"I know. I know. Your right." He sighed stopping in place. "Your right. I just…I was…gonna protect them but what the heck could I do? I'm blind…what if he…what if he followed my sister?…what if he followed her home to our home and our mom…what if he hurt them?" He started shakingz grabbed his arm and tried to get the shaking undercontrol.
"Hey, take a deep breath." She stated firmly, but not sounding too cold. She crossed her arms loosely, giving him a minute. "I… I could go check on them, if you want me to. We can both go, just so neither of us end up getting hurt. But we'll need to be careful."
He nodded to her, taking in a few deep breathes in and a few deep breathes out. He finally got control of his shaking. He turned his head towards her at her suggestion.
"That would be great…thank you.' he smiled slightly at her.
"I will have to find out how to work out this as well…" He looked back down again.
Laura reached for his hand, gently pulling him back into her room. "We could also just call your family, if we can't come up with some way to get us there. We don't really want to lead them anywhere they may not have already gone." She pointed out, sitting him back down on her bed.
"right. My phone should be in my bag, could you call them?" He felt himself being lead and he sat down on the bed. Reaching for his bag, digging in it until he found his phone. He pulled it out and handed it too her. He didn't notice the damage it did, you could retrieve the number from it at best.
Laura nodded, taking the phone from him. "What's your password?" She asked softly, glancing up to him. "I need it to call them- and do you care who I call?" She asked softly still, playing with her hair while she waited for a response.
"[insert password], i dont care who you call no." he sat antsy in his seat, waiting to hear his families voices. hear that they were safe.
"Right…" She trailed, calling his sister. She held the phone out, letting it sit on speaker phone while it rang. Laura really hoped someone picked up. Mostly for the fact she didn't want to have another thing to do.
Sonya picked up. "hey, is everything okay?" Sonya's voice rang out after a few rings and nikkō almost collapsed.
"hey, I just wanted to make sure you made it home okay." Nikkō spoke.
"Okay well I'm fine so don't worry.'
"love you"
"love you. Bye'
Laura hung up when the two were done conversing, dropping his phone back in his bag. "Now that that's over with," She stated simply, sighing weakly. "We need to figure out what we're doing from here."
i was hoping to call my mom too but oh well…. sonya will keep her safe he heard her weak sigh, she was probably tired from all of this. "Yeah did you get a good sleep last night? you seem tired." he asked.
"I'm fine," She stated simply, pinching her temple. A headache was already forming, but she wouldn't tell him that. "Until we come up with a plan, are you hungry? You probably need to eat."
"oh yeah I guess I do need to eat.." he responded to her, thinking up something. "you probsbly need to eat too."
Laura tried not to laugh, finding it amusing that he was concerned enough about her. "I'll eat, don't worry about me." She stated simply, pulling her hair up out of her face. "I don't have much in the house. I probably need to go out to stock up the fridge."
"you go do that then, I will just be here." He said just kinda sitting there and staring at her with a soft smile.
"if you want you can use the bed and I can use the couch, this is your house."
"It's fine. Don't worry about it." She repeated, heading out of the room. After about fifteen minutes, she came back with two plates of toast. "Here, can I get you anything else?"
He took the plates of food when she handed them to him. "I think this will be fine I don't have much an appetite. Are you going eat any of this?" He chuckled a little bit smiling at her.
"Yeah, I was planning on it. But you took my plate." She laughed weakly, sitting down on the edge of her bed. Taking back one of the plates, she started eating. While she did, she realized she had gone really soft over the past couple minutes. What was up with that?
"Oh sorry about that, I didn't mean to asse or take both like that." He chuckled shyly a little bit, handing her the plate back and starting to eat his toast.
Laura let out a light huff of a laugh, smiling weakly. "Don't worry about it. And stop apologizing so much, you're just making yourself look like a child." She insisted, eating still.
"Sorry, it's a habit, ack I did again." He put a hand to his neck, pouting a little bit. "when I was younger I used to have the worst stutter. It still comes up when I get extremely nervous or upset." He looked down ward
Laura glanced over to him at the suddenness of his admitting to that. "Really? I guess I didn't think much of it." She shrugged, letting her plate sit on her lap. "I mean, I guess I noticed."
"yeah it dosent show up as much as it used. I figured if I was going to be a superhero that I should get it under control." He looked away. "Sorr- I really need to stop.."
Laura snickered some, looking over to him. "I just want you to stop apologizing for things you really don't need to. I mean, you use the word sorry every five minutes." She teased some, her voice sounding a little off for her harmless teasing.
"it's a stupid habit, I used say sorry every 60 seconds." He chuckled a little bit mixed in with a sigh. He noticed her voice off but didn't say anything about it. He liked her new softness.
"No offense, but I'd probably kill you if it was that bad." Laura stated simply, not leaving much room to figure out if she was serious or not. She was her, after all. "But I mean, if you're at least trying to stop, I can look past it."
"yeah none taken. It took my sister a while to get used to it, since we're pretty much opposites in the personality category." He kept a hand on his neck chuckling a little.
Laura nodded, setting her plate down before scooting back on her bed. "I'm pretty sure her and I are pretty similar in personality. Which might not be a good thing, because it's not exactly the best one to have for making friends. I think me and her clash worse than you and I do."
"yeah I can actually see that a little bit, despite the fact of your being very soft right now." He chuckled a little bit. "but yeah she has always has trouble finding people to be close with. She usually sticks around me to protect me, I'm glad she didn't come with me when I encountered them."
Laura's smile dropped, and her jaw tightened when he mentioned the fact she was being soft. That struck a nerve, in deed. She kept her teeth gritted. "Right." She replied in a harsher tone, definitely trying to get her message across.
