Meg smiles, accepting his hand and standing with him.
Meg smiles, accepting his hand and standing with him.
He smiles. “Want to go now?”
“Can I get dressed first?” she giggles. “I just woke up when you knocked on the door.”
He laughs softly. “Right right…take your time. I’ll wait outside for you.” He smiles, walking out the door and quietly shuts it.
Meg smiled and quickly ran back to her room, throwing the blanket back on her bed and changed, getting cleaned up.
Because she knew Aaron was waiting, she didn't take long to get ready and quickly left a note for her mother before joining him outside. “Ready.”
He smiles brightly, offering his arm. “Don’t mind the guards if they act stupid.” He smirks.
“As long as I'm with you, I'm not going to worry about them too much.” she smiles as she accepted his arm.
He smiles and leads her to the palace, ignoring the guards. “Mother! Father! I have a guest!”
His parents immediately rush out. “Oh- why hello dear.” The queen says, her voice soft.
The palace was just as Aaron said. The interior design looked like it came from a fairytale and the soft lighting was just enough to fully relax someone. Maybe even put them to sleep.
Meg blushes at the casual way Aaron calls out to the King and Queen but manages to still curtsy when they arrived.
The king smiles. “Well, polite looking girl you are.” He hums. “I see why my son was sneaking out every day.”
The queen elbows him and clears her throat. “You are perfectly welcome here any time you wish. If you make my son happy then I have no problem with you, my dear.”
Aaron huffs, “Mother you make it sound like I’m a gold hoarding dragon-“
“Thank you, your majesties.” Meg replies, feeling her blush darken at the King’s comment. Though she had to bite her lip to keep from laughing at Aaron’s comparison.
The king and queen smile, then walk away talking to each other in hushed voices.
Aaron rolls his eyes, mocking them. “Oh finnaly he has a friend.” He smirks, “Come on.” He gently pulls her to another part of the palace.
“I believe my mother said something similar when she met you.” Meg points out, chuckling as she let's Aaron lead her around.
Aaron laughs softly, leading her to a room. “Now. Try not to squeal.” He opens the door, revealing a room filled with art supplies of all kinds and several canvases covered with beautiful scenery and some even had people painted on them.
Meg gasps at the sight when she sees the beautiful art all through the room. “You did all these?”
He smiles. “Mhm…” he walks in, motioning for her to follow. He hands her a wooden box. “This is all my watercolors. And i keep my oil pastels in a separate box.” He smiles. “I’ve also got paints, charcoal…everything…” he seemed to be getting more and more excited.
“This is incredible!” she smiles widely, accepting the box only because she didn't want it to fall. “I think you may actually love art more than I do.” she laughs as she follows him.
He laughs, “Maybe-“ he digs around for a moment, then pulls out a large canvas with a scenery piece. He smiles and leads her over to his window and sets the painting down. It was an exact replica of the view from the window leading to the town.
“Wow…” Meg whispers in awe. “That is… breathtaking.” she says, starting at the image and the view. “How long have you worked on this?”
He smiles brightly. “It took a month to get every tiny detail…”
“That's amazing. And very dedicated.” she smiles.
He hums. “I wanted to preserve its beauty…thats one of the reasons why i do art…”
Meg nods. “I can understand that. One of the reasons why I draw is to capture a moment and to help remember it.”
He smiles, seeming to look more relaxed. He looks at her. “Do you wanna use colors for the first time?”
“Are you sure?” she asks, looking at him in surprise.
He smiles brightly and nods. “Yep. Since you’re stubborn and won’t let me give you any…ill let you use mine.”
“I… I don't want to take anything…” she trailed off. “I would love to paint something for you. If you really don't mind.”
He chuckles, “chose whichever canvas you want. I have a lot of different sizes.”
“Thank you.” Meg smiles, though her fingers tremble as she hesitately picks up a medium-sized blank canvas. “I still can't believe I'm doing this.”
He hums and sits down, getting out a sketchbook and starts drawing.
