Sorry about being gone so long, School started//
Cain sighed once he was on the bed, His eyes shutting for a moment. He held onto her hand gently, his thumb running over her knuckles. He gazed at her. "You are a very peculiar woman, Aliana." He whispers. He gazes up at her with soft golden eyes.
(That’s ok, I understand!)
Alaina blinked down at him as he opened his eyes, her hands still wrapped around his. Her eyes were still shining with worry, but she smiled a little as he turned his head anyway. Alaina settled onto the bed next to him and sighed.
“Don’t talk, you need rest.”
(YAAAAAY I MISSED YOUUU!)
Cain smiled gently and ran a hand through her hair. "I'll be alright." He mutters gently, kissing the back of her hand in an assuring manner. He smiled a bit before wincing faintly. Sumika watched silently from the doorway. "I will be making my leave brother. I will come back when we have replaced the nobles with more suitable ones." She says quietly.
Alaina moved her head onto his shoulder, careful not to press anywhere that was too injured for her to relax. She jumped at the sudden voice of the other vampire, tilting her head up a little and smiling a little. Her fingers looped with Cain’s after he kissed the back of her hand, letting herself be reassured by his soft, calm words.
Cain nods to his sister before settling beside Alaina. He was glad to have her there beside him. He stayed there, shutting his eyes. He healed faster then most vampires, so he wouldn't be surprised if he was healed in the next few days. He smiled gently at Alaina. "I told you I would survive." he says quietly, removing his mask once his sister was gone.
Alaina gazed up at his handsome face, becoming entranced with it as she gazed into his beautiful yellow eyes. She rose her free hand to rest it on his cheek, still looking worried at his statement.
“You did survive. But I just wish you never had to go at all.” She snuggled closer to him, wrapping her free arm around his neck while still holding onto his hand.
His bright yellow eyes glint the moment the moonlight hit them. He smiled and leaned into her hand. He shook his head. "People were dying. I could not let that continue." he whispers as he gazed at her. "I did what I had to do to protect my people."
(Sorry I forgot the color of his eyes)
Alaina’s gaze flicked up to meet his as he stared at her. Her blonde hair shimmered in the moonlight; a pretty white color that almost matched Cain’s. “I guess you’re right. I just don’t like seeing you hurt.” She rubbed her thumb on his smooth skin. She could ever imagine her king hurt. He was always strong and standing tall. It hurt her to see him like this.
He leaned into her hands, her warm embrace comforting him from the dull, aching pain. He gazed at her hair, running a hand through it. She was breathtaking in every way. He sighed. "As long as I have you, I have nothing to fear." He whispers.
Noticing that he was enjoying the hug, she wrapped her arms the best she could around him and buried her head into the crook of his neck unblushingly. She had been so worried for him (her palms still had the nail marks where she was gritting her fists) she hadn’t been able to express any sort of relief. Now it was flooding over her: her king would be okay.
“I can say the same, my king,” She mumbled into his skin.
He smiled a little bit as he kissed her forehead, and holds her close. "For now, my love. Let's just rest." He whispers softly as he held onto her.
Alaina leaned her head on his and nodded, using him as her big pillow and teddy bear. She was so exhausted from worrying herself. She actually didn’t expect to end the day comfortably in bed with him.
(Skip?)
(Hmm, good question. Do you want to skip to when he proposes?)
(Like,,, marriage? Sure? If that’ll advance the plot and their relationship, why not?)
(Alright. We don't have to if you don't want to.)
(Well no it just caught me off guard a bit. I like the idea.)
