She froze, cheeks gaining a light rosy tinge, and found herself for once unable to form a reply, in any language.

He didn't seem to notice, counting out $125 from the wad and handing it to the worker.
It took her longer than she liked to gain some composure back, cheeks still pink, as his words played over in her mind.
He looked down at the phone, then up at her. "Now what?"
She held her hand out for it. "We need to program your information into it, and then my number. Along with any other phone numbers you have memorized."
He shrugged, hanging it to her. "Alright. I don't know any others, but it'll help with getting into contac with the babysitter."
"How have you been doing that up until this point?" She asked curiously as she fiddled with the phone.
"They just call work, and I take a break to go talk to them."
"Well, this is much better in terms of emergencies." Manon finished programming her number in, and handed it back to him.
"For sure." He looked down at his feet. "Hey, the neighbors have Emma and Jaiden for another few hours, and I got a little bit of extra cash still. Would you….wanna go out somewhere?"
"Are you…asking me out?" She berated herself for the hopeful tone.
"If that's how you want to see it, yeah." His tone matched her's. "Or it can be just two new friends. You choose."
Her cheeks darkened, and she rubbed the back of her neck, uncharacteristically nervous. "I would absolutely love to go with the first one."
He smiled. "Then a date it is." He felt like jumping up and down and shouting, but he kept it in.
((I'm laughing at the fact that she's like a foot taller than him. she'd have to take her heels off if she was going to kiss him lmao
Manon smiled brightly, and held out her hand. "Let's go then!"
((Oh Neptune))
He laced his finger between her's. "Well, where do you want to go?"
She blinked. "I had not thought that far. We could stick to here, in the mall, or we could go elsewhere?"
"Well, mall food tastes like cardboard, and I do have a little bit of dough. How about….huh. I don't go ouut often."
Manon thought for a moment. "There is a small diner not too far from here. Did you drive here?"
He shook his head. "Got dropped off. I need - needed - to use gas like gold."
"We shall take my vehicle then." She decided, and began to pull him along once again, at a slower pace so that he could keep up.
He smiled at nothing in particular, just happy with his recent string of good luck. If I don't fuck this up, today'll be the best day ever.
Manon's thoughts were racing, but she was incredibly happy. The man who's hand she was holding had caught her interest and attention, and he actually liked her back, for something non-superficial.
"I didn't think you were the type of person that frequent diners, not gonna lie."
"In all actuality, it was purely by accident that I even ended up in there. I fell in love with the place though."
