Cyrus woke up looking at the infirmary ceiling. He started to sit up, and as he looked over the length of his body, he saw he had several bruises, and that his knee was completely black and blue. He tried to move a little. It was still slightly swollen, but he could bend it more than the previous night. It still hurt though.
"Hey, I need to get to that meeting," he called out to whoever might be listening.
The medic who had been helping him gave him some more pain meds and came over with an arm brace and a knee brace. He helped Cyrus put them on.
Cyrus stood up slowly with his help, and while his knee was still in a lot of pain, he would almost definitely be fine to walk.
"Oh, here. You'll need this," the medic said, offering Cyrus a crutch that was leaning against the wall.
"Thanks," he replied, sliding back into his shoes.
Luckily someone had brought much more comfortable clothes to change into, including sweatpants and his favorite sweatshirt.
Cyrus started hobbling out, and eventually made it to the meeting room. He got a few looks along the way, but he couldn't bring himself to care enough to say anything.
(The great leader Cyrus, taken down by children. At least that's what the legends say……)
(I feel like people should just start sarcastically calling him "Cyrus the Great" after that ancient Persian leader who most certainly was not taken down by children…)
Uriah had been tapping his finger on the table for awhile now, but hasn't noticed. This meeting was going to be a serious one, so he had to get rid of his goofy side and bring out the more serious one.
As Esmae was walking the halls she noticed the adults walking into a room, and she wondered what they were doing this early? Turning on her heels she made a dash for the other kid's room. "Guys!" The door slammed open and she ran inside. If the adults were talking about a mission or something, they could get good intel. "The adults are having a meeting, I think we should listen in."
Vida rubbed her eyes and sat up in bed, yawning. Her gold hair was an absolute mess, all frizzy and tangled around her face.
"Really? Okay! Let's do it!"
Cyrus made it into the meeting room.
"Uriah," he said in greeting before settling down in one of the chairs.
(Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss)
Luna took a deep calming breath before walking into the room and sitting down quietly at the table near Uriah. She nodded to both Cyrus and Uriah, even though she had just woken up she felt exhausted and could not handle socialization.
Cyrus gave a nod back, and his head and neck started hurting. He bit down on the inside of his mouth to keep from making any sort of sound or making a face.
"Good morning to the both of you." Uriah had his usual smile on and just waited for the meeting to start.
Esmae grabbed Vida's hand and started to drag her across the and down the hall. "The other will catch up if they are interested. There was a ladder at the end of a hall. "Climb up and we can listen from above.
(Night.)
(I guess I'll start the meeting then?)
Sparrow looked up from her designs to see the rest of the group had arrived. She rolled them up and looked at the faces around her. "Y'all have probably guessed that we have a situation. And I'd like to know where you stand on this matter before I move forward. The matter of the kids." She started
"Well… obviously…" Cyrus murmured, "There's something going on there. It's very bizarre…"
He ran a hand through his hair.
"I hope it's nothing we can't take care of."
Uriah nodded. He knew there was more to the story that the kids were either hiding or just don't remember. "Most of them said they don't remember, so what are we supposed to do?"
Esmae pulled Vida up to a area where there was a gap in between the roof and room the adults were in. There was a vent more towards the back which they both could fit, but if the other kids come it might be a problem.
"Why dont they remember. I mean what did that asshole do to them?" She said, getting angry just thinking about it
"That's what I've been trying to figure out. Do you remember when Zhavia didn't remember anything at some points, that was until she saw the tapes she stole. Maybe it's something like that?" Uriah wasn't sure but he had a feeling that they have upgraded their memory tech.
"I guess but that brings us to our second matter, what are we going to do about it?"
"Kill him," Cyrus sighed, "God, I don't know… seems like just about the only way. Of course we need a bigger plan, but that should be part of the ultimate goal."
"The only thing we can do it either send a spy and take them down from the inside or just plan an attack." There wasn't much they could do at this point, but taking them down for good was what they needed.
Esmae frowned the only one who Panther didn't know was Uriah, so he would be the only one they could send for a spy. "What do you think Vida?"
"They are good ideas but phanther knows us pretty well. Excluding you, we were his elite team of young assassins. He would know we sent a spy." Sparrow said
Luna sat back and listened she had her own opinions for the situation. She wasn't sure what to do with the kids, but something definitely had to be done with Panther. Her nightmares continued to reaffrim that notion.
"I could go in as a spy." Uriah leaned forward and raised his hand. If he could get intel and send it back it would be easier to take them down. He wanted to help and if this was the way to do it he would.
Esmae knew this was going to happen. For some reason she knew Uriah would offer to go in as a spy.
"Again, panther would be expecting it." She mumbled then stopped short "unless thats exactly what we want. "
"What do you mean?" He was still in favor of him going if it was anyone. He fiddled with his fingers trying to think of something that may help with the plan.
