Aron was about to answer Cicada when the soldiers tossed the new person in. He stiffened, examining the door. He glanced at the new person with slightly narrowed eyes. "And who might you be?"
Cicada looked to the new guy and noticed that he didn't come in with shackles. She followed Aron's question, "And why weren't you in binds?"
"The name's Akira," the person introduced. "And I didn't come in chained because I've already been processed. Hell, my Author works here, so I get it better than some. Of course, didn't mean I can get away with anything, apparently." Akira scowled slightly. They crossed their legs, fingers tapping on the sword that hung from they're waist mindlessly.
S thought for a moment, then shrugged.
"As long as you don't try to bolt." He went over to the door, opening it and stepping out.
"Nope," K said casually, popping his 'p,' as he continue continued pull Noel down the hallway.
"You never were, and you never will be."
”Well, you say that but you know I can’t even if I wanted to” Syzen shrugged, following the officer out to wherever he was heading towards.
”Now that’s just mean… how do you define if someone’s a person anyways? Just because one isn’t human, doesn’t mean they can’t have human attributes… right?” Noel brought up, not really enjoying the trip he was forced to go through.
"Your be surprised how many have tried anyway." Soldier S shrugged, having dealt with those kinds of situations before. K could be heard talking nearby, around the next corner.
"Still." Soldier K went quiet for a moment.
"It's kind of like a parrot. Sure, if you hear it talking from another room you might mistake it for a person, but when you are face to face with it, it's still just a parrot. While you were in your world, you could have easily have been taken for a human. But here? You're just a character." He turned the corner with Noel, raising an eyebrow when he saw S and Syzen.
"Thought you were supposed to be in Agent U's room."
"You were taking too long."
Cicada looked at him curiously. She asked with almost no hesitation, "What do you mean 'your Author'?"
"Hm? Oh, so you haven't heard yet? Interesting. Most of the he soldiers here blab about it right away. We're characters, like the ones in fairy tales. Our Authors are the ones who made us, and who control is most of the time." Akira shrugged.
"You get used to it."
"I had heard the term 'charrie' before," Cicada said looking slightly horrified. Someone else controlled her thoughts? Her feelings? That sounded so, so messed up, "I guess, but aren't you, I don't know, off-put by it?"
Aron cocked his head a little, frowning. "So…wait. I don't…" the Golden Prince didn't understand. His family, his battles..were all made up? Written down by someone? That couldn't be right. That…it didn't make sense.
"I was, in the beginning, but you get used to it." Akira sighed, looking over at Aron.
"It can be a lot to take in," they said, empathetic. "Especially when you've been through a lot. Take your time."
"I think my author is a sadist." Aron commented finally, shaking his head quickly. All the battles…made up? But why? What was the purpose?
(i mean…he's sort of not wrong lol)
Cicada sat silent her hands tightening on her staff. All her friends, family, the battles she went through, the fire that haunts her memories at times, all of it was made up by some author? She was furious and could do nothing about it, because, because, she didn't know what she could do.
"Most are. Mine says she does it for character development, but I stopped giving two shits a long time ago. They do it cause they want to, end of discussion." Akira shook their head, sighing.
"Still, roleplaying is a bitch. Especially here."
(This is legit the best thing I've ever read lmao)
(^w^)
(they're becoming self aware)
Aron raised an eyebrow. "Role-playing?" He asked slowly, studying Akira carefully. "What's that?" He almost didn't want to know.
(oh no)
"Yeah. Usually, it's just two or more authors just writing about what we would do in various situations, to big deal, cause it's not our 'canon.' However, one you get brought here, it's very, very rare what happens here isn't canon, so we remember everything." Akira sighed in disgust.
"Do you know how many romances my Author had put the through? It's sickening what lonely nerds are willing to do."
(I honestly love how the characters are basically dissing the authors lmao)
(Don't make fun of yourself. Make your character do it XD)
(XD I'm fucking dying lmao)
Aron shrugged. "I had…two? And then they both ended up dying. Well, one was a traitor and then died, but…" He shrugged again, shaking his head. "I still don't quite understand all this."
Akira nodded, understanding.
"I'm probably doing a horrible job explaining it, but it's not like anyone else will try to help you actually understand. Your agent's just gonna show say the same thing they always do."
Aron frowned. "What are we even doing here?" He responded. "I mean…in this world. Instead of our own." He shook his head, golden strands of hair falling into his face.
"Simple; your Authors wanted you here. That's why anything major happens in our lives." Akira looked at Aron, head tilted.
"Maybe you should sit down…"
Aron shook his head. "No. I'm fine. I don't…I can't sit down." He said softly. "I can't explain. But I…" He shook his head again.
"Okay then," Akira nodded. They put their hands over their sword again, running their thumb over it slightly as they sat there.
"I'm… Not supposed to say this, but… I hope you guys find your Authors. Life's hell for everyone who doesn't."
