Archer chuckled before ordering both his own and Addie's food and drinks, since they were the same thing, after all. Once it was ordered, he took their table number and led Addie to a table, pulling a chair out for her.
Archer chuckled before ordering both his own and Addie's food and drinks, since they were the same thing, after all. Once it was ordered, he took their table number and led Addie to a table, pulling a chair out for her.
“Thank you,” Addie smiled, sitting down.
Archer pushed the chair in and sat across from her. He shot her a charming grin as he sat down.
"So. Any plans after this?" he asked.
“My day is free,” Addie laughed, leaning back in her seat. “What about you?”
"Free as well. Could I, maybe, take you out for lunch?" Archer asked with a slight grin.
Addie smiled. “That would be fun. I’ve been wanting to go to this place down the street for a while… oh, and I call paying. I’d feel bad if you ended up funding fifty percent of my meals.”
"No, no, no. I refuse to allow you to pay. I invited you, I get to pay for you," Archer argued with a slight laugh.
“But you paid for coffee,” Addie argued back, though not harshly. “It’s only fair.”
"Yes, but I'm the one asking you. It's chivalry," Archer countered. He wouldn't let her pay, no matter how much she argued.
“But I’m the one agreeing,” Addie said, crossing her arms. “Plus, you got us that awesome reservation last night, so….”
"Yes, but it was free," Archer reminded her. "So it doesn't really count."
“But you set it up,” Addie reasoned.
"Hardly. It's always set up. I just so happened to meet you and decide that you were a good use of my constant reservation," Archer stated. "Plus, it's the chivalrous thing to do."
Addie laughed. “You and your chivalry. Trying to prove it’s not dead, huh?”
"It is not dead, chéri," Archer declared with a chuckle.
“Well, darling,” Addie smiled, showing she had understood and that her author was fluent in Google translate, “you are a very good argument for your cause.”
(Lol. Same.)
Archer chuckled. "Does that mean you will let me pay?"
“Nope,” Addie laughed. “Not a change, Sir Archer.”
"Then I'll just have to resort to desperate measures, then, won't I?" Archer asked with a smirk.
“Mhmm,” Addie smiled. “Sure. You can try.”
"Trust me," Archer said, leaning forward with his smirk still on his lips. "I will. And I will make it happen."
Addie crossed her arms. “That’s what they all say. You clearly haven’t enountered the rare Addie in her natural habitat.”
Archer chuckled and leaded back in his seat. Their food and drinks were brought to them, and he thanked the waitress.
"Well, mon cher, you haven't seen me in my natural habitat," he declared.
“Yes, I have,” Addie smiled. “Yesterday. Quite a lot, actually.”
Archer scoffed. "All right, fine," he acquiesce. "But I'll pay for lunch one way or another."
