//that just sounds horrible…. is “the system” our current model of society?
Addie smiled her thanks and, once the waiter’s back was turned, picked up her spoon and began to eat her lunch. “This is really good,” she said between mouthfuls.
(No, it's the heliocentric system.)
"I bet it is," Archer said with a smile before he started in on his own.
(Sure. To when they finish? Or go to dessert?)
(Wow, thanks. Lol.
Um… How about… Dessert.)
"So, what do they serve here, anyway?" Archer asked as they crossed the street to the place Addie had suggested for dessert.
//lol okey dokey
“What Americans think of as traditional French stuff, but what you probably think of as regular stuff,” Addie said, opening the door for him.
"Ah… So, like, crème brûlée?" Archer said, shooing her inside as he took the door from her.
“Precisely,” Addie nodded, smiling at Archer’s (inhales) cHIVALRY. (:P)
Archer chuckled as he stepped in after her. "Sounds great."
“It also smells great,” Addie commented, immediately starting to walk toward the counter. “And looks great.”
"I bet it will taste great and feel great in our stomachs," Archer chuckled.
“I was thinking the same,” Addie grinned, perusing the options.
"And if I had a sixth sense I bet that would be great, too!" Archer laughed.
Addie laughed. “Exactly!”
The cashier person came up to the counter and asked them what they’d like. Addie answered in choppy French that she’d like the crème brûlée, please.
"Un pot de crème au chocolat, s'il vous plaît," Archer ordered with a polite smile.
(Crap… Sure. To when they're done?)
(I assume I'm starting again. Lol.)
Archer leaned back in his seat with a contented hum. "Well, thank you for the dessert, mon cher."
//:P
Addie finished chewing the last bit of her dessert. “You’re welcome, mon chéri.”
(Lol.)
Archer chuckled. "How much French do you actually know?"
“Well, I tried to learn some before I left home, but I didn’t learn as much as I wanted to,” Addie shrugged.
"But you know enough that you can understand what you need to know, then?" Archer asked.
Addie thought for a moment. “I guess it depends on what I need to know. But yeah, probably. Why?”
