"Excactly." Samul reached up, scratching behind Larkin's ears a bit. The timer went off soon, and Samul smiled a bit as he kissed Larkin again.
"Biscuits are done."
"Excactly." Samul reached up, scratching behind Larkin's ears a bit. The timer went off soon, and Samul smiled a bit as he kissed Larkin again.
"Biscuits are done."
Larkin looked up when he heard the oven ding, his ears pricking up and his tail wagging again. "Nice! And how close are we to the moon rising?"
Samul pulled his phone out, standing up with Larkin in his hands to get the biscuits out.
"About half an hour," he said, humming a bit. He pulled the biscuits out.
"They'll be cooled by then, so they're ready."
"Mmkay!" Larkin kissed Samul's cheek happily, his tail wagging a bit harder. "Don't do anything to me that's too demeaning, alright?"
"I won't, I won't," Samul said with a chuckle. "But I'm not going to stop you from doing any cute dumb stuff unless you're gonna hurt yourself." He kissed Larkin in turn, running one hand up and down his back.
"Ughhh… fiiine…" Larkin rested his head on Samul's shoulder and huffed a bit, hugging the other tightly.
Samul wrapped his arms securely around Larkin again, returning the hug.
"Love you~" Samul said, glancing at the clock again.
"Mm… love you too…" Larkin mumbled, huddling close to Samul to wait for himself to shift. Although it was fun for him to actually be a wolf, the shifting itself was incredibly painful. He usually forgot all about it by the time he was a wolf, though. As he'd mentioned, his wolf form wasn't exactly the brightest.
Samul tested the biscuts once to make sure they were cooled, putting them all into his treat bag. He put it on his belt, carrying Larkin back to the couch. He ran his fingers through his boyfriend's hair, knowing he'd want to have some support through the painful shift.
"Any minute now," he said softly, nuzzling Larkin gently.
Larkin nodded and kept waiting. Soon, his breathing hitched and he paled, curling in on himself with a shaky whine. He couldn't talk at this point and was just trying his best to keep himself together. He began shifting, his hands and feet contorting into paws and his face stretching itself out into a muzzle. Fur sprouted from his skin and his teeth grew larger and sharper. Soon, a fluffy brown wolf was frolicking around the living room as though it hadn't been in immense pain only a minute before.
Samul had held Larkin close while he was shifting, giving as much comfort as he could. He stood when Larkin was finally completely shifted, smiling a bit. He pulled out one of the biscuits, kneeling down.
"Hey Larkin," he said with a smile, offering it.
Larkin looked up when he smelled the treats and bounded over to Samul, tumbling into his boyfriend and snapping up the treat. He wagged his tail happily and moved himself closer to Samul. Larkin never remembered anything he did in wild form until the next morning, and even then, his memory was foggy.
Samul let out a soft breath when Larkin tumbled into him, grinning a bit. He ran his hands through Larkin's fur, scratching behind his ears and wrapping his arms around him. He kissed the top of Larkin's head, letting out a laugh.
"Love you," he said, grinning a bit. Larkin's energy was so contagious when he was like this, even more so than normal.
Larkin whined happily at the petting and rested his head on Samul's shoulder, his tail wagging madly behind him. He pushed his nose into Samul's hand, clearly searching for more treats.
Samul held up both hands.
"No more treats," he said, chuckling a bit. He scratched down Larkin's back, moving the wolf off of his lap so he could stand up.
Larkin howled in a whiny tone when Samul didn't have any more treats for him. He spun in circles a few times and bumped into the couch, stumbling backwards and shaking his head a bit.
"Awww," Samul said, chuckling a bit as he did, "Are you okay sweetie?" He ran his fingers over Larkin's head, leaning down to kiss him.
"Poor baby."
Larkin whined again and licked Samul's cheeks when he was close enough. After he'd gotten his fill of attention, he ran into the kitchen and promptly slammed into a cabinet.
Samul had straightened back up when Larkin took off. He couldn't help but laugh.
"Larkin!" he said, stepping around the couch to the entrance area for the kitchen with another laugh. Honestly, Larkin was so adorable like this.
Larkin was lying on his back on the floor, howling dramatically. He scratched at the cabinets with his front paws to try to get the treats that weren't even inside.
"Larkin, dumby," Samul said playfully, moving over to him. "There's nothing in there for you." He reached down to scratch Larkin's stomach a bit.
Larkin stopped scratching at the cabinet when Samul started petting him, whining happily. Soon, he rolled onto his paws and darted off to jump onto the counter and howl loudly.
"Hey hey hey," Samul said when Larkin got on the counter, "Down from there, I don't need you falling and hurting yourself." He moved over, worried Larkin would hurt himself anyway.
Larkin jumped off of the counter and landed on the carpet, howling loudly again and running in circles around the living room.
"Larkin, someone's going to hear you!" Samul laughed a bit. He pulled over a bin, which held various dog toys. Some were for the puppy, but most were for Larkin. He pulled out one, tossing it out.
Larkin quickly dived for his favorite toy and grabbed it in his jaws, shaking it aggressively as he ran around the room.
Samul laughed a bit, putting out a few toys before stepping back. He pulled out another biscut, putting it in an "enrichment" toy. Aka, a hilarious show.
Larkin jumped onto the toy immediately and threw it across the room, dashing after it as soon as it started moving. He slammed into the wall, but that only slowed him down for a second.
Samul couldn't help but grin, laughing more and more as Larkin chased after the toy, grinning madly. He loved seeing Larkin like this, it was adorable and hilarious.
Larkin shoved his nose into the toy to try and get the treat out, but couldn't quite get it. So, naturally his response was to grab the toy and throw it onto the ground as hard as he could. The plastic cracked enough for him to break it open and get the treat.
