"H-How do you know? He… he could've followed us…" Larkin buried his face in Samul's chest and shifted nervously.
"H-How do you know? He… he could've followed us…" Larkin buried his face in Samul's chest and shifted nervously.
"Because if he did, I would kick his ass. I'm not letting him anywhere near you again." Samul held Larkin closer, kissing his head.
Larkin nodded weakly and gripped Samul's shirt, still trembling. "R-Right… I'm just worried I'm not gonna be able to take the test anyway because I'm all worked up…"
Samul rubbed Larkin's back, kissing his head again.
"Here," the man said softly. "I'll wait right outside the classroom to make sure no one tries to get at you, okay?"
"Okay… thanks, Samul…" Larkin sighed softly and lingered with Samul for a bit longer before reluctantly resuming his walking.
Samul kissed Larkin's head one last time, following him in the walk as far as he knew he was allowed to go.
"You've got this," the man assured softly.
"If you say so…" Larkin hesitated a minute or two before he finally let go of Samul's hand and went into the room.
Samul watched Larkin go. He sighed softly, moving to sit in one of the chairs by the entrance to wait.
After about an hour and a half, Larkin came back out of the room and hugged Samul tightly. "Mmmm…"
Samul stood, hugging Larkin back.
"How did it go?" he asked softly. He rubbed the man's back, humming some in comfort. He was already leading the man out, to head back home.
"Fine, I think… I dunno…" Larkin clung tightly to Samul's hand as he followed him out. "It's really hard to focus right now…"
Samul squeezed Larkin's hand lightly, walking close to him.
"That's okay," Samul assured softly.
"Would you like me to carry you..?"
"Mm…" Larkin held his arms up to Samul as his assent, mostly keeping quiet. "Just wanna go home…"
Samul nodded. He kissed Larkin's head, making sure his hat was on properly before picking his boyfriend up. He held Larkin's chest to his own, lightly scratching his back.
"We'll be there soon," the man promised. "I love you."
"Love you too… we're not being followed, are we?" Larkin asked weakly, keeping his face buried in Samul's shoulder so he wouldn't be visible.
"We're not," Samul assured. He continued down the street, keeping the pace up so they wouldn't have to be out for long.
"We're almost home, promise."
"Mmkay…" Larkin kept his face hidden, obviously still very uneasy. He only looked up when he was back in the house, sighing softly in relief.
Samul opened the door to the house, stepping in. He smiled, kissing Larkin's head.
"See? We made it. You did amazing…"
"Mmmm…" Larkin clung tightly to Samul, obviously not entirely convinced. "And you're sure we weren't followed?"
"I'm sure," Samul promised. He kissed Larkin's head, carrying the man into the house more. With the door closed, Samul lightly pulled on Larkin's hat, looking for permission to take it off.
Larkin hesitated before pulling his head back to help Samul take the hat off. He buried his face in Samul's chest and sighed.
Samul patted Larkin's back, moving to the kitchen.
"How does bacon sound?"
Larkin perked up a bit and nodded eagerly. "Sounds good to me. I think it'll do a good job of distracting me, at least…"
"I figured." Samul kissed Larkin's head, carrying him into the kitchen. At least the man could be himself at home without fear, mostly.
Larkin hummed softly and rested his head on Samul's shoulder. "Can we watch a movie or something after you make the bacon?"
