"I'm a good dancer. I could teach the younger ones while you teach the older people." The way she said it made Uriah feel like she was calling him old. "Uh, yeah sure." Esmea skipped off to the other kids. "Hey guys, were having a party, does anyone need help with dancing?" Uriah just blinked and turned back to Luna and Cyrus. "Do you two need lessons?"
Luna nodded shyly pulling at her hood, "Y-yeah."
Katya looked to Esmea pointing the wooden sword at the girl, "What party? Why do we need to know how to dance?"
"A birthday party. And people dance at parties that's why you should learn. Unless you want to look like a fool." Esmea pushed the wooden sword out of her face.
"Alright, do you want to have the first lesson?" Uriah held out his hand for her to take. "Cy could you play some music? If you want to do this alone I could ask everyone to leave."
Luna nodded and took his hand. She glanced over to Cy and the kids. She knew she would be bad, and didn't really want others to know, "C-Can we do it alone U-Uriah?"
Katya frowned and put the sword down, "You don't need to dance at parties. Especially at a birthday party."
"It's going to be an old fashioned ball theme so it's not a super lame kid party. And fine, I won't teach you if you don't want." Uriah nodded, "is there an extra room somewhere that we can borrow?" He was excited to finally be able to teach someone to dance.
Katya stuck her tongue out at Esmea, "I bet I'm a better dancer than you."
Luna thought for a second, "I-I don't know. W-wait I think I remember seeing one. Vamonos."
"Yeah, sure whatever. If you knew how to dance you should have said that. Now I wanted time." Esmea sighed. She didn't understand why this girl bothered her so much. Uriah laughed and followed after her. "I can just play music on my phone. Are you excited to learn?"
"S-sort of," Luna could feel her face heat up. She lead them into an empty room she had found earlier shutting the door behind Uriah, "I-I've always wanted to learn, n-never had a reason to."
Katya huffed, Esmea was just a big meanie.
"I'd like lessons later, if you have time!" Cyrus called after before turning his attention to the other kids.
Vida looked up to Esmea. "Can you teach me to dance please?"
She may not have been nice, but she looked really graceful.
"Of course. " Esmea smiled. She walked over to Vida. "When do you want to start?" Her eyes lit up. All she has ever taught anyone is to fight, and now she can do something other than teach someone to kill. Uriah pulled Luna close. "Sorry." He knew she didn't like physical contact very much. "If it's a slow song and you don't feel like dancing much, you just put your arms around my shoulders and I…." He decided it would be better if he just put his hands a little higher up, rather than on her waist. "And you just kind of sway back and forth, in a circle. Usually the guy leads so all you have to do is follow his lead, you know, whoever you dance with." Uriah cleared his throat. I'm being way to awkward, calm down. he played the music, and the song (not sure which song to pick, so choose whatever, haha.) He then began to sway to the music.
(Lol, me in a nutshell.)
"O-okay," Luna put her arms around his shoulders. She felt her face start to heat up and turn red. Her mind couldn't figure out who she could dance with other than, um, Uriah. Especially since everyone else she would be comfortable probably would be dancing with their respected partner. She looked down a little and swayed with him, "Th-thank you for d-doing this."
"Yeah of course." Uriah was having a hard time looking Luna in the eyes, si he just looked over her head. He cursed himself, for being so awkward. "So, during the party, may I have your first dance?" It was only at this moment he could look her in the eyes. The lights in the room were dim and everything seemed to be just a little to… he didn't know how to explain it.
Luna could feel her face go from slightly red to full on shining red. She looked up at his eyes and her hood fell back from her head. Her voice seemed to be a lot more fluttery and stuttery than usual, "U-Um, o-of course. I-I d-don't see why n-not."
"Thank you." He smiled down at her and continued to dance. "This is a lot easier than doing the more complicated things in dance. This all you'll really need to know." Uriah wondered how long he should keep dancing with her like this. "Um, you can tell me when to stop whenever you want."
“R-really? Th-this is it?” Luna asked him. This wasn’t that bad, it was actually kind of nice. She had a little smile on as the pair kept dancing.
"Yeah, but like I said unless you want to do all fancy stuff then yeah this is it." The song ended and Uriah let go of her, no matter how much he wanted to continue dancing…. Yeah, just dancing. "You did good. I-if you want more lessons you can come to me." Now he wasn't sure what to talk about.
"U-um yeah of course," Luna let go and held one of her arms. She could feel the silence start to fill the air. She took a deep breath and look up at Uriah, "S-So how's life?"
Uriah let out the smallest laugh. "It's good. How about yours, are you feeling a bit better?" He sat in a chair that was in the room and turned up the lights with a remote. He didn't want the scene to feel weird, he didn't know if she felt that way, but he did.
Luna didn't understand why the lights made such a difference, or why her heart felt so funny. She had little grin as she leaned against a wall nearby, "Y-yeah. I-I'm getting used to be around this many p-people again. A-and my stutter is getting better."
"That's good, that's good." Uriah tapped his finger on the arm of the chair, while looking at the ground. He had no idea what to say in this situation, it he was starting to feel awkward, which is weird because he didn't classify him as an awkward person.
Luna hummed a little she looked around the room. She tried to think about something to talk about, "D-do you think the party will work? I-I mean it's going to be great and fun, b-but do you think we can get E-Esmea to trust us with it?"
"I think it will work." Or at least he hoped it would work. But, she seems to have opened up a little. "First, maybe she'll get along with the other kids and they'll be a good influence on her." He stopped tapping his finger since it was probably getting annoying.
"H-hopefully," Luna sighed. She didn't really know any of the kids, at all. She hadn't spoken to any of them all she had done was sit back and watch them be scared, "I-I hope the kids adjust to being here well. E-Espicially after what they've been through."
"Yeah." He looked up at Luna. She must know what it's like since she went through the same thing. And then there's himself, who grew up getting whatever he wanted, sure he wasn't happy with his life, but he couldn't pretend that he went through all the stuff they did. And here he was, pretending to be one of them. He sighed and laid his head back on the chair.
