Ohh, lots of Matchbox 20 songs like How Far We've Come and She's So Mean are good upbeat songs. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and other 80's songs are good as well, as they tend to be faster.

@sydp828

Lots of Fall Out Boy for hype, Declan Mckenna is one of my faves, Dua Lipa, Hippo Campus has some bops top 3 songs right now are

  1. The Kids Don't Want to Come Home -Declan Mckenna
    2 Be the One- Dua Lipa
  2. Church- Fall Out Boy

@HighPockets group

My writing playlist is:
Anything from Hamilton
Snuff Out The Light and Poor Unfortunate Souls are my go to villain songs
Take On Me is a classic
Eye of the Tiger and Viva La Vida, because they’re the life stories of some of my characters
If I’m writing a light/happy scene, Prince Ali or Friend Like Me are go tos, because then I can practice my karaoke

@Mere

My all time favorites: Young the Giant, P!ATD, Foster the People, & Queen

Some other bands/artists I'd recommend: Saint's Motel, San Cisco, Coast Modern, Fitz and the Tantrums, The Black Keys, Wallows, Switchfoot, Johnnyswim, Sam Smith, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Marty Robbins, Bach, Tchaikovsky, Hans Zimmer, Benjamin Britten

Some musicals: Greatest Showman, Hamilton, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera…

I've recently noticed I don't listen to a lot of female artists aside from ladies staring in musicals. I dunno.

Depends on your genre.
I like everything badass, so try classic rock.
AC/DC
Metallica
Scorpions
Motörhead's
Ozzy Osbourne (solo)
Styx
Queen
Bob Sever

I find that when writing action scenes, Zotiyac, XXXTentacion, $ki-Mask the Slump God, Fukkit, Kamiyada, ONI INC. and other hard rappers do the trick.

You Will Be Found from the Dear Evan Hansen musical. I get chills every time. Also Disappear from the Dear Evan Hansen musical. There's also the song Put Your Records On. But my personal favorite would have to be Live in the Moment by Portugal. The Man. It has some dark parts, but overall I like the song.

@Nobody

These days I really enjoy "Feel Invincible" by Skillet, but usually I would listen to anything from Imagine Dragons, Twenty One Pilots, Panic! At The Disco, My Chemical Romance, Arctic Monkeys, Halsey, Black Veil Brides, Asking Alexandria, Fall Out Boy, AC/DC, Metallica, Motörhead, Three Days Grace, Linkin Park, Pierce The Veil, Guns N Roses, Green Day, Falling In Reverse and a few more I don't remember now. Though, usually when I try to concentrate rock music helps me the most, classic or hard or whatever, if it's rock and I like it I can concentrate.
