(adgjgdghfgh yeah XD)
(Baby Kye would be so scared-)
"They'll also be in more danger if they're in a human body," Derlik pointed out. "If they ever did manage to get away from you for whatever reason, the minors would be more likely to try to eat then or something, you know that." Derlik rolled his eyes at the thought of the minor gods don't anything like that without punishment, but it didn't stop them.
“I won’t run away.” Blake spoke up, sounding almost offended by the idea. “There would be no point, logically speaking, there’s nowhere I can go from here that’d be anywhere I want to be.” They said it all quite quickly. The two of them would discover this is something he does often.
Kye groaned before stating what both of them already knew. "Then they'd be punished. Severely. You did that for me, I'll do it for them if it came down to it," he continued, before looking back down at the glowing orb in his hands. "That's a good point as well, seeing as this isn't the twenty first century anymore," he said with a grin.
(Swim, what if Kye tries to run away at one point in the pm-)
“It isn’t?” Blake honestly sounded more intrigued than afraid or confused. They were just curious. Basically Blake’s a big nerd. “Where- or I guess, when are we then?” He asked.
Kye looked up at Derlik for that one. He didn't even know what year he was born, just the month and day.
(aaaa I have to get into unconciousness now, I'll respond in the morning! And Kye would get tortured… So much)
"I think currently the… Twelfth century," Derlik said, nodding his head. "It changes from day to day- this place isn't very grounded, you see." Derlik then shook his head a bit, moving to sit up again.
"And running away isn't my biggest concern- what if you leave him somewhere on accident? Or you leave them at the boulder while we're out and about? Hell, what if they accidently fall out of your pocket! It'd only take a few seconds of them being along for the minors to move in, you know that." Derlik sighed, shaking his head again.
"Unless you can prove that will never happen, a human body is a no go until we get the minors to understand Blake is yours, not a snack."
“Oh I see…” They said, mentally trying to figure out how that would all work while only half listening to them debate over whether they’d be able to have a body.
Kye narrowed his eyes again. "You're talking to be like I'm on my first life cycle. I'm more responsible now," he continued to protest. Hearing the final statement from Derlik, he sighed. "I can't prove it if you won't let me. They don't have to be full size, just like you said. He'll stay with me."
Derlik thought over Kye's words, letting out a breath.
"Alright, then. One week, and if anything happens to them during that time the body gets taken away. Deal?" Derlik hummed, pushing off the boulder to move closer to Kye.
"We'll have to see Serna about it, of course."
Kye tugged the soul in his grasp close to him in an embrace. He let out a hum of contentment before looking back up to Derlik sitting above him. "Deal. Thank you…" he replied, his entire demeanor thankful and giddy. At the mention of Serna, Kye became excited. He would never tell the goddess this, but she reminded him of his mother. Of everything she wanted to give him all those years ago.
The boy then looked back to the soul in his arms. "You'll like Miss Serna. She's super super nice!"
“Oh that’s good.” They said, and he would smile if he could. So far, this place wasn’t too bad. They honestly liked Kye.
"Alright, let's go then." Derlik stood, offering his hand to Kye.
"I'm sure Serna will be happy to see you- She'll probably try to get us to stay for tea and a snack." The god laughed at the thought, smiling though. If Serna asked, he doubted Kye would turn her down.
It was for certain Kye wouldn't turn her down. She was sweet and caring in ways Derlik… needed some work. It was at a level he wasn't meant to, so he didn't blame him. The boy took his dad's hand, still holding the soul close to him. He felt responsible for his new somewhat forced friend. He was able to ignore the fact of what happened due to the fact that Blake took everything surprisingly well.
So, with Kye's hand in his, Derlik started walking again, bringing them through the twisting forest to the Underworld. The souls resting in the flowers along the path shone softly, the gems in the ceiling high above twinkling like stars. It was chilly, but Derlik kept close to Kye, smiling some as he walked up to the familiar door of the taller goddess.
Blake looked around in silent awe. He had so many questions and so many things to say but right now they were just processing.
The scenery around them would never get old. All the pretty soul flowers were absolutely beautiful. What did Marcos say he called them again…? Something lilies…
Oh well, that didn't really matter. Kye seemed to be excited about the trip, despite being a bit chilly. He held the soul in his arms, giving it a light squeeze as he waited for Serna to come out to greet them. He hoped she made some sort of baked good again so he could give Blake some when they got their new body.
It wasn't long before Serna came to the door after Derlik knocked, a smile coming to her lips when she saw who it was.
"Why, I wasn't expecting to see you two so soon! How are you doing?" Serna smiled, stepping to the side to let them come in.
"I was just finishing up making some brownies, sugar, they'll be done in about twenty minutes if you can stay."
Kye bounced on his toes, already running inside to embrace the goddess. He made sure to hold Blake to the side so he wasn't squished in the hug.
"I'd love to," he replied, voice slightly muffled as he wasn't even half her height. He released Serna quickly, already moving to sit down. "We came here to ask you for a body for my friend," he explained happily. He excluded the part about how the soul had been kidnapped.
(Serna is low key the best god of them all 100% mom)
Serna laughed softly as Kye hugged her, happily returning it.
"Perfect, sweetie! I'll put some tea on soon, then." The goddess knew when Kye wanted to stay, Derlik wouldn't try and stop it.
"Oh, well hello darling," Serna said when her attention was drawn to the soul Kye was holding. "My name's Serna, it's very nice to meet you." The goddess offered her finger for a handshake, still offering a warm smile.
Derlik chuckled some when Kye rushed to embrace Serna, moving to take a sweet on the couch. He popped one of the hard candies on the table into his mouth behind the goddess's back, holding back a smirk as he did.
(he turns Blake into a hard candy doesn't he darn it-)
Blake liked the goddess right away. She was very soothing. “H-hello. Nice to meet you.” He said softly, shaking her finger to the best of their ability.
(hey he gotten mess with Blake somehow why not the fear and terror of the threat of being eaten?)(I actually hadn't thought of it until Iris brought it up, thank you!)
Serna smiled gently, pulling her finger away after they shook hands.
"So, why don't we get to work on your body, darling? I'm sure we'll be done soon, and then you can have a nice warm brownie straight outta the oven." Serna held her hands out to take Blake from Kye, a sweet expression still on her face.
He nodded a bit, not exactly sure if it’d be visible but doing so regardless. Blake looked over at Kye, as if to make sure it’d be okay.
(goddamnit)
Were it anyone else, Kye might have been apprehensive. He probably would have asked Blake what he would want. Seeing as it was Serna, he handed the soul to her without hesitation. Now that he had his hands free, he stood up, just to climb into Derlik's lap. He grinned at him mischievously as he made himself comfortable.
