Samul stood as well, smiling some.
"Here, why don't we head to the kitchen for a bit for a snack?"
Samul stood as well, smiling some.
"Here, why don't we head to the kitchen for a bit for a snack?"
"Mmm… what snack?" Larkin asked, compliantly following Samul into the kitchen.
"Something sweet," Samul said with a soft smile.
"Hmm… alright." Larkin got himself set up at the table and then started tailing Samul around the kitchen.
Samul smiled some, reaching into a hidden spot when he got to the kitchen.
"How does some candy sound?"
"Sure!" Larkin whined happily when Samul pulled out the candy, tail wagging with excitement.
Samul tossed a piece to Larkin, smiling some.
"Here!"
"Thanks!" Larkin stuck the candy in his mouth and sat down to get to work again.
Samul smiled. He grabbed his own candy, moving to sit with Larkin, humming some.
Larkin kept quietly working on his homework for a while, occasionally sighing with exasperation. "Ughh… this is taking so long…"
"I know, sweetie," Samul said, looking up. "But we're getting through our work, yeah?
"Yeahhh…" Larkin sighed and huffed a bit. "Can we do something fun after I'm done?"
"Sure thing, dear, like what?" Samul leaned over, hugging Larkin and kissing his cheek.
"I dunnoooo… we can't go outside, so we'll have to figure out something to do here…" Larkin sighed softly.
"Well, what about a board game?" Samul smiled some, leaning to kiss Larkin's cheek.
"Sure, sounds good to me." Larkin returned the kiss and kept working, humming softly to himself as he did so.
Samul hummed in turn, settling back into his chair as he started finishing up the paper he was working on.
It took Larkin another hour or two, but he finally finished his work and leaned back in his chair with a relieved sigh.
Samul looked up when it seemed Larkin was finally done.
"You good, sweetie?" The man asked. He stood, going over to wrap his arms around Larkin from behind.
"Mhmm… just really braindead…" Larkin groaned and ran his fingers through his hair.
"Oh, I get that," Samul said with a soft laugh. He kissed Larkin's forehead, staying close.
Larkin closed his eyes and relaxed a bit at the kiss, turning his ears back a bit. "Mmm… what game do you wanna play?"
"Well, something low on brainpower needed," Samul said with a chuckle.
"How about something like checkers?"
"Yeah, sure. Sounds fine to me." Larkin yawned and got up out of his chair.
Samul hugged Larkin for a moment more, then moved to the coffee table. He reached under to the shelf, pulling out the checkers board to set it up.
