Cas turned his attention to his stairs once they reached them, figuring that falling down them would be very unpleasant. The hard rubber soles made a dull, metallic thud with every step he took. The staircase felt like it was trembling under their weight.
It held, though and the room they entered into was huge and very loud. There was a large ring in the middle with seats around the outside. Grey led Cas over to a table with sign up sheets.
Cas quivered with anticipation, his hands trembling slightly as he wrote his name on the sign up sheet and signed the waivers. "How do I get in? Like… is there a line or what?"
"They'll call you up. It's pretty relaxed here," Grey shrugged a shoulder, "They'll put you in the closest fight available and we go from there. You probably won't have to wait long."
Cas nodded, growing a little nervous now that he was actually here. Usually his fights happened in the heat of the moment when he was angry. They weren't planned like this.
Grey nudged Cas with a grin, "Hey, you'll be great. Stop looking so tense, it's weird."
"Right… I'm sure I'll be fine." Cas forced himself to relax and sighed. "So long as they don't stick me with some huge dude, I'll be fine."
"They tend to pair up smaller guys with smaller guys," Grey shrugged, "Otherwise the fight would be unfair. Just go out and given 'em a show, yeah?"
"Alright…" Cas tapped one foot on the floor and nibbled on his knuckles while he waited. He glanced around at the other people in the room, wondering who he'd be stuck with.
A few minutes later, Cas' name was called. There was already another young man in the ring, probably about the same height as him, maybe slightly taller. He didn't look to have much muscle on him, but he looked eager.
Cas stepped into the ring, his heart pounding in his chest. This felt… wrong. This guy hadn't done anything to make him angry. But still, he was going to win. He'd decided that already.
Grey stood at the side of the ring, more nervous then he cared to admit. Mainly because he didn’t like seeing the other hurt. But, the other male stood ready to fight, holding at his hand to shake Cas’, “Good luck mate.”
"Good luck." Cas shook his hand and stepped back a few paces. When he was signaled to start, he quickly tackled his opponent to the ground.
The man went down with an oof though was quick to turn them around. He pinned Cas down, raising a hand to punch him.
Cas caught his fist and held it away, kicking the other guy off of himself and getting back onto his feet with a huff.
The other male stumbled and stood a moment later, bouncing on his feet. He was grinning, ready to block or attack at any moment.
Cas held up his fists to protect himself, keeping his eyes on his opponent to make sure he didn't try anything without his knowing about it.
The male went for a punch, swinging his left arm out. At the last moment though, he swung his leg out to knock Cas off his feet.
Cas stumbled a bit, but stayed upright. While his opponent was still in the motion of the kick, he swung a punch at him.
He didn’t have time to block the punch, too off balance to do so and he stumbled, losing his balance and falling over.
Cas took the opportunity to pin his opponent down and keep him held there. "Gray! How am I supposed to win?!" He asked.
“Hold him there!” Grey shouted, the rest of the crowd cheering. After about six seconds, the man tapped out.
"Did I win?" Cas asked, completely bewildered. He didn't let go of his opponent until he was told he was supposed to. He stood up, brushed himself off, and held out his hand to shake his opponent's. Not a gesture he was used to after a fight, but one that he figured would be polite.
The male gladly shook Cas' hand with a small chuckle, "Yeah mate, you won. For a first timer you're pretty good at the whole fightin' thing."
Cas grinned a bit. "Yeah, my friend took me here because I keep picking fights with people in public. Here I'm allowed to."
