“Why isn’t there a lift in here?” Archer wondered as they reached the ground.
“Why isn’t there a lift in here?” Archer wondered as they reached the ground.
“There should be!” Addie nodded. “Though I think this thing was built before elevators… they added one to the pedestal, though.”
“Hm. I suppose it might be too hard to add a lift to such an important landmark,” Archer hummed.
“True. It might impact the structural integrity… I hear the thing’s already falling apart at an alarming rate already,” Addie said wisely, as though she had not had to read that article for school at some point.
Archer hummed and nodded. “Makes sense. It is an old statue.”
“Yep,” Addie nodded. “At least one hundred and twenty five, probably more.” (Have they reached the bottom yet I can’t remember.)
(Yeah, they did. Lol.)
"So… Where were we going for lunch?" Archer asked, taking her hand in his.
//ahh okay I will edit super quick
(Lol. Okay.)
//done!
:D
“I was thinking Blue Hill. It’s this really good place on Washington Place; has the best burgers I’ve ever had,” Addie said happily, swinging their hands back and forth. “If that works for you,” she added quickly.
“It sounds perfect, mon cher,” Archer assured her with a grin.
“Yay! It’s this way… yeah, turn left,” Addie said, bouncing slightly on her heels. “Not gonna lie, it’s a white tablecloth kind of place, but it’s pretty relaxed, so we should be good.”
“It sounds great. You know… This will be my first real meal in America,” Archer pointed out. “I’m not counting breakfast.”
“That’s a good point,” Addie said, nodding. “Well, I really hope you like it.”
“I’m sure that I will. But not quite as much as I like you,” Archer said, looking at her with a smirk.
Addie laughed. “Well, I’m amazing. How could you ever like anything better than me?” She imitated a hair flip, but didn’t do it for reals, because her hair was up.
“Hm, I don’t think I could,” Archer chuckled, grinning as he watched her.
“Exactly,” Addie said happily, grinning. “Also, we’re here.”
“Oh, wonderful! Food!” Archer laughed, reaching out to hold the door open for her.
“Aww yeah!” Addie laughed, walking through the door.
Archer chuckled as he stepped through after her and looked around. It was nice, and not super busy.
Addie walked up to the podium thingy and asked for a table for two. The receptionist (?) nodded and, picking up two menus, instructed them to follow her.
As soon as they were seated with the menus placed in front of them, Archer glanced over his. "Hm… These all look good…"
“I know, right? I’ve always had the cheeseburger, but the ham sounds good, too,” Addie mused, perusing the menu as though she hadn’t a care in the world. Which I guess she didn’t, at this point. Oh well.
//I just looked up the menu and I guess Blue Hill is one of those four-course-meal places… do you want to just make it up, tho? :P
(Lol. Yeah, probably. Just pretend it’s a normal restaurant.)
“Hm… The steak sounds good,” Archer hummed, his stomach growling at the thought.
//XD ok
A few minutes later, the waitress came over and asked what they wanted. Addie, handing over the menu, said, “The cheeseburger, please. No tomatoes.” The waitress nodded, scribbling the order down on her notepad, and then turned to Archer.
"I will get a steak, cooked medium-rare, please," Archer asked, smiling politely.
The waitress scribbled down Archer’s order, nodded, and left.
//should we time skip?
(Sure, to when?)
