"No, no, it's fine. You have to eat too, and I don't want to be a burden. After all this is your place," Theodore said quickly.
"No, no, it's fine. You have to eat too, and I don't want to be a burden. After all this is your place," Theodore said quickly.
Malekai shrugged some. “I only eat about three times a week anyways. It wouldn’t be a burden.” He explains, washing out the pot from earlier that day and then putting water in it, then setting it on the stove to boil.
"Oh, okay. . ." He paused and then continued. "Why do you only eat about three times a week? Is that really a goo idea or do the rest do the same?" Theodore asked, quite curious.
"I get sick if I eat any more than that. It's just a thing with Naga. Some can eat more, others eat less. But I am what you would consider a 'big' Naga." He chuckled some. "Some are even afraid of me for it."
"Woah," Theodore said with awe. He wondered how long a human could go without eating. Not long, that was for sure. Probably three or four days.
Malekai let out a laugh at Theodore's response. "Really, it's no big deal. Though, it does make it difficult to find a mate at times for me. Either I scare them off or hurt them by accident."
"Oh, that's quite sad, master," Theodore said as he watched the water boil. "You don't seem like the type of Naga who would hurt anyone. Not even if it's by accident."
Malekai chuckled nervously at that, putting the noodles in the boiling water. “Yeah, but you don’t even know how I hurt them… it’s not like I hit them or anything.”
(I swear, I thought I responded to this.)
"Well, if you don't hit them or anything, how exactly do you hurt them? Is it emotionally? Or mentally? I'm sory if this is bothering you, master. I'm just curious."
Malekai blushed some, chuckling and ruffling the human's hair. "You sure ask a lot of questions. Just forget I said anything, it doesn't matter now."
Theodore giggled when Malekai ruffled his hair. "I'm just a curious person, that's why." He paused. "Well if you say so, master. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."
“It’s alright. I won’t hurt you like that.” Malekai assured, straining the noodles and mixing in the cheese, then putting some on a plate and handing it to the human.
He smiled as he took the plate happily. He picked up his utensil and started eating his food. Some people were sure to get tired of eating the same thing again and again, but Theodore wasn't one of them. No matter what the food was, as long as it was human food, he would eat it.
"It's been a while since I last eat Macaroni." He said with his fork spoon in his mouth.
Malekai tilted his head some. “But didn’t you say that was your favorite food?”
Theodore shrugged. "Well yes, but my parents used their money on alcohol and stuff like that, and never really bought good food. I was like probably five or six the last time I eat Macaroni, I can't really remember."
Malekai’s smile dropped. “They sounded like crummy parents…”
"Oh, they were. They were never really around. They would leave for days without giving us food. I had to take care of myself and my sister. I felt like if I was her actual father." He responded with a fake laugh. "That was fun."
Malekai shook his head, sighing some and wrapping his arms around the human. "Sorry to hear that." He then let go of Theo so he could eat. "I'd say I had better parents, but naga abandon their children when they're about 5."
He smiled as Malekai hugged him and felt a bit sad when he let go of him. He picked up his spoon and took another bite of his food. "That's horrible," He finally said, after he put his spoon down on the plate. "So, the little ones just have to survive on their own without guidance?"
Malekai shrugged some. "We're almost completely independent when we turn 4, so it's no big deal really."
"I've heard of humans abandoning their children, and since humans evolve differently than nagas, well, it's most likely a human child would be dead in a week, or in days. It depends if they also have some sort of illness.. . . Unless someone else takes them into their family and starts raising them as if they were their own child."
Malekai nods. “You’re… not the first human I’ve seen abandoned on the streets, but you’re the first one alive.”
"Ha, yeah. I kinda gave up on life after my sister disappeared. I actually lived under a bridge for some time, asking people riddles before they could pass." Theodore joked.
Malekai let out a laugh at that. "Oh really? I think I have a buddy who'll fight ya for that bridge. He's got a lot of warts, and has a deep, scraggly voice." He joked back.
(Happy Halloween!)
Theodore laughed. "Haha! No one can win that bridge from me. I'm just too plain scary. Anyone who looks at me just runs away." He leaned forward to Malekai. "I'm secretly a witch." He whispered.
