"And I'll dodge every single one of them. Web fluid dissolves in an hour."
"And I'll dodge every single one of them. Web fluid dissolves in an hour."
She scowled at Hailee and continued to try to pull the webs off of her mouth, "I can't wait a hour, can you use your magic or whatever to make them come off earlier?"
"I'm not getting into this," Gabe said. "I've loved with Hailee long enough to know not to."
Alex glanced at Gabe and scowled again at Hailee, not saying anything as she continued to walk, doing her best to pull the webbing off.
The reached headquarters, and Hailee opened the door long enough to let her brothers in, but closed it on Alex.
"Jerk." She muttered through the still stuck on webbing, opening the door angrily. She marched inside and sat down in the middle of the floor, putting all of her attention towards trying to pull the webs off.
Hailee laughed and webbed her mouth again, this time with Alex's hands stuck in place.
Alex promptly stood up, flipped Hailee off and then marched back out the front door to find somewhere to get the webs off without Hailee there to add more webs. She scowled at the ground and huffed as she walked away from the headquarters.
Hailee let out a laugh. "Did you have to do that?" Matteo asked.
"How else are we supposed to have fun?"
Alex started wandering through the city, making her way towards Central Park where she wouldn't be bothered by the people. The webs were quite stick and she managed to pull her hand off of her mouth with some effort, the web still sticking to the back of her hand like super glue, "Stupid.." She muttered under her breath, letting off a string of curse words as well.
"Dude, come on."
"Look, Teo. You might be her new boyfriend or some shit, but I'm her best friend."
She reached Central Park after using her superspeed for a little bit and she slowed down as she entered, looking for a tree that she could climb without being seen or caught. Hailee may be her best friend, but even then, she could get on Alex's bad side quite easily. She soon found a nice tree and she scrambled up it, hanging from the lowest branch with her legs as she tried to peel the webs off of her hand.
"I know, but you still shouldn't have done that. Do you know where she would be?"
"Uh…probably in a tree in Central Park."
Alex huffed and gave up after a few minutes of fighting the supposedly invincible webs. She flipped back up so she was sitting normally before climbing higher into the tree, getting up high enough that she could see around the park and still see the path a few feet away.
Matteo ran out the door and towards Central Park. His high school track training came in handy and it didn't take long for him to arrive.
Another string of curse words came out of her mouth and she slapped her hand against the bark on the tree to see if it would stick. Sure enough it did and she growled in frustration as she pulled her hand back off along with some of the bark.
Matteo ran into the park. "ALEX!" He yelled. "ALEX!"
She heard someone call her name and she groaned, "Here," She called out with her mouth still covered in webs, no emotion in her voice. She waver her hand in front of herself for added effort before starting to pick at the webs on her hand, "Who is it and what do you want that's so important."
"IT'S TEO!" Matteo yelled.
"Stop yelling." She called, "I'm not deaf." Alex still had no emotion in her voice and she made no attempt to tell him where she was. Slowly she was starting to make progress on peeling the webs off, though it hurt like crazy, and that was just on the back of her hand. It was going to hurt like hell when she tried to get the ones off her face, especially her lips.
"Come on! I can help you!" Matteo called out. "I'm sorry for Hailee's actions!"
She rolled her eyes, "How can you help? The only thing I have to do is peel these webs off without ripping my skin off with them. And you being sorry for her actions doesn't make me feel any less angry about them." She sucked in a sharp breath when she accidentally peeled a section off too fast, shaking her hand in the air as she cursed,
Matteo pulled something out of his pocket. "Web dissolver. Hailee used to do this to me and Gabe all the time, so I stole a few vials for when it happened." He turned away. "But…if you don't want my help, I'll just leave." He walked away.
He had walked off before she could respond and she sighed again, shrugging, "Get used to this Alex." She told herself, "You have to take care of yourself, no one else will help you." She continued to peel off the webbing, scowling at her hand as she took tiny piece by tiny piece off.
Matteo stopped before he left the park, waiting to see if Alex would ask him for help. "I'm going!" He called.
