Ariella tensed as she heard the voices in the living room. She looked down at the medical supplies spread out in front of her. She did mental count of everything she had before quickly packing it away. She still didn't any of them enough to believe the wouldn't try to take her medical supplies. She briefly touched the wound on her face as a memory flashed in her head. She shook herself out of it.
"Once he gets to know them he'll be fine," Alastor replied, looking at Zeus who slowly walked over to Marti and sniffed her curiously.
Lucky noted Zeus's behavior and wondered about it. He stepped into the living room of the apartment and immediately noticed Marti and Wally.
"Oh, new dogs. Cute." he said, loudly enough for Alastor to hear. He glanced at June, Lucas and Ronni. "How long they been here and where'd they come from?"

Lucas smiled and started explaining the current situation with the canines. "Ronni and I just found them. We went to Walmart to get a tarp to cover the bed of the truck, in case it rains and this guy tried to hurt us, we survived but we took his dogs, they had no name tags so we named the puppy, who's a boy: Wally, and the mom, Marti."
He turned to look at June.
"June whatever your middle name is, whatever your last name is." He said sternly. "You do not need alcohol atβ" he checked his watch "one in the afternoon, you'll have a migraine before nightfall."
She stuck her tongue out, "I can hold my alcohol. And I don't have more to my name" she smirked, lying, partially. She had given herself her last name. But otherwise didn't have a middle name.

Lucas rolled his eyes and turned away from her, looking directly at Lucky.
"So how did your expedition into the outside world go?" He asked seriously. "Only asking because ours ended with us almost dying."
Lucky nodded along, until Lucas said they'd been attacked. "Somebody tried to hurt you? Are you both ok?" He looked from Lucas to Ronni and back, his gaze suddenly intense.
He wanted to be sure they were ok, but he also wanted to know if the group should be worried about someone hostile nearby.
Ronni nodded quickly, and pulled her hand across her throat.
Threat is dead.
Lucky got the point, but kept his eyes on them, checking them over from a distance. "What happened, Lucas?"
Lucas glanced briefly at Ronni before he turned his gaze back to Lucky.
"I mean we went into Walmart, there was this guy who attacked us, but Ronni saved my life, so she took care of it." He told Lucky, careful to keep his voice calm. "Nothing to worry about really."
Lucky managed to keep his expression more or less neutral. "Saved your life? Sounds pretty serious."
He didn't know either of them very well, but the thought of them dying in a Walmart to some guy was justβ¦
Well. He'd adopted the group, accidentally, and losing them was something he was going to work very hard to avoid.
Lucas looked at Lucky and then in a friendly way, slung one arm across his shoulders.
"Lucky," he reassured his friend. "We're fine. I promise."
Ronni knew he wasn't going to take that as an asnwer, so she very quickly formed a gun with her thumb and pointer finger and tipped it slightly.
I shot himβ¦
Lucky saw it, and nodded at her, before exhaling, a long breath out. "I'm glad you're alirhgt, Lucas. Just⦠be careful, friend."
Lucas nodded solemnly and stood up straight, retracting his arm from around Lucky's shoulder.
"I will," he said seriously. "You can never be to careful in a world like this one."
"how else would you drink it? warm?" he shook his head.

(ahh sorry)
Liam shrugged "upside down maybe?"
(ahh sorry)
Liam shrugged "upside down maybe?"
"that'd be interesting to watchβ¦you got everything yet?" Devon asked.
"that'd be interesting to watchβ¦you got everything yet?" Devon asked.
Leo looked through his bag and nodded. "I think so. want to head back?" he asked walking to the door.
Leo looked through his bag and nodded. "I think so. want to head back?" he asked walking to the door.
"is there another option? Cuz I don't think there is" he shrugged, following Liam.
He walked back to the door to their apartment, pausing to listen before flinging opening the door. "We have returned!"
Lucas looked at Liam and smiled lightly, standing up and straightening his beige, tan and black flannel.
"I think we might head out soon." Lucas told them all and then looked back to Liam.
"We got new dogs too."
Ronni jumped when they came through the door. She grabbed at Lucas, only for him to stand up. She collected herself, only to be surprised again when Lucas said they might leave soon.
Lucky voiced what she was thinking. "Lucas, do you think it's a good idea to head out in late afternoon? We wouldn't get very far, unless you're planning on traveling through the night, whichβ¦"
Wasn't a smart idea.
Ariella stepped out of the room quietly and back to the living room. Her eyes landed on Lucky briefly before looking away. She was getting antsy being held uo in the small apartment with so many bodies. She was ready to go. Go anywhere. Her hands were twitching and she started fiddling with them.
Lucky looked up when she stepped out, and smiled in her direction. She wouldn't look at him, so that was concerning, but. She'd at least broken Devon out of his silence, he was talking to Liam just fine.
Ariella saw Devon and Liam and her lips tilted up ever so slightly. Devon was sweet, if not antsy. She hoped Liam would warm him up. They would be cute together, and in another life, she could see herself gushing over them. Now, she only hoped they didn't get too distracted that it got them killed.
She made it a point not to look at Lucky. She was mad at him. She was mad at him. She was mad at him. He had raised his voice at her and it had hurt her more deeply than she had expected. She could feel her eyes watering as she recounted his words, remembering his tone with her.
Ronni noted Ariella pointedly not looking at Lucky, and remembered her and Devon's commitment not to talk to him. He'd raised his voice a bit, but in a world where Ronni had just had to shoot someone, she didn't feel like that was so awful.
They were all back together, so she stood up and tugged Lucas's sleeve. She motioned around them and made a writing motion.
We should inventory what we have before we go.
Lucas scanned the room and ran a palm across his face.
"I mean, yeahβ¦we won't leave until tomorrow morning but that's soon I guess." He managed to say through a wavery voice. He let the hand rest over his eyes and took a deep breath.
"We're going to inventory before we leave." He said quickly, then sat down on the floor, hard. He kept his hand pressed to his eyelids and left his eyes closed, the cool colors dancing under his eyelids like ballerinas.
Lucky watched his reaction, his face sympathetic. "I mean, if the rest of the group feels like leaving now, I'm down, butβ¦" He left the thought unfinished.
Ronni sat down next to Lucas, and looped an arm across his shoulders. "What's wrong?" She was quiet, but the fact she was speaking and not gesturing showed she was worried about what was aking him react like this.
June hummed, "I still think we should find some tents or something, Because with this large of a group, it'll be hard finding a place to stay." she walked over to Liam, "and you, where is my drink? I shalt never fail a dare"
Devon rolled his eyes at June, putting a hand on her shoulder for a second as he walked past her. A sort of greeting. He leaned against the bedroom doorway, facing the group. "I think, we should find another room, for tonight, then head out in the morning, it's to cramped in here as is."
