Grey headed to bed not too long after, finishing the little work he had to do. Luckily, he slept well that night.
Cas fell asleep soon after, huddled up on his bed and tangled up into the covers. While he was a mess, he was comfortable.
The morning came too quick for Grey's liking. The light from the nearby window shining right on his face making him groan and roll over.
Cas was still out cold when Grey awoke. He was exhausted from the events of the previous day. It seemed like he hadn't even bothered to change into something more comfortable.
Eventually, Grey climbed out of bed, not surprised to see Cas still in bed. He went into the kitchen, set on making a cup of tea.
About twenty minutes later, Cas rolled himself into bed and meandered into the kitchen. "Mmmmmmm… I want caffeine…" He whined.
Grey looked up from where he was sitting on the floor watching a set of croissants cook in the oven, chuckling softly at Cas, “Remember what I said? No caffeine for you.”
"But I'm tired…" Cas sighed, sprawling across the table dramatically. "Can't I just have a bit of yours? I don't even need a full cup or anything…"
"No can do shortie," Cas sent him a playful wink, "Have a hot chocolate or something with sugar instead of caffeine."
"Don't call me shortie!" Cas huffed, flushing a bit. "Hot chocolate would probably make me more tired because it's hot!"
"Why can't I call you shortie? I think it's a fitting name," He grinned, "Then have a cold drink instead. But no caffeine, end of story."
Cas flushed harder and looked away. "Can't I just have a fucking Coke or something? Please? I'm exhausted??"
"I dunno. If you can offer me something in return then I'll consider it. And if you promise to try and not go batshit crazy." Grey replied, standing and taking the food out of the oven.
"What can I offer you in return? Don't I own the Coke too?? You can't just hoard it all!" Cas huffed. "What do you even want?"
"Technicalities are irrelevant right now," Grey waved a hand idly, "And I dunno, try something and see what happens."
"I'm an adult and I'm getting myself a Coke." Cas walked over to the fridge, pulled out a Coke, and went to sit back down.
"You're no fun." Grey mumbled. He grabbed two plates, placing a couple on each and handing one to Cas.
"Maybe not, but I'll be awake." Cas shrugged, drinking some of the Coke. It definitely felt strange to have soda in the morning. He started eating with a soft sigh.
Grey sat down on the sofa, crossing his legs and turning on the TV. He flicked the channel to the news and starting eating.
Cas finished eating before joining Grey on the couch, still sipping idly at his Coke. He knew he'd have to take more pain meds, but it could wait.
(what next?)
(I have no idea lol. Any ideas?)
(Not right now, no. oof)
