(perfect, to Riven coming back?)
(perfect, to Riven coming back?)
(Yeah why not)
(okay!)
(bump?)
(fuckkkk sorry!!)
(It’s alright! No pressure!)
Riven returned after a long time, sitting down on his couch and letting out a loud sigh. He seemed tired, and irritated, though why precisely he was irritated was anyone's guess. Maybe it was just because of Indigo's presence.
Indigo had been asleep for a lot of that time, but eventually they woke up and got themself some dinner. She was still finishing her food when Riven came back, and almost thought nothing of it until they remembered the wine. Quickly finishing her food, they looked to the door. She wanted to watch for if or when he drank, but the question of how to do so without looking suspicious was in the air.
Riven shook his head a little, then got up and went over to his bookshelf, gaze skimming over the books there.
It would be fun to annoy him again, she thought. Letting out a breath, they slipped out of the cot and opened the door.
“Your Highness,” they greeted. “You need anything?”
He looked at her, irritation almost immediately visible on his features. "No, I do not. I would have summoned you if I did."
She smiled at his reaction. “Oh, don’t look so offended, sir. All I’ve done is ask you a question. You can handle a simple question, right? Maybe even add a ‘thank you for asking’?”
He glared at her, shaking his head a little bit and not deigning to give her a response.
“No? Oh, what a shame.” They shook her head, and tutted. “Looks like His Highness still thinks acting like a child is perfectly fine.”
He glared at her. "If you do not shut your mouth and return to your quarters, there will be consequences for your insolence."
“Yeah? What kind of consequences? I’m curious.” She brought up a hand for her jaw to lean on. If they were severe enough, they would leave him alone. It didn’t really matter to them, though.
He snorted faintly. "Don't test me. I don't have the patience for this. And I do not owe answers to you."
(Dindjjs sorry I’ve been very busy)
Indigo laughed. “Fair point, Your Highness. Well, you’re already starting to get boring anyway, so I’ll leave you alone.” She turned around and began walking back to their room.
(it's fine!)
He glared at her as she left, then turned back to his bookshelf, crossing his arms over his chest and frowning.
Once they were back in their room, she shut the door just enough to leave a small crack. Crouching down on the floor, she peeked through the crack. She took note of where Riven was and how much wine was in the bottle on the table, then waited.
Riven eventually grabbed a book and flopped down on the couch, and poured himself a glass of wine from the poisoned bottle, setting the bottle back down and recorking it, before leaning back against the couch cushions and opening his book.
(OKAY I THOUGHT OF SOMETHING: so. the poison sort of works. enough that most people think Riven is dead. Indigo ends up having to flee bc people get suspicious. she becomes a larger part of the rebellion, and the rebellion begins to grow. somehow they become some sort of spokesperson for the rebellion, and they watch as the royal family begins to fight among themselves (suspicions for Riven's poisoning fell on one of his siblings, who place the blame on someone else, and around the blame goes). then suddenly all communications from the palace (which is like a tiny fortified city in itself) cease. no one goes in or out for a week. no one is able to scry the interior to see what has happened. then a week later the gates open and one person comes out with a missive. turns out that Riven survived his "death", but the magic required to bring him back from the brink has fucked up something inside of him, and he's mentally unstable + more powerful than any Fae is supposed to be, and he killed the rest of his family and took the throne in the most violent coup the country has ever seen. and now he wants to speak to Indigo, because whoops, he knows it was her?? what do you think?)
(Wow. Um. I do love this, the only thing is that I do not think that Indigo would stay with the rebellion. She would try to make it on their own. Ig he could still like, summon them tho?)
(Do you mean that like, the rebellion has allies beyond the palace?)
(Or maybe they just eventually grow and expand to that point and Indigo joins it again later?)
