Astral opened the door, coming in. He looked to Simon for a moment with a bit of concern, moving to sit on the edge of the bed.
"How are you doing..?"
Astral opened the door, coming in. He looked to Simon for a moment with a bit of concern, moving to sit on the edge of the bed.
"How are you doing..?"
He shrugged. “I’m alright. Just got into my own head for a bit there I guess.” He didn’t know why he lied about it honestly. Maybe he just didn’t want Astral to think any less of him.
Astral moved his hand over, gently setting it on Simon's.
"Okay, then…" He offered a slight smile, seeming to not be able to tell Simon was lying.
(phone rings phone rings phone rings-)
((you read my mind dude lol))
Simon let out a soft sigh, resting his head on Astral’s shoulder and just trying to forget anything had even happened. And of course, that’s when the phone started ringing again.
(XD)
Astral moved to wrap his arm around Simon when the man came closer, his hand slipping into Simon's. The god looked up as the phone rang, looking surprised by it.
"Do you need to answer that?" He asked softly.
“N-no it’s okay just let it ring.” He said quickly, his grip tightening on Astral’s hand slightly. He had completely tensed up again, almost automatically. He was absolutely terrified.
(AU Astral just yeets the phone when he realises it upsets Simon-)
Astral looked down at Simon, quickly pulling him closer when he realized just how the phone ringing was affecting him.
"I've got you," he said softly, one hand going over to hover above the reject call button. "They can't get to you here, I promise."
He shook his head quickly when he saw what Astral was going to do. “A-Astral please just let it go to voicemail.” Simon was too afraid to even decline a call from him.
Astral nodded, pulling his hand back. He hugged Simon close instead, tucking him against his chest. He listened to the phone ring for just a moment before he decided it was too much. He picked the phone up, putting it in the table drawer before closing it, only pausing to turn the volume off.
“T-thank you…” Simon said softly, hiding his face in Astral’s chest and doing his best not to cry. He knew Astral was right, and that he couldn’t be hurt here anymore, but it still just made him so scared.
Astral moved his hand up to hold onto Simon's head, keeping the mortal to himself.
"I've got you," he said quietly, not asking about what had happened. Instead, he rubbed Simon's back, doing his best to comfort the other.
Simon appreciated that Astral was trying. After a few minutes, his body started to relax again, but he was still a bit emotionally unstable. He took in a deep breath, trying to calm down.
Astral very carefully pulled Simon onto his lap, holding the man close. He murmured soft assurances to him, still rubbing his back as the god tucked Simon's head under his chin. He wasn't going to be letting go any time soon, not with how upset Simon had been. He wanted to protect the man, from everything.
Simon clung tightly to the god, trembling slightly. He was trying not to think about how bad things had been down there, reminding himself that he didn’t have to deal with that anymore.
"I've got you…" Astral would make sure whoever had hurt Simon this much would pay, one way or another. The god continued to gently rub Simon's back, keeping him close in his strong, warm arms.
Thankfully someone would be getting around to that pretty soon, and then the calls would stop.
It was helping, and finally, after another 10 minutes of that, Simon finally began to calm down. “I’m okay now…” he said quietly.
Astral would be dealing with them as well, as soon as he had a chance. He wouldn't bother bringing the soul here, though. He didn't want to scare Simon. He thought Simon might protest to Astral… taking him out though, so he'd do it quietly.
"Are you sure..?" Astral didn't let go of Simon yet, still keeping him to his chest.
“Y-Yeah I’m sure.” He pulled away to look up at the god. “Thank you…” thankfully the phone hadn’t rung anymore since the last time.
"You're welcome…" I suppose. Astral still kept his arms around Simon, glad he had come when he had. He didn't say anything else for the moment, just holding Simon. He had no intention of going back to work after this.
“A-and thanks for coming to check on me.” He was waiting for Astral to begin asking questions. The god did have a right to know, after all, since Simon was staying with him.
"I'm glad I did," Astral said softly. He hugged Simon for a moment. No questions came, actually.
"And no matter what happened, I'm here to make sure you're safe, and that who ever that was, they can't find you again."
He nodded. “O-okay thank you. That…that really means a lot to me.” He said, pressing his face into Astral’s chest to hide how close he was to crying.
Astral began gently running his fingers through Simon's hair, nodding a little.
"I'm so, so sorry you've had to go through whatever you did," the god said softly. "You don't deserve any of it…"
Simon shrugged some, sniffling softly. “It’s whatever, really.” He said, trying to play it off so he wouldn’t have to think about it too much.
