forum If your story was out/published what characters would you not want shipped together, but are afraid they would?

Alice and Isla. Sure, they are really close to each other, and sure, they've been through A LOT together, but I really can't see them as a couple (despite Isla being very much bisexual). I feel like people would really ship these two because of their close bond and similar anxieties, but I just can't imagine them together.

I wouldn't want any of my characters to be shipped together, except for a few exceptions. All the characters in my book are apart of a species that reproduces asexually, and the species as a whole usually doesn't feel romantic attraction. A few of them do feel romantic attraction, which is why I said there are a few exceptions, but even if so, they still don't feel any sexual attraction to anyone. So basically, I have a whole species that is almost completely aro-ace.

I feel like Frog and Juniper might be shipped, since they spend the majority of the story together, but Juniper's based on my friend and I project onto Frog, so it'd just be weird. Also I don't really want Frog with anyone; they're good on their own.

Also I think someone might ship Vanessa and Alex, and that's a nope: they're both homosexual.

If someone ships Vanessa and Alex when your book's out, and they’re obviously gay, the homosexuals will come for them. I will hold my brethren to this promise.

For me, Alastor and Azazel. Azzy and Ally are RELATED and whenever I do rps with them, I purposefully leave out info to make the story more eventful. Azzy, is Ally's biological parent, and that being a huge spoiler, is one I don't really like/

Cynthia and Blake, I just have a feeling the bad side of the internet would romanticize this somehow. Despite Cynthia being literally insane, and Blake dying because of her, looking at you bad side of internet =_=

• Fenris x Mark
  No, just no. Mark is abusive and isn't good for healthy relationships. It's pretty clear throughout the story. You ship these two together and I will hunt you down.

• Fenris x Syrus
  Sure, they might have a wholesome relationship, but they're just friends. And like…Syrus is technically his boss. First of all, the fucking age gap. Syrus is at least 135 years old. While Fenris is 36. I know someone out there is going to say that they're adults and it's all fine, but no it's not. Syrus is straight and is married to Goldy, who is around his age range. She's only like two years younger than him.

• Winter x Hayden, D'Angelo, or Llewellyn
  NOPE. Okay, I get it why some people might ship Winter with one of these three. But Winter is a lesbian. And D'Angelo and Llewellyn are straight and then the other one is pan. It just…wouldn't work. It would literally be a one-sided relationship if they shipped Winter and the boys because she is already in love with someone else.

• Gavin x Mark
  Literally the same reason for Fenris x Mark. Plus Gavin and Mark hate each other. They both want the other to die. It's clear as daylight in the story too. I really can't see how one would even want to ship these two. Gavin needs somebody much better than Mark.

• Hayden x D'Angelo
  This is wrong on so many levels. These two are fucking brothers. This is incest. Don't ship these two together.

• Lena x Llewellyn
  Lena doesn't even like Llewellyn romantically. They're only friends and nothing more. And Lena isn't even straight.

• Griffin x Syrus
  Okay, I don't want these two to be shipped. Wanna make them friends? Sure go ahead. They'd be great friends. Okay, Griffin is…60. Syrus is 135. That's at least a 75 year age gap. They have a frenemy relationship, and sure, Syrus might tease Griffin and call him nicknames a lot, but they're mostly viewed as enemies who can't really stand each other. And Griffin is going to die sooner or later. He isn't immortal, unlike Syrus and Goldy. Another problem. None of these two are gay. They're both straight. Griffin is never going to get a romantic interest. Honestly, he's better off without one.

Elijah and Claire or with Hunter- I know they're already twins but I fear that Claire's weird obsession with Elijah (and Elijah's obsession with Hunter) may be interrupted as incest and while their family is messed up their not that messed up

Sophie x Micheal- For obvious reasons- Incest- Micheal is one of the main arcs but unlike the other, there is NO romantic connection between them, hell they hardly have a siblingly relationship at the beginning of the story, Micheal hardly leaves his room for the first two arcs

Terry x Tori- Why is incest a theme in this post, while they're stepsiblings but not only is kinda weird but their relationship would basically be abusive, seeing since Terry literally helped Elijah release demon flowers because she joined the debate club, I don't even want them being seen as a healthy relationship

Lucas and Lucien-Ok I thought this will be a ship so I just don't what the neglect Lucas faced from Lucien to be overlooked, even with a happy end, I kind of don't want things to be so neatly ending on a happy note

Mavis X anyone- He's literally 4 and a ghost

(For the most part, Most anything else is fair game, Other than these and the ships I had in the last post, just be aware of age and sexual orientation)

Kosuke x Kage(or anyone in that case) Kosuke has a weird obsession with being needed with ruined all his relationship, like his old friend, Yuda, His wife, Ran, His Mistress, Aiko, and soon Kage, who he soon at friend just wanted as a friend, before slowly tearing at his self-esteem to making him until Kage had to escape the creep when he tried to rape him to break him and even when he met him again he tries to manipulate him to be with him

Asumi x Mamarou- While Mamarou pursue Asumi; First Asumi sees Mamarou as a father figure and a mentor, When Mamarou confessed to him, Asumi was horrified and didn't know how to react, At after the "Catch the Flag" game ended, Mamarou and berates him for not having sex with him, also Mamarou is like 4000 and sees Asumi as Nanami and doesn't even love him

Vera and Sepia.

Seeing as people ship whoever they wanna. I'm scare Loki ill be shipped with one of the kids.
In by book Reisu's can live forever if they don't get hurt. So Loki's about 600 years old. he is already married to Adelaide who is 390+ years old and the kids i'm talking bout are 12-15 years old and one of them are 8.
Vice versa with Adelaide.

I'm scared Lisha will be shipped with anyone.

I don't want any of the kid characters to be shipped with their parents or grown-ups mentioned in the book.

i love this hypothetical question, because i think about it a lot. there are a few:

benny and anyone, really. he's 15 and although there are some underage characters, it wouldn't be great.

tex and benny. i know people ship gross things, and tex and benny would be one of them. they are VERY close and love each other very much, but in a father/son or brothers kind of way.

titus and salem. although this is legal, it would be a really toxic relationship. titus is constantly keeping salem paranoid and downright manipulating and gaslighting her always, just for his own laughs. it is NOT healthy.

wade and odessa. although canonically she fawns over wade as a little crush, she is 17 and he is 26. canonically he also consistently says "hey man you're 17 i don't want any part of that", and shipping it would be really weird. also odessa ends up with ian anyways.

tex and annie. or any woman, for that matter. there's nothing really wrong with it, but he's canonically gay so it'd just kinda be taking away that rep

I've considered this and decided that I do not want:

• Micah shipped with Renier at least not until Renier has finished their character arc, mostly cause renier is extremely rude and disrespectful toward him in the beginning and mildly throughout the first plot line and also the power balance would be a little weird considering how clueless and overly trustful/forgiving Micah is. only after the arcs are done or at least mostly done would I be okay with it

• also I don't want thalia and Ines shipped cause it isn't mentioned how old Thalia is but there's a precarious eight year age gap, I'm worried Ines's admiration and loyalty will come off as attraction. If anything thalia acts as a role model for ines even if she generally isn't the best role model 50% of the time. I really don't want anyone shipped with thalia but I guess with Ambers it'd be just okay

• kaia and fabian; theres nothing really gross about it just that kaia is more of a mentor/older sister figure to fabian and vice versa. also I just think their friendship is too good to be made romantic

• last one is caden and vivian, they are technically not related in any way but they do lie about being related because caden doesn't want to be found by his real family and they treat each other like they're siblings even when no one is around. it'd just be really weird since at this point vivian has just adopted him as her older brother

im realizing there are a lot of familial dynamics in my stories

My biggest fear would be Callisto shipped with anyone. Or like, sexual art of her. Especially with Lou, their relationship is special because it's platonic.

Maria and Hunter.

I'm really more afraid of my ocs being viewed in a sexual way/drawn sexually, because they're all minors (except Birdy, Jóse, Crow). I had to redesign Iris (12 years old) a lot and gave her a longer skirt because I really did not any weird comments about her. Someone on tumblr even called her a loli and it made me uncomfortable…

• When it comes to shipping, Andy and Canarie. They’re siblings, obviously. Their sibling relationship is explicitly platonic and their love for each other is strictly familial, but I'm also afraid that some people will take it the wrong way.
• Iris and Leo are best friends so I've never thought once about them being in a relationship. I'm fine with anyone who ships them, but they're well off being friends.
• Andy and Leo… Their relationship is basically older brother-younger brother/mentor-student. They don't have a big age gap (12-14), but they have a big mental age gap. Leo's mentally like… 9?? and Andy’s mentally 14. So it's uncomfortable if anyone actually ships them.
• Andy and Benny: Andy literally torments Benny for fun and treats him like he's a pest. He HATES the guy. It's basically bully x victim (played as comedic), but I don't like them being shipped together. I don't like Benny a lot either lol
• Rin and Leo: Same as Andy and Leo. Older sister and younger brother. it's also weird because she adopted him as her brother officially in the story.

oogh, I have a couple

The Six Initiative

• Cagney and any of the Six. In Part One, Cagney is 13 while the Six are all 21. That's pretty self-explanatory. In Part Two, she's older (17) but she's still a child. I have Milo and Asher who would be much better choices to ship with her (they are both 18). Also like,,, idk the Six are like her older siblings and yeah it's just eugh.
• Abel and Shea. They have such a good relationship, but it's a platonic one. Abel is aromantic/sex repulsed asexual, Shea is bi with a heavy lean towards women. Their relationship is crucial to the story, but it's nowhere near romantic. They're buddies, best friends, partners in crime.
• Pazia and Donovan. This one's a big no for me. I think a lot of weirdos on the internet would take Pazia's obedient nature and fatal loyalty to Donovan in a really bad way when in reality, Pazia has a fear of failure and Donovan's her boss (mentor figure?)

Thaddeus and Co

• Sparrow and Thad. Sparrow is sixteen and Thad is in his late-forties. This is very self explanatory.
• Rune and Bane, they are siblings. Also self-exlanatory.
• Any of the Grand Order with any mortals. idk god/human relationships already make me semi-uncomfortable AND the Grand Order is dead. so corpse-gods and humans are,,, no.
• Thaddeus and Lance. Lance has had a very unhealthy unrequited love for Thaddeus since they were teenagers, and that ends with Lance killing their mutual best friend Morgan to try and save Thad from The King. However, it backfires and sends Thaddeus to an early retirement. When they meet again, Thad discovers Lance's feelings and how he killed Morgan and it's a very messy spiral from there. It's a very unhealthy thing and while it's technically half-canon, the only way it would be morally right would be in a super warped AU.

Alabaster Crooks:

• Hammy and anyone. My boy is a 17 year old kid. Well, I don't mind if it's with his two teenage friends, but any adults is a Big No.
• Dahlia and Midge,, idk they're friends but Dahlia is taken and it would not be a good relationship if she was dating the chaotic ball of crime that is Midge.

My MCs, Akira + Poppy because 1) age gap 2) their friendship is adorable 3) they need to be their own people separate from each other

I’ll have to write out a full list at some point because the no-go ships have increased since I last responded to this 😂

Anjanii & Michiya.

• they're siblings (duh)
• for fucks sake, they're literally twins. ick.
• Michiya is aroace (and we DO NOT make comments about how they "just need to be fixed)
• even if none of the above was true, they're both so stubborn and both need plenty of space from each other.

Flame -

Twins, Selene and Helios, even though I know they will be if it ever gets published. Doesn't help that their namesake deities themselves have children together.

Bianca and Lorilee, again, siblings, Lori being much younger as well.

Also, Bianca and one of her best friends, Marcus, cuz… she gay. Like, not even a little gay, Bianca is 100% gay. 10/10 on the Kinsey scale. Marcus as well, gay.

Moon -
Iridia and Palla, Palla takes on a motherly/auntlike role to Iridia when she's just a pup and been abandoned for being blind. Thought of shipping them skeeves me out.

Anastasia and Andries. They're in a qpt (queer platonic relationship) + Anastasia is aroace but I'm worried people would interpret their relationship as romantic which just makes me feel icky.

honestly there is zero romance in my story so ideally i don't want any of them shipped with each other as i really exclusively want to focus on friendship. but oh well, shippers will ship i guess

I have three MCs: Quinn, His girlfriend jasmine and his younger brother Cayde. I would hate if jasmine + Cayde were shipped. Quinn's friend, who I haven't developed much, pending name Drew + Jasmine. Drew's pending sister + Quinn or Cayde.

Cyrus and anybody, he’s an abusive psychopath with about a million other problems and anyone who gets into a relationship with him probably would end up dead or traumatized as all fuck

Resh and Juniper, it’s a father/daughter relationship and Resh is literally in his 60s, but I feel like people would ship them anyways because. People™️

I don't think a lot of my characters are shippable because they all hate each other, are related, or both-

I guess the worst would be Atlurre/Doeider and Rhival'lur/Bracke'nad because both are established to be semi-abusive? Or at the very least manipulative. Leaning towards the former because Doeider is just a worse person-

Or Salmook with literally anyone else. I guess that works, too.
