//ooh I’ve had that!!!
Addie smiled. She looked down at the food. “It smells so good!”
(It's amazing. I seriously love it so much.)
"Mm, yeah. Let's eat, then," Archer said as his stomach rumbled.
//:D
“Agreed,” Addie said, picking up her fork.
Archer started in on his food. By the time he was done, he still wasn't full. He looked longingly at the dessert menu.
Addie started to say something about how good the food was, but then she noticed the direction of Archer’s gaze. Laughing softly, she said, “I guess you want dessert, huh?”
"I always want dessert," Archer admitted sheepishly, smiling. "You go ahead and pick something. Whatever you want."
“Ooh, rash decision,” Addie laughed. “I’m good with whatever, really. You choose.”
"No, really. I insist that you pick. We can be surprised since you won't know what it means and I won't know what it is," Archer said with a smile.
Addie smiled, picking up the dessert menu. “Sounds good.” She perused it until she found something she thought sounded like it did not have snails. “Okay, this one.”
"Okay, now don't show me. Wait until the waiter comes back and show him," Atcher said, grinning. This was kind of exciting for him.
“I’m very concerned for you,” Addie said. “I have no idea what you—- or I, for that matter—- will actually be consuming….”
Archer chuckled. "Trust me, we'll be fine. They have the best desserts here."
“Okay,” Addie said, leaning back in her chair and setting the menu on the table. “I trust you, and I very much hope you’re right.”
Archer smiled at her.
A waiter came and asked if they wanted dessert, and Archer explained that Addie would be ordering. The waiter turned to her expectantly.
Addie held up the menu and pointed to the dessert. “Don’t laugh-“ she started, but the waiter was already scribbling down the order. “It’s supposed to be a surprise for him. Plus, I can’t pronounce it.”
The waiter simply nodded and too their order to the kitchen.
"This is exciting," Archer declared.
Addie laughed. “I hope I don’t inadvertantly kill you with a poison disguised as a dessert…”
"I would be very surprised if that happened. Especially since I would suddenly be dying," Archer joked.
“Death is no joke,” Addie said, though she was smiling. “And I suppose we’d both be dead, huh?”
"Not if you're an assassin trying to kill me, so you just watch me eat and I die first," Archer said with a shrug.
“Here’s the deal,” Addie said, leaning forward. “We eat the dessert at the same time. Also, I swear I’m not an assassin. That would be weird.”
"That would be weird. It's a deal," Archer laughed, sticking his hand out.
Addie laughed, shaking his hand. “Deal.”
"And now we wait…"
“And now we wait,” Addie agreed.
And the waiter finally came with their dessert, which was covered by a silver lid. When it was taken off, a molten chocolate cake was revealed.
"Good pick," Archer said, practically drooling.
Addie laughed, picking up her spoon. “It looks so good.”
"That it does, that it does," Archer agreed, nodding as he picked up his own spoon. "On three?"
Addie nodded. “One, two, (I want them to say three together that would be adorable but you don’t have to lol) three!” Addie took a bite of cake and ate it. To her delight, it did not immediately appear to be poisoned.
(No, that's cute! I did, too.)
Archer did the same and nearly burned his tongue on the melted chocolate. Once he could taste it, he closed his eyes, savoring the flavor.
