Aliana bit her lip and glanced up at him. She rose an arm for him, motioning him over like a child. "Well- that's okay. I forgive you." She smiled one of her sweet smiles, putting her own emotions behind her. "I don't want you to feel bad for just surprising me." And besides, it hurt her to see him so upset. "I would've liked to know if you could talk, though, we could've read together and done stuff."
He nods and walks over to her, nudging under her arm and letting out a soft purr. "I like it when you read to me." He mutters as he looks up at her, his tail flicking back and forth in a relaxed manner. He sits down and runs his tongue along his nose before looking up at her. "I'm still Blizzard, even though I can talk."
"But I didn't know you could talk," She tried to explain, looking down at him. "I would have asked you to read to me if I knew you could." She stroked the top of the other's head, watching him lick his nose. She smiled a little.
"You still act like a tiger, and that's cute," She observed.
He shrugged and leaned into her before smiling. "I used to be only a tiger… but a woman turned me into a boy and master found me in the woods. He's very kind." He mutters softly. "And I can't read sadly." His tail flicks back and forth.
Aliana watched his tail like it was a big metronome. "Oh. I'm sorry. It's good that Mr. Cian found you, then," She cooed innocently to him, smiling. She turned her heel and trotted out of the room, her dress fluttering. She was gonna get some sleep.
Blizzard nods before walking out as well towards the library. Cian sighs as he walks through the halls quietly, his eyes shutting as he walked. He was rather tired and he sighed softly as he looked around. he heard the doors open and turns his gaze to where his sister stood. "Sumika." He says quietly as he walked to her side. She smiles at the other. "Hello brother." She bows a little.
Aliana reached her room, but heard the voices of the pair of vampires a little bit away. She snuck over and peeked out at Sumika, smiling a little. She had grown to like the strict vampiress a lot, but she had to stop herself from doing a lot of dumb stuff around her. It seemed as if she had a very short temper.
Cain gazes at her. "How are things running in the cities, villages?" he asks as they walk. "There isn't much…" She sighs. "But the nobles have been running their lands unjustly. I recommend we have a meeting again… they're getting out of control…"
Aliana glanced down at her feet, wondering if she should follow them. She might get in trouble, but she wanted to know what was going on with her human friends. So she nubbed after them, hiding behind statues or in curtains.
Cian nods and sighs softly. "Indeed, it is getting worse…" He mutters softly. He glances at his sister. "I fear that our nobles are becoming to confident." he mutters. Sumika nods and places a hand on his shoulder as they walk through the halls. "On a good note, the humans are doing well, and those who were in poverty are being taken care of." She replies and Cian nods. "What would I do without you, Meeks." He chuckles softly at the nickname and she gives him an irritated glance.
Aliana held her breath as she drew closer and listened to the news of the nobles and her human friends. They were safe, but she would be expecting more nobles. Hopefully Cian and Sumika wouldn't want her to appear like they have been for the last couple times. She tripped over a potted plant and gasped audibly, but then used it to hide. She didn't want to be caught at all.
Sumika sighed as she ran a hand through her hair. "I don't know what to do anymore brother… People are getting hurt and that is not what we wanted. You wanted a world where humans and people coexisted." She muttered. she looked rather pissed off. There was a cut on her cheek, and as you looked closer you could see cuts and bruises along her body. It looked like she had to fight a few of nobles. When they heard the plant both of the royals turned on their heel, searching the halls before continuing to walk.
"Then we bring the nobles here and I'll take care of them myself."
Aliana peeked out again once she thought it was safe and heard them continue to walk, scuttling after them. She heard the emotion in Sumika's deep voice and shivered a little. It was so empowering to hear that two vampires were willing to fight for them.
Bring the nobles? Something about that made Aliana's heart lurch in her chest, and she hid behind a curtain to muffle her soft gasp.
Sumika stared at her brother in horror. "You don't mean that. That's suicide!" She glares at her brother. Cian gazed at his sister. "If I die, then you will become Queen. It's as simple as that." He replies. "But I will not have humans dying on the streets. I refuse." He replies shortly. "If it means a world where Aliana and her family can be safe and live happily and be well fed then I will fight for that." He replies shortly.
Cian couldn't die! He couldn't! Aliana hurried after them, pressing herself against the wall. If he died it would make it worse. People were already afraid of him, many still mocked him as a king, but were rightly afraid of him. Her eyes were large as she watched the pair of vampires talk and move down the hall like a pair of shadows.
He gazes at his sister, "I a, stronger then I appear sister." He replies. Sumika shook her head. "Think about Aliana, brother. Can you think of other before you decide to do something stupid? What about Blizzard? What about me?" She replies shortly.
"I am not going to die." He replies. "This subject is over with. I will summon the nobles tomorrow night." He replies shortly. He cut his sister off when she tried to argue.
Aliana watched them walk away, her lips cupped in her hands. She didn't want him to risk his life to fighting those nobles. They were so much stronger than what he probably knew them as. They were dangerous and not afraid to kill. She knew from first-hand experience. Aliana turned her heel and hurried off back down to her room, not wanting to hear any more. She felt sick with apprehension and dread.
Cian knew what he was facing, he knew what he was doing. And he knew he was going to win. While the nobles were powerful, he knew their weaknesses. He knew what he was going to do and exactly how. He heard Aliana and looked back, watching her hurry off. Sumika looked at her brother and her eyes saddened.
Blizzard was snoozing on her couch, his tail flicking back and forth in a relaxed manner.
They only saw the smallest flicker of blue from her dress as she fled down the hall, not bothering to mask her footsteps anymore. She threw herself into her bedroom, then into her bathroom, expelling all of the contents of her stomach into the toilet (to put it more simply, she puked lmao). She sat back, hugging herself and sobbing softly. She wanted to be left alone, to be the only person on earth. She was tired of all of the war, the violence.
He watches the other disappear and sighs softly. "I will win, sister. I promise." he mutters gently, running a hand through his hair before looking down.
Aliana stood up slowly, rubbing her face off and cleaning her lips. She now had that nasty taste of puke in her mouth, along with the feeling of dread in her stomach. This was awful. She didn't want to lose him.
Cian knocked on her door gently a little while after talking with Sumika. "Aliana, may we talk?" He asks gently as he stood outside the door. His yellow eyes were soft, and he sighed quietly as he waited. He wanted to at least talk to her before he met fate. Whether that was death or freedom.
Aliana flushed the toilet and slipped into her bed, resting her upset stomach against it. She peeked out of the sheets with a soft little sigh.
"I guess we can," She responded softly to the door, tilting her aching head against the mattress with a small sigh, her cheeks pale.
He slowly enters the room, the door not even making a noise. "Aliana. I assume you heard my conversation…?" He asks quietly as he settles by her feet on the bed, a small look of sympathy in his eyes as he gazed at her. "Are you alright? You appear to be sick…" He mutters gently.
Aliana watched him come in with her eyes half-lidded and she nodded slowly. "I did hear…" She sniffled softly and hugged her pillow. "Winter brings sickness for humans. It doesn't help that I am worried for you, my king," She admitted to him.
