She smiled at his reaction. “Oh, don’t look so offended, sir. All I’ve done is ask you a question. You can handle a simple question, right? Maybe even add a ‘thank you for asking’?”

@Tired-but-passionate

“Yeah? What kind of consequences? I’m curious.” She brought up a hand for her jaw to lean on. If they were severe enough, they would leave him alone. It didn’t really matter to them, though.

@Tired-but-passionate

(Dindjjs sorry I’ve been very busy)

Indigo laughed. “Fair point, Your Highness. Well, you’re already starting to get boring anyway, so I’ll leave you alone.” She turned around and began walking back to their room.

@Tired-but-passionate

Once they were back in their room, she shut the door just enough to leave a small crack. Crouching down on the floor, she peeked through the crack. She took note of where Riven was and how much wine was in the bottle on the table, then waited.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Riven eventually grabbed a book and flopped down on the couch, and poured himself a glass of wine from the poisoned bottle, setting the bottle back down and recorking it, before leaning back against the couch cushions and opening his book.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(OKAY I THOUGHT OF SOMETHING: so. the poison sort of works. enough that most people think Riven is dead. Indigo ends up having to flee bc people get suspicious. she becomes a larger part of the rebellion, and the rebellion begins to grow. somehow they become some sort of spokesperson for the rebellion, and they watch as the royal family begins to fight among themselves (suspicions for Riven's poisoning fell on one of his siblings, who place the blame on someone else, and around the blame goes). then suddenly all communications from the palace (which is like a tiny fortified city in itself) cease. no one goes in or out for a week. no one is able to scry the interior to see what has happened. then a week later the gates open and one person comes out with a missive. turns out that Riven survived his "death", but the magic required to bring him back from the brink has fucked up something inside of him, and he's mentally unstable + more powerful than any Fae is supposed to be, and he killed the rest of his family and took the throne in the most violent coup the country has ever seen. and now he wants to speak to Indigo, because whoops, he knows it was her?? what do you think?)

@Tired-but-passionate

(Wow. Um. I do love this, the only thing is that I do not think that Indigo would stay with the rebellion. She would try to make it on their own. Ig he could still like, summon them tho?)

@ElderGod-Icefire

(oh oof yeah i did wonder about that)
(i mean either option works? i just thought if they were still with the rebellion it would be easier to RP through the interim between her running away and the coup happening, bc i could use Lor/other rebellion characters to interact with Indigo. but yeah like. she would have to be willing to stay with the rebellion or rejoin them or something)

@Tired-but-passionate

(Yeahhh. It’s just the fact that she has these personal goals that makes staying more difficult. They would want to accomplish those goals first before they start thinking about rebellion or social change, because they want to establish an identity for themselves that’s outside of their social rank as a ‘human’ slave. But that could take literal years, so uh)

@ElderGod-Icefire

(yeah that makes sense. mayyybe she goes to them and says that since she did this for them they need to protect her, but she doesn't join them? like. they get put into one of the rebellion's safehouses, but they aren't part of the rebellion?)

@ElderGod-Icefire

(i mean if that's okay with you! i don't wanna pressure you if it doesn't feel like something that Indigo would do, I'm just trying to come up with stuff to further the plot lol)

@Tired-but-passionate

(Oh no i totally get that, I really appreciate you coming up the idea ^^ I can definitely extrapolate a motivation and thought process from these actions, so yeah we can go with it)

@Tired-but-passionate

Riven eventually grabbed a book and flopped down on the couch, and poured himself a glass of wine from the poisoned bottle, setting the bottle back down and recorking it, before leaning back against the couch cushions and opening his book.

Indigo waited, studying him. It wasn’t too hard. The amount of time she had been asleep now made them quite energetic now, though it made this a little boring. She just kept their eyes on the glass, and busied themself by picking at her nails.

@Tired-but-passionate

Indigo sat back and stared. The letter wasn’t finished, as there was a certain piece of information she wanted to include. They glanced back over to the door, then went back over and cracked it open as quietly as they could.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Riven was starting to look vaguely uncomfortable, now halfway through the second glass. He kept shifting in his seat, pulling at his clothing as if it was constricting him.

@Tired-but-passionate

Indigo studied the prince, emotionless, then glanced to the wine bottle and the wine glass. It seemed that he had gotten seconds… she decided to wait a bit more, to see how much else he would drink.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He eventually finished the second glass, and now seemed just a little uncomfortable. He closed his book and set it down, along with the wine glass, and stood up. He went over to his bedroom, changed into pajamas, and got into his bed, curling up beneath the blankets.
