“What?” Addie dropped her third bag, she stood up so fast. “Really?!”
“What?” Addie dropped her third bag, she stood up so fast. “Really?!”
Archer grunted as he picked her bag up, straightening to look at her.
"Oui. Really. Would I joke about this?" he asked, searching her face to gauge her reaction.
It took a moment for it to dawn on her, but, slowly, a grin spread on Addie’s face. “Really? You’re not just… you’re not joking?”
She stared at Archer before nearly shouting, “Yay!” and dropping the bags she’d just picked up to hug him.
"Woah!" Archer laughed as Addie suddenly flung herself into his arms. He dropped the bags he was holding and wrapped his arms around her, spinning her in a circle. "I'm glad you're happy about this."
Addie pulled back. She was still hugging him, but now they were in that romantic pose (you know?) where they are hugging and now there noses are like an inch apart.
“Happy? Archer, to be honest, I thought I was leaving you forever. Which would’ve sucked,” Addie laughed.
"I could never leave you forever," Archer said softly, his gaze flicking down to her lips.
“Ditto,” Addie whispered, her voice quiet. (Wow i’m redundant)
(Lol. Yeah, wow…)
Archer's gaze flicked between Addie's lips and her eyes a few times before he forced himself to pull back. He sighed internally as he bent down to grab her bags.
//have you seen that one Tumblr post that quotes New Moon, and it literally says, “(Character) chuckled. ‘Ha ha ha,’ he laughed.” or something like that
Addie picked up the bag that Archer couldn’t hold. She thought nothing of Archer’s lack of baggage. “Is your stuff already packed, then?”
(Oh my word, yes… Like, why???)
"Yeah, it's in the trunk," Archer said with a nod. He gestured toward the door the best he could. "Shall we?"
//right??? When I read that, I honestly felt much more confident in my writing…
How would something like that even get published???
“Yep,” Addie grinned, walking beside him to the car. “I can’t believe it. You’re really coming?”
(I know! Why didn't her editor say something, though?!?)
"I really am," Archer chuckled, digging a key out of his pocket and unlocking the car. He opened the trunk and carefully set Addie's things inside, then waited for her to put the rest in.
//that’s what I thought when I first saw it!
Addie placed her last bag ontop of her other two, then walked around to the passenger side of the car. She opened the door and got in, then waited for Archer.
Archer shut the trunk and walked over to the driver's seat, climbing in carefully. He started the car, buckled up, and glanced over at Addie. "Seatbelt?"
“Right,” Addie nodded, buckling her seatbelt. “There.” She couldn’t keep the smile from her face. “You’re coming with me. Wow. I haven’t gotten over that, yet.”
Archer chuckled. "Yeah, it was just a spur-of-the-moment kinda thing, I guess. I get to spend more time with you, and I get to see America."
“It’s a win-win,” Addie laughed. “Well, we’ll have to go to New York, first, though, since that’s where my flight stops.”
"What state do you live in?" Archer asked as he drove toward the airport.
//ahh… states close to NY….. hmmmmmmm
“Pennsylvania,” Addie said, not making it up on the spot like her writer just did. “‘Bout a two-ish hour drive from New York. But that’s without traffic, which never happens, so…”
"All right. Sounds cool," Archer said with a nod.
“Yep,” Addie nodded.
//time skip
(Okay. To when?)
//I was thinking the airport… but it’s up to you
Sorry that last comment was really blunt
(Lol. It's okay. The airport sounds good.)
Archer pulled his and Addie's suitcases out of the trunk. They'd made it to the airport and were now in a parking ramp for rental vehicles.
He handed Addie one of her suitcases with a smile, then shouldered a backpack of his own.
//okey dokey :D
Addie took her backpack and slung it over her shoulder, then began rolling her suitcase towards the door.
