Addie laughed. “Well, I hope you end up actually enjoying it.”

"I'm sure I will. You have good taste, as proven by your choosing to date me," Archer declared with a smirk.

“Or is it the other way around?” Addie mused, smiling widely. “We’ll never know.”

Archer chuckled. "I suppose we won't, will we?"

“Nope,” Addie said, taking another sip of water. “So on a scale of one to ten, how much do you like tomato soup?”

"I would say… 6.5," Archer answered. "You?"

Addie shrugged. “About the same.” She looked expectantly in the direction of the kitchen. “But I hear everything here is amazing.”

"You heard that, huh? From whom?" Archer asked, holding back a chuckle.

“I’m an American tourist, Archer,” Addie laughed. “I over-researched everything.”

Archer laughed a bit. "Of course you did. You would have, too."

“Precisely,” Addie smiled. “Because of this inherent trait of mine, I know a great place down the street for dessert. Once we finish lunch.”

"Do you? Are you wanting to go there, then?" Archer asked, raising an eyebrow and smirking.

“I mean, we don’t have to…” Addie said.

"No, we totally can!" Archer declared. "I don't have to pay for it, after all."

Addie laughed. “Good point.”

"You're going to regret paying for this later," Archer teased.

“Will I, though? Then you will have abandoned all traces of chivalry,” Addie grinned.

Addie laughed. “I have broken the Polite Archer Machine!”

Addie reached forward and patted his arm. “I know you will.” She couldn’t keep a smile off her lips.

(I have to write a "detailed report" for Physics… Not excited.)

Archer glared at her for a moment before smirking. "We'll go as soon as we finish."

“Works for me,” Addie said, leaning back. “Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure they’re bringing out our soup now.”

Archer looked up and saw that the waiter was, indeed, bringing their food out. He thanked him as the food was set out in front of them.

Addie smiled her thanks and, once the waiter’s back was turned, picked up her spoon and began to eat her lunch. “This is really good,” she said between mouthfuls.
