"You're not," Samul assured. "I promise, we can handle you needing to eat so much."
"You're not," Samul assured. "I promise, we can handle you needing to eat so much."
"Mmmm…" Larkin whined and sighed softly. "But I feel baaaaad…"
"It's okay sweetieee," Samul said in turn. "You don't do anything wrong at all."
"I know, I know… but still." Larkin sighed again and huddled closer. "It's a lot."
"It's not as much as you think, dear," Samul assured. "I've seen people eating much more than you do before."
"I guess…" Larkin looked away. "We're not exactly rich, though. What if we run out of money because of me?"
"We won't, dear," Samul assured. "We won't run out of any money."
"How do you know? W-We could get a hospital bill or something and that could be super expensive and then we won't have enough money to do stuff…"
"We'll find a way," Samul said softly. He moved to cup Larkin's cheeks, having the panicking man look at him. "We'll be okay, Larkin, no matter what. We have each other."
Larkin turned his ears back and whimpered softly, looking up at Samul meekly. "Yeah, y-yeah, but… I just… I-I dunno…"
Samul gently kissed Larkin's forehead, holding him close.
"We got my mamas, too, Larkin. We have so many ways to make sure we'll be okay. I love you, Larkin, and I'm never going to let us go through that."
Larkin buried his face in Samul's chest again, shifting uneasily. "I just… everyone would be so much better off if I wasn't… what I am."
"No, we wouldn't be," Samul said softly. He moved his arms to wrap securely around Larkin's back, kissing his head. "I love you so much the way you are, Larkin, and if you hadn't become this, you wouldn't have become the person you are today, either."
"You wouldn't be happier if you didn't have to deal with all of this?" He asked weakly, his voice soft and meek. "It's expensive and time consuming and it have to keep a constant eye on me so I don't destroy everything…"
"I wouldn't be. I love you for who you are, Larkin, and this is just as much as a part of you as any other. I know it can be hard sometimes, but you know what? All relationships are, Larkin. All that matters to me is that I get to love you…" Samul ran his fingers through Larkin's hair, keeping him close.
Larkin nuzzled against Samul, sighing shakily as he whined needily. "Mmmm… what did I ever do to deserve you, Samul…?" He asked softly, burying his face further into the other's chest.
"You didn't do anything at all, Larkin," Samul said softly. "I'm the one who could never deserve you. I try, though."
"I haven't done anything special, Samul… you deserve better than me. I love you…" He mumbled softly.
I could never deserve better than you, Larkin," Samul said with a soft hum. He kissed Larkin's head, resting his head on the other.
Larkin sighed softly and huddled close to Samul. "There are so many better people than me… people who aren't anything like me."
"That's why I could never love them, Larkin. I love you, not anyone else." Samul cupped Larkin's cheeks gently, kissing his head.
Larkin smiled weakly, his eyes shining. "Y-You're sweet, Samul…" He murmured softly. "I'm a very lucky man."
"I'm a very lucky man too, Larkin, to have you." Samul rested his forehead on Larkin's, offering a small smile.
"Mm…" Larkin fell quiet, huddling closer to Samul. He jumped when the oven timer finally went off.
Samul looked over as the timer went off, carefully pulling away from Larkin to turn it off and pull the chicken out.
"Hungry still?" he asked, already portioning the meat out.
