"I just feel something is off. The kids show up, have almost no memory of anything, are very scared looking, and now this? It doesnt add up."
"I just feel something is off. The kids show up, have almost no memory of anything, are very scared looking, and now this? It doesnt add up."
"Okay, yeah… I knew something was suspicious from the start though," Cyrus said.
He moved the ice pack off his hand and examined it more closely as he kept talking to her. He gently touched it with his fingertips, but any pressure hurt a lot more than he expected.
(I just realized idk what kind of technology they have??? It's like they have some high-tech stuff, but they're still using weapons that aren't. What kind of medical tech would they have?)
(Its a mix. Theres some high tech advanced crap but also some basic things. Basically think of Tony starks tech)
(I gotcha. So their medicine is probably pretty solid, but they stick to basic weapons because why mess with a good thing?)
(Yep! But even I weapons they add some of their own touches. So like sparrow can create Bows but add different elements to them like electric charged etc)
"We need to take action, and fast" she mutters, more to herself than him.
(Time skip to the morning?)
(Oh, true. And yeah, that's probably a good idea to do soon.)
Cyrus agreed with Sparrow. "Yeah, definitely. It's only a matter of time before disaster strikes. They're out to get us."
The medic had left again and came back with a little device in hand. He used it to scan Cyrus' left hand. Around a certain spot, an indicator light turned from green to red.
"Okay, so there is a break in your hand," he explained, "but I think we already kind of knew that."
He moved it down to Cyrus' knee. The light stayed green.
"Well, then… looks like you're in luck here."
Cyrus let out a sigh of relief. "So you can just slap on a brace and ice it, and I'll be on my feet soon enough?"
He nodded in reply.
"That's good news… So Sparrow, I probably won't be out of commission for too long."
"None of us really listened, and it's not like she did anything to earn your trust, so don't feel guilty." Even Uriah had his doubts, so he was just as guilty. He moved a bit closer and held her hand. "Sorry, but just for a minute." He hoped it would help her help calm her a bit.
"It is true that they already know. They have been through it as well." Esmae knew they went through it as well, everyone but Uriah. He could come in handy. "I know y'all don't like me, but I think we need to work together. Everyone here is underestimating us, we have the knowledge, all the plans and things Panther is planning and doing, we need to use that to our advantage."
(Just going to post this again in case no one saw.)
(Oh yeah, I totally missed that)
"If we can't stop them from going…" Vida said, "Do you think it's a good idea to help them by telling them everything we know? It's not much but it could make a difference."
"I think that's a good idea. I feel like since they left the guild and didn't listen to him that he only became more cruel. Unlike most of you, I remember everything, everything I ever did." She looked to the ground not wanting to remember, but she couldn't push it away either. It was who she is and without this training and horrible things she did, she would've been killed. "I'm the second oldest of four kids, we all got separated. But, I'm going to find them."
(Should we time skip or do yall want to talk more?)
(I would like to time skip but I feel this is a good time for Esmae to interact with the other kids. But we can skip of you want.)
(No,I was just asking, I guess the kids will have a better understanding of the 'mean girl')
(Yeah, cause I don't want her to be the 'mean girl'the whole time, Haha. Character development.)
(Lol yep!)
(Now I have to wait for someone to respond. I'll try and make it short so we can skip to morning.)
Nathan looked at Esmae "why were you locked up when we came here?" He asked her
Esmae looked down at the young boy and sat on an empty bed. "As you can tell already I'm a trouble maker. I was hurt and they tried to help, I didn't want it though. So I tried to run away." She looked at the roof and realized what she has done isn't right, but somehow she couldn't stop herself.
"You have a ferret right?" He asked
"Yeah, but he keeps disappearing on me." She looked at the ground and realized Miki was gone again. "I always wonder where he runs off to." It felt a little weird to be in the same room with the kids who don't like her much.
Vida listened quietly. Maybe Esmea wasn't so terrible after all. Just misunderstood and deeply hurt.
"So you're going to help us now?"
"I mean, I have nothing better to do. And if it helps me find my siblings then, yes I'm going to help." She leaned back on her elbows and looked at each of the kids, they all seemed young and scared, well in her opinion at least.
Vida nodded. "I understand…"
She sank down into the mattress a little more to get comfortable.
Katya looked to Esmae, "Okay, but how do we know we can trust you?"
"None of us really listened, and it's not like she did anything to earn your trust, so don't feel guilty." Even Uriah had his doubts, so he was just as guilty. He moved a bit closer and held her hand. "Sorry, but just for a minute." He hoped it would help her help calm her a bit.
"O-okay," Luna nodded and let him hold her hand. She somehow felt calmer and more anxious and worried then earlier. It was a strange mix of emotions, but she wasn't one to question them.
"Honestly, how can I trust any of you? Trust is a two way street." Esmae shrugged. Could any one of them really trust anyone? Esmae learned to never fully trust anyone, ever.
Uriah felt a little nervous and hoped Luna didn't couldn't notice. "Whenever you want me to let go just tell me."
