Larkin winced a bit as the water hit his skin, whining shakily with his tail tucked between his leg. "It hurts…"
"I know," Samul said softly. He could feel the tears pricking at his eyes.
"I know, sweetie, but this will help them, I promise." Samul kissed Larkin's head lightly, holding the werewolf close. He rubbed Larkin's back, trying to help him keep calm.
Larkin whimpered again and tucked his head under Samul's chin. He just allowed to other to take care of him, not particularly willing to move at the moment.
Samul kissed the top of Larkin's head, then put his chin back on top of him.
"I love you," he said softly. He kept Larkin close, eventually reaching over to grab a washcloth and soap. He massaged Larkin with it, keeping gentle over his burns.
Larkin exhaled sharply whenever Samul touched one of his burns, seeming very unsettled and nervous. "I-I love you too…" He murmured, his voice weak and shaky.
Samul finally stopped. He wrapped his arms securely around Larkin, tucking the man back under his chin.
"I'm sorry," he said, voice barely a whisper. "I'm so, so sorry…"
Larkin whimpered a bit as he clung to Samul, still quivering in the other's arms. "It's not your fault, love… I-I should've been more careful…"
Samul shook his head some. Still, he didn't have an argument for the moment, so he stayed silent, pulling Larkin close.
"I'm hungry… can we make something after we get out of here?" He asked weakly.
'Yes," Samul said softly. He hugged Larkin close, bringing the shower to a close. He grabbed a towel, wrapping it around Larkin to keep him warm.
Larkin huddled close to Samul, his wet tail tucked up between his legs. "I love you… I'm sorry you gotta deal with all this…"
"I love you too, Larkin," Samul said quietly. He scooped the man up in his arms, carrying him out of the shower. "And you don't have to be. I… I wanna take care of you, Larkin. No matter what happens."
"T-Thanks, Samul…" Larkin sighed softly. "What're we gonna make for food?" He asked. "I'm still hungry…"
"How does breakfast food sound?" Samul asked softly. "We can have bacon, and toast." Samul wanted to give Larkin something that could help him feel better.
"Yeah… bacon sounds real good, love…" Larkin kissed Samul's cheek and clung tightly to him. "T-Thanks…"
Samul kissed Larkin's head in turn, holding him close.
"You're welcome, sweetie," he said softly. He carried his lover into the kitchen, keeping close as he pulled the bacon out.
Larkin sniffed at the bacon a bit when Samul picked it up, whining needily. "Mmmm… it won't take too long, will it?"
"No, not at all," Samul promised. He kissed Larkin's head, setting the bacon out on the pan. It cooked fairly quickly, and it wasn't long before Samul was patting the bacon dry and offering a piece to Larkin.
Larkin stuck the bacon in his mouth as soon as it was given to him, wagging his tail weakly with satisfaction. "Mmm… thanks, love…" He mumbled.
"You're welcome, sweetie." Samul picked up the plate of bacon, bringing Larkin to the couch. He continued to offer small pieces of bacon, keeping his boyfriend close.
Larkin ate the little bits of bacon whenever it was offered to him, huddling very close to Samul. He just closed his eyes and allowed the other to feed him.
Samul pulled the blanket he always had on the couch around them, something soft and fluffy to keep them warm. The man ran his fingers through Larkin's hair, feeding him until there was nothing left.
Larkin huddled up in Samul's arms when the bacon was gone, seeming a little more relaxed and comfortable than before. He was at least temporarily distracted from his troubles, which was good.
It was good to see Larkin calmer now. Samul kissed the werewolf's head, humming softly.
"How you feeling?" the man asked softly.
"I'm okay… less hungry, anyway." Larkin nuzzled against Samul affectionately and sighed softly. "I love you…"
