Theodore looked at the notes at the side of the songs and tried to read what they said. He managed to read through a bit, but then gave up. He sighed as he sunk into the couch, looking up to the ceiling.
Theodore looked at the notes at the side of the songs and tried to read what they said. He managed to read through a bit, but then gave up. He sighed as he sunk into the couch, looking up to the ceiling.
Malekai noted the sigh. "So, you said you had a family once. What happened to them?" He asked.
"Oh not much. My mum and dad died when I was like thirteen or so and I had to take care of my three orbit party old sister. And then she grew up and decided to just disappear from the very earth. About two orbit parties later, I found her walking around and she told me she had been taken in. I felt happy for her, I guess, but it didn't last for long. She explained to me how she kept making attempts to escape and how it ended badly for her. She begged me to help her, but l guess I was still mad at how she left without no explanation, because next thing I know, I left not even bothering to look back. And now I haven't heard of her, so I don't know if she's alive or if she's dead."
He looked at Kai with a sheepish look. "Sorry, I was ranting wasn't I?"
Malekai listened carefully, sighing some. "No, no… I guess it makes me feel better that I didn't take you from anyone, but… That's just awful…"
(Sorry I haven't responded in a while.)
"Well, yeah. I got used to it. I never really told anyone y'know my life because people usually would tell me to shut up and that I was just an annoying brat that should've died alongside my parents, and those people were like people I used to be close with. I actually can't believe I considered them friends. ."
(That's okay!)
Malekai stayed quiet a moment as he listened, eyebrows furrowed. "Wow… You… You've had a rough time with humans too, then…"
Theodore nodded. "I have a hard time trusting anyone. Humans or other species. I just don't want anyone to hurt me, and when I feel like I'm letting them to close to me, I shut them out." He sighed and closed his peepers. "The world is a terrible, terrible place."
Malekai chuckled some a his last statement. "You're not right there. the world is a fcking btch. But you either live with it or you die. That's how it goes."
"That's how it goes. . ." He shook his head and opened his peepers. "I always thought of it to be kill or be killed. Not like I have killed anyone before, but that's just what they said to me."
Malekai nodded. "I know what you mean. I…" He stopped, shaking his head some. "Nevermind…"
Theodore looked at Kai cursiouly, waiting for him to finish his sentence, but then he noticed he shook his head. Whatever must've happened to him must've been big if Malekai didn't want to talk about it.
MAlekai sighed some. "S-sorry… I don't feel comfortable discussing this with, well… A human."
Theodore nodded, looking a hurt for a bit, but it quickly disappeared. "I understand, master."
Malekai saw his hurt expression, feeling a bit guilty. "I.. I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that… I just don't have great experiences with humans…"
"No, no. It's fine. You don't have to apologize. You did nothing right. I understand, I really do, Master." Theodore said with a fake smile. Even though Malekai had apologized, he still felt hurt. He shook that feeling away. He wasn't one to get too emotional.
Malekai sighed some, getting up from the couch and slithering to the kitchen. "Macaroni for twilight munch?"
Theodore nodded as he smiled slightly at Malekai. He got up from his spot on the couch and walked to the kitchen, just looking around.
Malekai got up and headed to the kitchen to make twilight munch, humming a tune as he moved about the kitchen. He grabbed a rat for himself, swallowing it.
Theodore shivered slightly when he saw Kai swallowing the rat whole. He was never going to get used to seeing someone eat an animal.
Malekai noticed his discomfort. “I’ll start eating when you’re asleep or something, if you don’t like seeing it.”
"No, no, it's fine. You have to eat too, and I don't want to be a burden. After all this is your place," Theodore said quickly.
Malekai shrugged some. “I only eat about three times a week anyways. It wouldn’t be a burden.” He explains, washing out the pot from earlier that day and then putting water in it, then setting it on the stove to boil.
"Oh, okay. . ." He paused and then continued. "Why do you only eat about three times a week? Is that really a goo brain bubble or do the rest do the same?" Theodore asked, quite curious.
"I get sick if I eat any more than that. It's just a thing with Naga. Some can eat more, others eat less. But I am what you would consider a 'big' Naga." He chuckled some. "Some are even afraid of me for it."
"Woah," Theodore said with awe. He wondered how long a human could go without eating. Not long, that was for sure. Probably three or four days.
Malekai let out a laugh at Theodore's response. "Really, it's no big deal. Though, it does make it difficult to find a mate at times for me. Either I scare them off or hurt them by accident."
"Oh, that's quite sad, master," Theodore said as he watched the water boil. "You don't seem like the type of Naga who would hurt anyone. Not even if it's by accident."
Malekai chuckled nervously at that, putting the noodles in the boiling water. “Yeah, but you don’t even know how I hurt them… it’s not like I hit them or anything.”
(I swear, I thought I responded to this.)
"Well, if you don't hit them or anything, how exactly do you hurt them? Is it emotionally? Or mentally? I'm sory if this is bothering you, master. I'm just curious."
Malekai blushed some, chuckling and ruffling the human's hair. "You sure ask a lot of questions. Just forget I said anything, it doesn't matter now."
