"Well, now it's my turn." Ash hesitated a moment, giving Laura a hug before he went.
"You're not, I promise," he said faintly.
"Well, now it's my turn." Ash hesitated a moment, giving Laura a hug before he went.
"You're not, I promise," he said faintly.
Laura nodded a little, smiling softly at the hug.
"Alright, sir. If you say so." She mumbled, scooting closer to him.
Ash patted Laura's back gently, pulling away a bit to take his turn. He still had one arm a around Laura, giving her a soft smile.
"One…" He chucked faintly, moving his piece one space.
"Mmm… my turn?" Laura asked softly, starting to reach for the spinner. If she was wrong, he could correct her. But she was going to assume she was doing this right.
Ash nodded
"Yes. Once I finish moving my piece, it's probably your turn." He offered another gentle smile.
"Alright, sir." Laura hummed softly, spinning to take her turn. When it landed on a five, her face lit up a little as she started to move her piece along the board.
Ash smiled gently.
"You're really going fast!" He said, smiling gently. He moved to spin the spinner, letting out a soft playful sigh when it landed on two.
"Unlike me…" He chuckled softly, showing he had no ill will.
Laura gave him a soft look, trying to hide her pride. She reached out to take another turn, the spinner landing on a two as well.
"You're not too far behind, sir. Only a couple spaces." She insisted, seeming to try an encourage him.
"Okay then…" Ash spun the spinner. He laughed lightly as it landed on a six.
"Finally, I've got a bit of pep in my step!" Ash moved his piece… only to land on a slide. His mouth opened in a little shocked 'o' as he sent his piece down to land on the third space of the board.
"Ah, man…" he chuckled faintly.
Laura couldn't help but giggle softly, her smile staying at the look on his face. If he was letting her get a head start, she clearly seemed to be oblivious to it. And didn't seem to mind being in the lead.
"That didn't last very long…" She hummed, spinning and getting another two.
Ash smiled faintly.
"No, it really didn't." He chuckled again, glad Laura seemed to be having fun. She still was just a kid, after all. He watched Laura, smiling still. He spun again…
"Three! I'm catching up!" he grinned, moving his piece three spaces.
Laura looked up at him, her eyes bright, and smile pretty big.
"Good for you, sir." She hummed a little as she went to take another turn. When she got a four, she slowly counted the spaces before letting out a slight huff as she moved her piece to the top of a slide.
"Mmm… do I go to the bottom of it?"
Ash watched as Laura set her piece on top of a slide.
"Yes, down to the bottom." Ash pointed to the end of the slide Laura was on, landing right in front of his own piece.
Laura nodded a little, setting her piece where directed. Though her smile pulled back up, happy to know she was still in the lead.
"Your turn, sir." She chirped a bit, sitting on her knees instead.
Ash nodded at Laura's words, spinning the spinner.
"Two, again," he mumbled softly, gaining disappointed cheesily. He moved his piece in an exaggerated motion, unable to help a chuckle when he was done.
"I think it's broken… we keep getting twos." Laura huffed a little, sitting up a little taller. She glanced over to him when he chuckled, giving him a sweet smile.
"Does anything happen now that we're on the same space?"
"Well, I-" Ash said, picking his piece up again and setting it in front of Laura, "- get to move to the first available spot!" He chuckled, giving Laura a hug quickly.
"Taking the lead!"
Laura huffed a little, letting him hug her.
"That doesn't seem fair… but if it's the rules…" She mumbled a little before giving him a gentle smile. After that, she started to take her turn, landing on a three.
Ash hummed faintly, spinning to get a one. He let out a long breath.
"Only to go right back to where I was before…" He let out a sigh laugh, sitting back.
"I'm sure you can catch up, sir." Laura insisted, giving him her smile. She giggled softly, starting to take her turn.
"I'm only a couple spaces ahead." She hummed softly.
Ash nodded, smiling back.
"Okay then." He watched she, smile dropping a bit.
"You're on a ladder," he said softly. "You get to go up it." Bringing her far away from Ash.
Laura blinked in surprise, looking back down to the boar.
"Oh." She stated simply, moving her piece to the top of the ladder. "Well… if you spin a five, you can come up too!" Laura insisted, having counted to spaces. She felt bad he was so far behind, wanting to try and help.
"Let's hope so," Ash said. He smiled a bit, spinning. Three. He moved his piece, ending up on a smaller ladder.
"Better than nothing!" He said, smiling.
Laura laughed softly, nodding a little.
"That's true, sir. There's another ladder a few spaces ahead. Maybe you can get that one." She hummed a little, spinning to get a one.
"Perhaps, perhaps." Ash smiled, hugging Laura again as he spun the spinner. Two. He moved.
"Hopefully I'll get it next turn and not ship over it!" He laughed lightly.
