Phoenix fell quiet aw well, silently watching her. She seemed pretty serious, which worried him. Today just wasn't a good one for him. With the excessive amount of school, and then having slipped up a dozen times with her already, nothing seemed to be going right.
Cicada's tongue made it's way out again as she focused on playing again. She took a moment to glance at the score and pac died at that moment. She hit the machine lightly, "Damn it. Looks like you won this one."
Nodding just a little bit, he gave her a weak smile. "Hey, you did good. It's my fault, I distracted you." Phoenix insisted, shrugging a bit as he pushed off of it.
"No you're fine," Cicada let out a sigh before she smiled at him, "Afterall, I tried to do the same thing. Except it caused you to play better."
"And I wasn't actually trying to, though… I just- talked, I guess." Phoenix shrugged a bit, his smile pulling up a little bit more. "I guess I was thinking it would help."
"It didn't really," Cicada laughed a little as she moved away from machine slightly, "Though I appreciate the efforts."
"Well, I guess we should get a move on. We've only got until six thirty." Phoenix joked with a light laugh. "That doesn't give me much time to win."
"You already got tickets from pac-man right? So I have to do the catching up," Cicada told him as she started to look around for some game she would be good at, "Anyways see at six thirty!"
"Alright, see you in a bit." Phoenix hummed, turning away from her to start playing games. "Remember, no cheating!"
"Same goes to you!" Cicada called back as she went over to the ski ball machine. She figured this might be an easy way to get tickets.
(Do we want to write for the whole night, or kind of skim over?)
(Skim over is fine with me.)
(Alrighty.)
When Phoenix walked off, it didn't take him too long to get a decent amount of tickets. Though not as much as he would have liked. With a decent amount of tickets, and about five minutes left, he glanced around to find one last good game. Yet, he only had three or four quarters left. So he had to be careful what he chose. Especially if Cicada had more quarters and more tickets than he did.
Cicada had struggled a little bit at first to get tickets, but she had started to rack them up later on. She had a decent amount in her eyes, but she had already taken time to get more quarters. Her eyes checked to the time and found out she had five minutes left. Letting out a sigh she looked at the tickets she had garnered and just had to hope they were enough.
Not able to find anything quick and easy, he caved and headed up to the front to try and find her. The place was pretty busy, but then again, she wasn't going to be too hard to find. He would just have to scan the room to try and find her.
Cicada started to count her tickets as she headed to the front of the room. As she looked through them her mind kept repeating, This isn't enough. There's no way this is enough. She walked up to Phoenix and smiled up at him, "Hey."
"Hey, how'd you do?" Phoenix asked her, giving her a gentle smile. That had been easier than he had thought. "Got a lot of tickets?" He continued to ask, noting that she had been counting tickets. 'Probably should've done that too… oh well, I can do it now.' He told himself, starting to count the tickets.
"I did… Okay. Not as many tickets as I would have liked to have gotten," Cicada sighed as she finished counting her tickets. Phoenix looked like he had a lot more than she did, "How'd it go for you? It looks like it went well."
Quickly he counted the rest off, and lifted his head to her. "It went decent. Like you said, I had hoped for better." Phoenix hummed, giving her a smile. "Altogether, I have a hundred-sixty-five. What about you?" He asked in a hum.
"Hundred and fifty," Cicada let out a dejected sigh as she looked at her tickets. Fifteen off, if she had tried another game in those last five minutes she might've had him, "Damnit I was so close. I guess I'm getting you an arcade prize then."
"Mmm, unless I want to give you my tickets." Phoenix hummed, holding out the role of tickets to her. He seemed serious about it, and wasn't about to change his mind. "You deserve it."
Cicada looked at him and then his tickets. She hesitantly took his tickets and added them to her own to make three-hundred and fifteen tickets, "I, I don't deserve this. But then shouldn't I give them back to you? So you can get the prize?"
He shook his head with a soft smile. "I don't really need anything. If I get to pay for dinner, I'll be plenty happy." Phoenix hummed with a gentle smile. "So you go ahead and get what you want."
"I, uh," Cicada was blushing a little as she looked at him. He, why was he like this? So nice and caring and just… Stop thinking like that Cada. You can't do that with him this soon. She offered the tickets back to Phoenix, "Why don't you pick something for me? I, I don't know what to get."
"You're sure?" Phoenix asked softly, taking both stacks of tickets back. "I don't want to get something you won't like." He hummed, feeling the familiar feel of the paper tickets digging into his hands once more.
