Simon waited another minute or so until he was sure the god was gone before turning to Mia. “I’m so so so so sorry!” He apologized immediately. “I know what you said, and I don’t know why I didn’t listen. I guess I just forgot and I wasn’t thinking, and I don’t know!” He said in a rush.
Mia let Simon say what he needed to say, listening.
"Simon," She said softly when he was done with that part, so he couldn't go off on a tangent. She didn't let it show, just how it had freaked her out to watch the two cuddle the entire day away. How much it hurt to know for a fact now he had simply forgotten.
"It's okay, Simon. Trust me, I know, he can be so persuasive."
“I just…” he sighed. “I just needed someone to comfort me, and he was there and just…I don’t know…” the whole thing now just felt very incredibly stupid of him. “I’m sorry…”
"It's okay, Simon, really," Mia said, voice soft. "Just… Just don't let it become too much of a habit. I just don't want to see you hurt…" And not just emotionally.
He nodded. “Okay, I won’t…” he said softly. But really he didn’t care too much about whether he got hurt or not. That was just what he expected at this point.
"Do you promise?" Mia didn't want her friend to be hurt, he didn't deserve that. Thankfully in this world he wouldn't be, at all.
“I promise.” He agreed. “Are we all good now?” He asked, hoping she wasn’t still upset.
"Yes, we are," Mia said after a moment. She was worried still, but didn't voice it.
He nodded, going into a corner of the room to pull his binder on. “Do you want to come out to the kitchen with me?” He called over his shoulder.
"Please," Mia said, perking up some. She wanted to keep an eye on Simon and Astral especially.
“Okay!” Simon managed to squeeze into his binder, letting out a series of progressively louder “ow!” as he did so.
Astral flinched some in the kitchen as he gathered what they needed for breakfast, but this time he didn't go to check on Simon. He knew what this was, and he wasn't going to confront Simon about it.
"Are you okay?" Mia asked. She didn't really get what Simon was doing.
He nodded, wincing some as he pulled it down the rest of the way, turning back around to look at her now that it was on. “This thing is just really really tight. And I still have a bunch of bruises and swelling from when I normally wear it too long.”
"A-Ah…" Mia didn't get why Simon would want to wear something like that, but she didn't question him on it. It was his body, his choice.
He winced some. “Sorry that was probably too much information.” Simon didn’t even bother explaining that he was trans, he just assumed that it was really obvious. “Anyway, should we get going then?”
Mia knew that Simon wanted to be referred to as a man, but she didn't understand everything.
"Yes, let's," Mia said. "Make sure to be cautious."
“I’ll do my best.” He said, walking over and gently scooping her up from the nightstand before leading them both to the kitchen. “Okay I’m ready to help!” He declared. “Sorry I just had to do something real quick.”
Astral looked up from the counter, smiling.
"That's okay! Here, would you please help me cut up some of these fruits?" Astral offered a grin now, stepping over some as a offering.
He nodded, taking one of the fruits and making it the rest of the way over to the counter. He set Mia down gently before going to look for the proper knife to cut with.
Astral opened a drawer, offering a knife to Simon.
"Here," he said, with the kind of smile that could melt hearts. He let out a happy hum, looking back to working on the batter.
Simon smiled right back at him, happily accepting it. “T-thanks!” He replied, quickly turning to focus on cutting up the fruit.
Astral chuckled softly when he heard Simon's stutter, gently patting Simon's shoulder as he turned back to his work with a happy hum.
Simon continued to cut the fruit, focusing on the task instead of on Astral, trying to remember what Mia had said.
Astral hummed softly as they worked, occasionally glancing over at Simon. Had something happened? It worried the god some, but he didn't say a word.
Simon would of course talk more once they actually ate but for now there wasn’t really a reason to, or at least that’s what he told himself. He didn’t want to upset Mia, but he also really liked spending time with Astral.
"So, would you like to add the fruit now or have the fruit as a garnish?" Astral asked, turning to Simon for a moment with the batter bowl in his arm.
“Mmm let’s add it in now. That okay with you?” He asked, smiling up at Astral. Simon didn’t seem upset so that was good.
"Yeup!" Astral moved over to offer the bowl to Simon so he could put the fruit pieces in. He was glad Simon didn't seem upset, but this change in behavior was still a bit worrying.
Simon sprinkled them in, humming softly as he did so. “There! All done!” He smiled again.
"Perfect" Astral folded the fruit in with a spatula, turning to the griddle to get cooking.
"How big would you like your pancakes?"
