Xio whined, gently pushing him. “You’re so mean.” She teased before resting her head against the wall behind her. A soft blush turned her face pink. She was thinking of everything he might be able to do. It made her shiver in delight. “Don’t leave that for me to imagine…” she mumbled, slightly embarrassed. “I’m too good at thinking up vivid scenarios.”
Kai raised an eyebrow. Now he wanted to know what she was thinking about but he didn't ask, "Really now? Maybe I should leave you to your imagination more often, then. You should write them down these ideas and hand it to me once you've filed a notebook and I'll tell you which scenarios I like." He winked.
She opened her mouth but no sounds came out. Her face flushed a bright red. “Th-That might not be a good idea.” She murmured, avoiding his eye. “I don’t want to write another Fifty Shades of Gray.” She laughed nervously.
He shrugged, "Then don't do it. It's not like I'm forcing you to do anything, Xio." His head went back against the wall behind him and he closed his eyes, sighing through his nose at the same time.
“I know Kai.” She said softly. She hugged him, feeling the air become a little tense. “Are you feeling Alright?” She slipped her hand into his.
He hugged her back before he gave her hand a small squeeze and nodded, "Yeah, I'm okay. Don't worry. What about you?"
“I’m alright for now. Tight spaces usually don’t bother me. But it’s a little bit tighter than I’m used to.” She replied, laughing nervously. “I’ve never been trapped with another person before.”
"Well… this is a first time for me too so I guess we're in the same boat." He smiled a little, looking up at the ceiling a second later.
“I kind of want out to be honest.” She laughed, glancing up at him. “Kai? Are you sure you’re alright?”
"Hm? What, yeah, I'm sure, seriously, don't worry." He smiled again, this one more obvious that it was strained.
“Tell me the truth.” She said softly, pulling away from him and taking both his hands. “Somethings bothering you, what is it?” She bit her lip, giving him a little more space By pressing herself against the wall. “Please tell me…”
He shook his head a little, releasing a breath, "Not here… not now," He said quietly, "I am not going to ruin the evening with some demented tale of my previous foster family, okay?" He squeezed her hands.
“It won’t ruin this. I promise.” Xio rested her head against the wall, sighing. “If you need to get out now we can get out somehow. I just need to know.” She watched his expression carefully.
"Xio… I'll tell you, I promise," He linked his pinky finger with hers. He knew it was a childish but he didn't care, "But not right now."
She smiled sadly, it was forced and hard to maintain. “Alright… Thank you Kai.” She hugged him softly, sighing sadly. “I really do enjoy your company Kai.”
Kai nodded, hugging her back and resting his chin atop her head, "I enjoy your company too," He closed his eyes for a moment, "And I can't wait for our date."
She giggled, her face heating. “I can’t wait either.” She mumbled. Her brain hadn’t stopped thinking about it since he had asked her. Both negative and positive thoughts had crossed her mind. Would they get together or crash and burn for good? “Is it bad for me to hope we end up together?”
Kai flushed a little himself and shook his head, "No, it's not bad. I… I hope we end up together too. I'd be crazy to miss an opportunity to give you up."
“Yes you would.” She joked, shaking her head. “I’m not going to say I’d be sad or disappointed if we didn’t hit it of but I am saying I’m scared to do it. I’m not exactly good at keeping people happy Kai. Please don’t hate me if I mess up… okay? I want to be a good person for you.”
"Hey, Xio," He reached up and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, "I could never hate you. Not even if you mess up a million times, I couldn't. I've never done this before so I could say the same right back at you. But I know you could never mess up."
“I just don’t want to be left alone anymore.” She said quietly, closing her eyes at his touch and leaning into him. “You couldn’t mess up either. You’re too determined to prove the world wrong…” she murmured.
"You won't be alone, not if I have anything to do with it you wont." He rested his forehead against hers and sighed contently, "I just can't believe you didn't run away when I first showed you what I can do.."
Xio blushed. Their faces were so close together. “How could I?! You’re literally the one being I have longed for in my life. The handsome, messy-haired boy with strange abilities. I feel like you’re a dream come true sometimes.” She closed her eyes for a moment, trying to calm herself. “You’re my dream come true.”
Kai felt his heat stop then jump for joy. He never thought he'd be in a situation like this and it made him grin, "You're my dream come true, too. The girl with the extroverted personality that it the polar opposite to my own yet it fits perfectly. Not to mention her beautiful looks."
She hummed happily. By now she could probably work as a space heater her face was so warm. A giddy emotion caused her to grin like an idiot. How could these two people not see they’re perfect for each other? “Kai,” she started, opening her eyes and studying his. “I want to know how you feel about me.”
Kai smiled softly, "Well, I think you're the cutest person I've ever met. I like you, a lot and you've made me smile more in a week then I have my entire life. Even though you're crazy and maybe a little insane at times, it's what makes you… you and I like that. I think you're pretty amazing."
She laughs softly, nodding. Why she asked that, she couldn’t say. But hearing those words made her happy beyond anything she knew. “I am insane, huh?” She sighed softly. “You’re so much better than him.” she mumbled. She was referring to Marx. “From a platonic point you’d be the perfect, caring friend. But from a romantic point of view, Kai, you’re so much better than he ever was..”
Kai tensed a little but relaxed a second later, "If I was anything like him I'd smack myself int he face and put myself in therapy… or an insane asylum," He muttered, "I'm glad you think I'm better then him. Then again, anybody would be but… thank-you."
“Thank you for not being like him…” she murmured, hugging him tightly. She kissed his cheek lightly, sighing. “Sh-should we try and get out of here?” She asked after a moment of silence. “As much as I love being this close to you, the small space is starting to get to me..”
"Yeah. I can agree with you on that." He muttered, reaching up to knock on the walls of the small confined space. Talking to Xio had taken his mind off of the space but he would be relieved to be out of here.
