes wide and unseeing. "Don't wanna be a vampire." She spat at the female who had cursed at her [Cambria]. "I'd rather fucking die."
"I'm sure someone would be more than happy to oblige you." Cambria replied somewhat softly, but not without that same dangerous lit to her voice. She was quickly becoming annoyed by the situation. "Honestly." Vampire or no this girl was–
Cambria sighed, turning away, thanking the gods that this girl wasn't a member of her own house.
Etzli stumbled to her feet and whispered, "Then why don't you?" Her face was murderous.
(I'm so sorry, but it was too tempting.)
"If you'd rather die," Ames murmured, loud enough so only Etzli could hear him. "At least keep it confined to your room, with someone who will allow you to die in peace. I know what happened, child. Say the word and I will take you away from the crowd."
Dominik shot a harsh glare at Cambria, groaning in annoyance. He saw the warning, and ignored it. "Every word you say just happens to be a thorn in my side. No one ever said that things were 'going to be okay' for this girl, things are far from okay. However there is no need to insult a suffering child. You do not know what she has been through and not everyone responds to situations different. Not everyone can be strong, not everyone wants to be strong. Take your patronising where it's wanted, because it sure isn't wanted, nor needed, here."
Etzli stumbled over to Ames before collapsing in exhaustion. "Please." She pleaded. "Just get me away from them." Tears were leaking down her face as she tried to contain her pent-up emotions.
Ames gave Dominik a firm expression as he gathered the girl into his arms and vanished from the scene. Not a second later, the two of them were confined inside the walls of Etzli's chambers. The door and windows locked. "Would you like to lie down?" he felt he needed to ask, it was only respectful.
Etzli shook her head. "Just want to sit down…"
(Wait, so what's Ames power?)
Victor stared at the others and without emotion spun into a cloud and floated away.
She had been tempted. Oh so tempted to end that sweet little life before her. Cambria had only smiled at the girl. A smile filled with promises, if Etzli was ever brave enough to come find her. Maybe she would be, if she indeed was suffering as others had claimed for her.
Cambria had paid little mind to Dominik's little speech, instead flippantly dismissing him to return to the side of Lady Edith. They certainly had much to discuss. Chats between brutal women were much more entertaining.
(Wow. The females are more vicious than the males.)
(vampires ya know? XD)
(exactly. lol. My Etzli's the odd one out.)
Ames lowered her into the armchair of her room, kneeling beside her. He wasn't convinced that she was really ready to die, but, if she was, he was prepared to end her life with his own hands. Before she made her decision, he wanted to make her felt comfortable, he wanted her to know that someone was there for her. Someone knew what she had been through. "Do you require anything at all, my lady?"
Part of him felt it was a little strange referring to someone his age as 'lady' or 'lord', but then again he hadn't been around many nobles his age.
Etzli opened her eyes and looked over at Ames. "In that bag by my bed is some bottles of coconut milk. Can you grab one for me? … And please. Don't say 'my lady'. My name is Etzli, and you're free to call me by that."
The boy smiled shyly, brightly, as a bottle manifested in his hands. He nodded, holding it out to her. "Etzli. Would you mind if I ask why coconut milk, rather than another type of milk?"
