“Would you tell me?” she asks softly. “How bad is it?”
“Would you tell me?” she asks softly. “How bad is it?”
He sighs, “It’s…enough to kill me if it’s not managed properly…I’m actually lucky since my parents are able to afford the remedies…” he bites his lip, sucking in a breath. “If I didn’t have the money…I would have been dead by now…”
Meg’s eyes widen as she covers her mouth in initial shock. But she forces herself to calm down and lets out a sigh. “I'm sorry. I expected it to be serious but… I’m glad at least that you can get what you need.”
He nods, shifting in his seat. He sighs, “Well…enough of the sadness…” he forces a smile and looks at her painting. He always tried to ignore the negativity surrounding him. Maybe even tried to forget he was sick. Of course the doctors said that wasn’t all to healthy either…but it kept him sane.
“Alright.” she agrees, letting go of his hand and turning back to the picture.
He hums, “it’s beautiful…” he mutters.
“Thank you.” Meg smiles softly. “It was more fun than I thought it would be. Using colors.” she admits, looking at the sky she had painted. It looked like it could have been either dusk or dawn with the shades of red and dark blues she had used.
Aaron smiles warmly, seeming to relax. “Im glad you enjoyed it…and feel free to take it home with you.”
“I thought I was painting it for you.” she chuckles, even though she wasn't against the idea now that the picture was finished. “Either way, it still needs to dry more.”
He laughs softly, crossing his legs in his chair. “Well then. How much shall I pay this wonderful artist for this masterpiece?”
Meg laughs, shaking her head. “Being able to make such a picture is enough. Consider it a gift for us being friends.” she smiles.
Aaron smiles brightly. “Well…thank you…” he hands her his sketchbook. He shows her a drawing of her painting. “You are a very nice specimen to draw…”
Meg accepts the book and blushes once she sees what he drew. “Thank you… Though I could say the same of you.” she points out with a small smile, referring to the drawing of him that she had made when they first met.
Aaron blushes slightly, looking down and clearing his throat. “Th-thank you-“ he mutters.
Meg giggles at the sight of his blush before looking at his drawing again.
He rubs his face in attempt to shoo away the redness creeping onto his face.
“You really have an eye for details.” she compliments, handing the book back to him.
He takes it, “Th-thank you…” he mumbles, his face only getting more and more red. He huffs softly. augh…stupid face…
She giggles again. “You look like you could use some fresh air.” she suggests, giving him a way out.
He grumbles softly, pushing a window open. “Just my stupid self-“
“You’re not stupid, Aaron.” she chuckles. “Maybe a little awkward socially… Or it could just be me.” she shrugs.
Aaron pouts. “hey I try to have good social skills!” He fake sniffles, acting like he was crying.
Meg chuckles at the protest and walks over to stand beside him. “I’m sure your social skills are perfect for a prince.” she agrees, lightly teasing before she hears the sound. “Are you alright?” she asks in concern.
He smirks at her and pokes her. “Gotcha.”
Meg squeaks in surprise before giving Aaron a playful glare. “Oh, very mature for a prince.” she teases.
