Larkin nodded and followed Samul over, looking at the food with wide, eager eyes. "Always. Where do you wanna eat?"
Larkin nodded and followed Samul over, looking at the food with wide, eager eyes. "Always. Where do you wanna eat?"
"How about at the table?" Samul offered, looking to Larkin. "Think you can set it?"
"Sure, sure…" Larkin hurried between the cabinet and the table, quickly getting plates and utensils set out.
Samul chuckled some, finishing with their food and carrying it to the table.
"Love you dear," he said, smiling as he dished out the food.
"Love you too!" He quickly began eating as soon as the food was in front of him, his tail wagging excitedly.
Samul smiled, starting to eat himself.
"So, how is it?"
"It's good!" Larkin replied, his voice a bit muffled from his mouth being full of food. "Thanks!"
"I'm glad! You did really well with the herbs dear, thank you." Samul hummed some, holding back a chuckle. Larkin was so sweet…
Larkin flushed a bit and rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "T-Thanks… I really didn't do all that much, though."
"You'd be surprised how many people wouldn't be able to do what you did," Samul said in turn. He smiled, kissing Larkin's cheek.
"It's just a bit of chopping… doesn't take too much dexterity." He shrugged a bit and returned the kiss.
"I've seen people in cooking classes have a hard time with it," Samul countered. She smiled, taking a bite of his chicken.
Larkin shrugged again. "I dunno. I never thought cutting stuff was all that hard. Doesn't even require any cooking."
"Cutting things properly is very important to cooking," Samul said, making an exaggerated 'matter-o-factly" face.
"I guess that makes sense. I just never really thought about it much." He stuck another bite of food in his mouth.
"Mm. Most people don't." Samul offered a smile, though, reaching over to lightly squeeze Larkin's free hand.
Larkin smiled softly and kissed Samul's cheek. "Well, maybe I can learn some more stuff to help."
"Really? I think that would be fun," Samul said, smiling some in turn. "Something we could do together."
Larkin nodded a bit, his cheeks flushing lightly. "Y-Yeah, I think it would be fun. Then I can help so you don't always have to do everything yourself."
"Sounds like a plan, then!" Samul smiled, taking Larkin's hand and giving it a light squeeze.
Larkin nodded again, holding a bit tighter to Samul as he ate. "You'll have to teach me the basics and stuff."
"Mhm! I'll make sure it isn't boring, promise." Samul chuckled some, resting his head on Larkin's shoulder for a moment before pulling back to continue eating.
"Cool, thanks. You know I get bored pretty quick." He laughed softly and kissed Samul's cheek.
"Indeed," Samul said, smiling some. "We'll keep it fun, yeah?" The man leaned into the kiss, pressing his own to Larkin's cheek in turn.
"Yeah!" Larkin soon finished his food and brought his plate to the drink to wash it.
