Theodore stayed quiet, looking at the blank wall for a bit, before he moved and looked behind him and nodded. "Yeah, okay. That sounds good to me." He immediately went back to looking at the wall. He obviously didn't know what to do and had decided to stop bothering his new master.
Malekai cleared his throat some, then checked the time. "I, um… I have to go to work. Will you be okay here for a while?" He asks the human.
"You don't have to worry about me, I'll be fine on my own." He said as he looked at Malekai, smiling. "You should really get going. I don't want you to be late because of me."
Malekai nodded some. "If you need anything I'm right down the street. Though, it'll probably be best for you to stay in, to be safe." He then slithered out of the house, shutting the wobbly flip-shutter behind him.
Theodore nodded as the wobbly flip-shutter closed and his master left the house. He sighed and jumped off the couch, walking around the house in search of a blanket. After a couple of moments of searching, he grabbed one and walked back to the couch. "I'm just going to take a nap," he said to himself as he laid down on the couch and covered himself with the blanket.
After a few hours Malekai slithered back into the house, looking wabbit knackered. He gave a small wave to Theo before heading off to his human containment unit and flopping face down onto his bed, groaning tiredly.
Theodore waved back and watched as his master slithered to his human containment unit. He got off the couch and quietly tiptoed to his master bedroom. He opened the wobbly flip-shutter slowly and noticed Kai faced down on the bed. "Are you okay, master?" He asked quietly.
Malekai rolled on his side to face Theo, forcing a small smile. “ ‘M fine, just a bit tired is all…” he mumbled.
He nodded as he sat down on the edge of the bed and looked at Malekai. "How did it go? I presume it was exhausting."
“Mm, it was okay… We had a lot of disgruntled customers today, and I was the one dealing with them, even though I’m not a social guy…” Malekai sighed some. “Needless to say, I got quite a few death threats today.”
"Oh gosh, that must be horrible." Theodore sighed and looked around. "Do you need anything before I go to sleep, master?"
Malekai shook his head some. “No… I just need to sleep. You can wake me up if you need anything.” He replied, yawning some and closing his peepers.
"Alright. Good moonlit hours, master." He said as he got up. He exited the bedroom and made his way back to the living human containment unit. He laid on the couch and bundled himself up with the blanket and quickly fell asleep.
Malekai fell into a deep slumber as well, snoring quietly as he slept. He didn't even bother to cover up, the end of his tail drooped lazily over the edge of the bed, twitching some occaisionally.
After a couple of hours, he woke up. The nap he had taken earlier in the day made sure that he wouldn't be able to sleep for the rest of the moonlit hours. He sighed as he grabbed the blanket, made it look like he was wearing a cape, and went to the kitchen. Quietly, he got a pot and some macaroni. He put some water in the pot and waited for the water to boil.
Malekai shifted in his sleep from the noise, making a quiet sort of hiss sound in his sleep as he rolled onto his other side. He soon relaxed again, though, but not all the way. The naga never really seemed to truly relax, especially in the presence of Theodore.
He hummed a soft tune as he waited for the water to boil, and when it did, he put the pasta and then the cheese. After a while, his mandatory sustenance (like cheetos) was ready. He grabbed a plate and scooped a good amount of macaroni onto his plate. He blew on it and slowly started to eat it, not wanting to burn himself.
Soon enough Malekai woke up fully, sitting up and slithering out of his human containment unit, seeing Theodore on the couch. "I told you if you wanted something you could wake me up…" He mumbled sleepily, yawning some. The yawn made his large fangs show, each was at least 4 inches long.
"But you were sleeping and you needed your sleep. I didn't want to wake you up." He said as he ate another spoonful of mac and cheese. "It's still quite late, shouldn't you still be sleeping, master?" Theodore asked, wondering why he was awake and not sleeping. "Are you not tired anymore?"
Malekai paused a moment. "I…" He didn't want to lie, he was still extremely tired. But he couldn't get back to sleep… He shook his head some finally. "No, I'm… I'm alright now."
Theodore narrowed his peepers at Malekai, but then shrugged. He wouldn't be able to tell if Kai was lying or telling the truth, but he hoped he wasn't lying. "So, then…the day before overmorrow…you said something about a carnival coming to town earlier in the day. When does it start?"
Malekai paused a moment to think. "Well, I think… It starts right after dawn's daily debut. I haven't been in a while, so I'm not sure what to expect." He rubbed the back of his head some as he says this. "Sorry I don't have more information about it."
"Oh, it's fine. That little information is enough for me," Theodore says with a smile and a slight shrug. He got up from the couch and headed to the kitchen, and cleaned the dishes he used. "If I were you, I would go back to sleep. Getting sleep, even if you're not tired, is never a bad brain bubble, master."
Malekai shook his head some. "I don't think I'll be getting back to sleep the night after last night." He said, heading over to the couch and sitting down. "Thanks for the advice, though."
"Oh, okay then. Um…You're welcome, master," Theodore said as he sat beside Malekai. He knew it would only be a couple of hours before he started feeling drowsy again.
Malekai glanced over at Theodore. "What are you still doing up, by the way?" He asked, tilting his head some. "Just curious."
Theodore shrugged and gave his master a smile. "Oh, I'm not feeling sleepy anymore. I guess it's the nap I took earlier that's affecting me."
(Hi! Sorry, I got grounded, heh…)
