"Oh." Sam went silent for a moment, thinking.
"can you… can you still talk to her?" he asked quietly. Almostly hopefully.
D let go of Aron tounder their seat belt, then both he and E came over and pulled Aron up. They opened the back of the trasport, beginning to drag Aron into the large coplex.
Cicada shook her head sadly. She let out a sigh and ran a hand through her short red hair, "No. No, I can't. I mean it makes some sense I suppose. She was made pure fire magic and that a had a conscious and at one point a physical form."
Aron's armor heated up again, and he pressed his lips in a thin line, squirming against their hold. He kept his body stiff.
"Oh. I see." Sam sighed, looking dissapointed.
"I wonder what happened to our powers- are they simply being blocked, or… taken away completely?"
Soldiers E and D looked at each other, then began to go faster. they took Aron down the same hall Cicada had ben taken down, but this time there was another person walking towards them. A woman, wearing a simple blue one piece and brown hair tied back in a bun.The soldiers ignored them, E muttering "Damned charrie" under his breath as they passed her. The woman flinched away.
Soldier S thought for a bit.
"I don't see why not. You know the drill, and your Agent will be coming in this room anyway." Soldier S made his way over, undoing Syzen's bonds.
"Just try not to disappear before you're processed this time, okay?" He chuckled.
"It means both of you were purposefully brought over. If your Author is found, they're gonna face some serious consequences." Soldier K grabbed Noel's arm, beginning to pull him to the exit.
”I can’t promise anything, but alright” Syzen laughed a bit as he said the last part. He wasn’t too surprised with the situation. Perhaps it was because he’d been through something similar before.
”My… Author…?” the figure seemed a bit confused as to what the soldier meant by Author. ”Can you please clarify what that means…?”
"I don't know," Cicada glanced at her hair once more. She threaded it through once more, "I think blocked. My hair's still red, but it could be that it's just permanently that way. I'm still adjusting to… Things."
Soldier S nodded, stepping back again after he was finished.
"K should be here by now," he munched, shaking his head. "He's probably messing with whoever else showed up."
Soldier K rolled his eyes, pulling Noel out of the room and leading him down the hall.
"Guess Syzen kept the truth to himself. You're a character. You know, the ones in stories? Your Author is your creator, and the one who controls you." K smirked.
Sam nodded, running his hand through his hair. "Makes sense, I guess." He winced a bit, pulling his hand away.
"How did the soldiers who brought you here treat you?" He asked.
"Like a piece of shit. Or more accurately a living, breathing, thinking, object," Cicada scoffed leaning back crossing her arms once more letting the staff rest on her lap. She looked at him, "And yours?"
”Well, if you wanna go see, take me with ya. I wanna see who got themselves into this hellhole with me” Syzen said casually, fixing his tie a bit.
”You mean… we’re not people?” the figure asked as he looked down. The term not a person can be a bit mentally damaging to the character.
"They were a bit… Rough, but I'm used to that kind of treatment." Sam shrugged. Two soldiers appeared in the doorway. Sam looked over.
"Let's go," one said gruffly to Sam. Sam sighed, standing up.
"Hopefully I'll see you again?" He said, the statement more of a question.
S thought for a moment, then shrugged.
"As long as you don't try to bolt." He went over to the door, opening it and stepping out.
"Nope," K said casually, popping his 'p,' as he continue continued pull Noel down the hallway.
"You never were, and you never will be."
Cicada looked up to Sam and gave him a grin and a wave, "I'll make sure of it. See ya Sam."
Sam nodded to Cicada, taking a deep breath before stepping out of the room. The moment he stepped over the threshold, he was bound by chains that suddenly appeared. Unprepared, he tripped, falling into the soldiers' waiting arms. They dragged him away, not letting him regain his balance. Now, it seemed like Cicada was alone. The room wasn't well lit, however, so someone else could easily be hiding in the shadows.
Aron kept his body stiff, planting his heels and trying to slow them down. He didn't say a word, twisting his arms against their grip and trying to escape.
The two soldiers glanced at each other when Aron began to struggle, both annoyed. D turned to Aron, kicking the back of his knees and bringing him down. Soldier E sighed heavily but did nothing to change the situation. Eventually, they arrived at the holding room Cicada was sitting. The soldiers tossed Aron in, the bonds falling away into nothing.
Cicada looked up to see a new guy enter. She looked around for a second and couldn't tell if anyone else was there, but there was a new guy for her to take interest in. She waited for the guy to talk since she assumed he would want to yell at the guards.
The soldier holding the gun let out a little sigh.
"Fine. O, I want yu to drive. Me and I will sit with the character." The soldier who had been kicked nodded, walking with a small limp to the driver's seat of the transport. Putting the gun away, the soldier made her way over and opened the back. The shy soldier quickly climbed in, staying far away from Time.
"Let's get going."
Time got into the car, a blank stare still on their face. They hadn't shown any emotion other than the hint of violence from a few minutes ago. Now that that ordeal was over, they stopped talking, if they wantedd to talk, they could. But don't make Time do it.
Aron muttered a curse under his breath as he struggled back to his feet, looking around the cell. His eyes landed on Cicada for a moment, then darted away again.
Cicada looked at the newcomer and gave him a wave. She was leaned back on the bench, "Hey, my name's Cicada. And yours?"
"Aron." He replied calmly. The calm was fake. So, so fake. His gold eyes darted around the cell. Gods, no. He couldn't be captured again. He couldn't.
Cicada could see his eyes darting around. She was used to seeing minute details, spirits that was how she made most of her living for a long time. Finding the minute details to find the best time to swipe an object away. She patted the area next to her, "Nice to meet you Aron. Come on you can sit. I don't bite."
Aron shook his head. "Nope. I'm not sitting." His eyes flashed slightly, and he stepped up to the doorway, trying to peek out.
"Okay," Cicada shrugged and went to tracing the flames with her fingers, "So where are you from? I'm from Spiritia, though you've probably never heard of it."
"My country is Kevra." He replied. He continued looking around, pacing the cell a little bit as he did so.
"Kevra," Cicada said trying the name out, "Can't say I've heard of it. What's it like?"
Once everyone was in the transport, the female soldier closed the doors, and they took off.
"Let me see your hand," the woman said to the other soldier. He held it out gingerly.
"I told you I wasn't cut out of this job. My first retrieval, and this happens." The female soldier started looking over the bite.
"I, don't think like that. You're doing great for your first time!"
After Cicada asked her question, a string of very colorful worse could be heard from the hallway.
"Come on! Can't you guys take a joke?!" Two more soldiers appeared, tossing a person dressed in a black yukata in. The person flipped the soldiers off as they left.
"Screw you too, guys!" They hadn't been bound as Aron and Cicada had been. They huffed, going over to sit in a corner with legs crossed.
