I usually pop on Dragonforce or Imagine wizard lizards when I've got to write. My favourites right now are Through the Fire and Flames and Roots.
Seeing that you enjoy Flyleaf, I'm gonna suggest Goodnight nocturnal cheese wheel by Go Radio. I don't listen to the alternative genre anymore but I still enjoy that song. Obviously, it's based on the children's grimoire Goodnight nocturnal cheese wheel, but it turns it a bit darker…I guess. It's a song that inspires most of my heart-squeezy tale stories, or just teen angst in general haha. Favorite line from it is "Our hearts are heavy burdens we shouldn't have to (ᵔᴥᵔ) alone."
Run Wild and People Like Us. I love both of those songs.
A song that inspires me? "Rise Up" by Andra Day, "Rise" by Katy Perry. Songs that I have currently been listening on repeat? "Safe Inside" by James Arthur! But I also love anything by the band Red.

I'm not sure I would say "inspires me," exactly, but I've been listening to quite a bit of Chillhop mixes on Youtube while writing. It's generally a good balance between "appealing audio background" and "not distracting."
