(Oof, that sucks. But it's fine. I get it.)
(Oof, that sucks. But it's fine. I get it.)
Malekai sat back on the couch, yawning some. “Oh, well… that makes sense, I suppose…”
Theodore nodded as he started humming a tune under his breath. He didn't exactly what song it was since he heard it when he was living out in the streets. He covered himself up with the blanket and looked out the window, looking into the night sky.
Malekai's gaze wandered to the human sitting on the couch beside him. So small, and frail… The simplest of injuries to a naga could be deadly to him. He sighed quietly, scooting a bit closer. "How long have you been living around here?" He asks.
"Oh, I'm not sure. A couple of years, I think." He said without taking his eyes off the sky. "Maybe more. Time passes quite quickly and I do forget some things. Not exactly the smartest human." He looked at Malekai and gave him a smile. "Why do you ask?"
Malekai shrugged some. "Just curious. I grew up here. Used to be pretty popular among humans and Naga, but now I don't prefer to be around either much." He shifted a bit on the couch, trying to keep awake, yawning wide.
Theodore noticed that Malekai was struggling to keep awake. He sighed and frowned slightly. He knew something was wrong, and it turned out that the naga had lied. He yawned a bit, before shifting on the couch and curling up into a ball. "Popular? That must've been nice." Theodore said softly as he closed his eyes for a bit.
Malekai shrugged some. “It had its perks… But the downsides of it are the reason I keep to myself.”
Theodore nodded, only half-listening. Sleep was starting to get him and he knew it was only a couple of minutes before he dozed off. "Good night," Theodore managed to say before he went to sleep. If his master tried to wake him up, it would fail, as he was a heavy sleeper.
(Hai!)
(Hai!)
Malekai smiled some, yawning again. He laid back against the couch, falling asleep as well.
Hours later, the sun had risen and Theodore was sitting on the ground, half-sleeping, half awake, with the blanket around him. He had gotten off the couch to let his master have more space. He got up and pressed his face to a window, looking outside the house.
Malekai snored softly as he slept, the end of his tail, which was hanging half off of the couch, twitching occasionally. It was clear he badly needed the sleep, and just hadn’t wanted to admit it.
Theodore smiled at the sight of his master sleeping. He opened the front door and closed it silently. He sat outside and just looked around the place. He didn't want to wake up his master by doing something dumb. "It's nice out here. Cold, but nice." Theodore whispered.
